Chapter 17 - Forgiveness

As I hugged his waist, I felt how muscular he really was. Tears started to flow uncontrollably down my cheeks as he then wiped them and looked right into my eyes. Then, out of the blue, he pulled me towards him, our lips inches apart.

It was me who closed that gap now. I put my arms around his neck, feeling his warmth. Our brief kiss ended, making us both blush like fools.

"How did you find me?" Well, I couldn't well say that I heard screaming and just linked it with him. I looked at him and smiled. "You're always warm, so I just decided to follow the warmth." Surely he won't fall for that- his arms then wrapped around me, making my nose touch his jacket. It smelt just like him... it smelt like Eric.

"Just so you know, you came to me, not the other way around." I then smiled and hugged him back. "I know." While we walked back to my house, he held hands and he started to explain his family situation. "I moved out of my father's house around 6 months ago. He was too constricting and chained me down so I left. He sends me money every month, but I don't want to use it."

He then looked down on me and smiled. "I'd rather use it all on you and make you happy, Anna." I blushed a little and looked away. "You stubborn idiot. So you've been living on the streets for 6 months?" He smirked. "I got fired from my part-time job and got evicted from my apartment two days ago. I've slept on a bench in a park once, and inside of a children's play area once." I then took hold of his hand and frowned.

"Not anymore, you aren't. Come live with me!" I held his hand, my determined face making me look adorable in his eyes. "You... that's not fair..." "What isn't fair?" He then moved his arm and I saw his cherry red cheeks. "Saying such cute and innocent things.. gosh, you're adorable." It was then my turn to blush.

"You're the one not being fair. Saying such sweet things out of the blue... that isn't like you, Eric." As I arrived at my house and unlocked my door, I then remembered the boxes and bags filled with clothes at my doorstep. And then, the note that he had written me was on the small table. Seeing it, Eric blushed. "So you read the note." I nodded and before I could say anything, he picked up the boxes and brought them up to my room.

"Oh, you don't have to do that!" He smirked and nodded. "I've got to pay rent somehow, don't I?" I blushed even more. I'm going to be living with Eric from today. Hold on, isn't this really bad? Am I going to get any sleep at all? Did I dig myself a deeper hole? No, I believe that I made the right choice. "I'm going to go make dinner, is that okay?" I then opened the door to my room and saw him poking Erica's cheeks.

"Ah! What are you doing to poor Erica?" He snorted with laughter. "Hold on, you called your plushie that I got you Erica?" I nodded and picked her up, cuddling her. "Because her expression reminded me of yours, Eric."
