Lines Crossing

Episode 4 – Lines Crossing

The morning sun leaked through the apartment blinds, casting stripes of gold across the sisters’ living room.

Ji Ah sat at the dining table, already dressed in a fitted blazer, her laptop open, eyes sharp.

Ji Won shuffled in with a silk robe, yawning.

“You’re leaving this early?” she asked, pouring coffee.

“I have a meeting,” Ji Ah replied without looking up.

“With who?”

Ji Ah’s fingers paused over the keyboard. “…Jung Corporation.”

Ji Won froze mid-sip. “Wait. That’s the man from your seminar?”

“Business is business,” Ji Ah said flatly, though the faintest flicker crossed her eyes.

At Jung Corporation

The glass building loomed like a fortress. Ji Ah’s heels clicked against the marble lobby as she entered, confidence masking the faint flutter in her chest.

The receptionist led her to a boardroom. Inside, men in dark suits spoke in hushed tones, but only one caught her eye.

Hyun Woo, seated at the head of the table.

Their gazes collided again, just like at the seminar.

But this time, it lasted.

He rose. “Miss Han Ji Ah. Thank you for coming.”

Her voice remained steady. “I don’t waste time, Mr. Jung. Let’s begin.”

The meeting stretched for hours—contracts, negotiations, strategies. Ji Ah’s mind stayed razor-sharp, dissecting every clause. Hyun Woo challenged her points, but not with hostility.. more like testing, as if measuring her.

At one point, the team excused themselves to fetch documents, leaving only the two of them.

Hyun Woo leaned back slightly. “You don’t flinch, even under pressure. That’s rare.”

Ji Ah met his gaze coolly. “I don’t have the luxury to flinch.”

Something unreadable flickered in his eyes. Respect… and something deeper.

When the others returned, Ji Ah closed her laptop. “You’ll have my revised draft by tomorrow.”

Hyun Woo gave a small nod. “I look forward to it.”

Her steps out of the boardroom were steady, but inside, her heart thudded louder than her heels.

In Milan’s bustling fashion district, Ji Won strutted down the studio runway, wrapped in a gown of ivory silk. Cameras clicked. Assistants whispered.

Her manager waved excitedly from the sidelines. “Big news! Your pilot’s here.”

Ji Won rolled her eyes. “Don’t tell me..”

Before she could finish, the studio doors opened. Tae Hyun walked in, casual clothes, jacket slung over his shoulder, greeting staff warmly. He wasn’t supposed to be here until tomorrow.

Ji Won’s lips parted in disbelief. “Why..why is he here?”

The photographer clapped his hands. “Perfect timing! We’re shooting a travel concept. What’s more authentic than a pilot and a model?”

Ji Won’s jaw dropped. “Excuse me?!”

But the photographer was already pulling Tae Hyun closer, explaining poses.

Minutes later, Ji Won found herself standing inches away from him, lights flashing around them.

“Just relax,” Tae Hyun whispered, amusement dancing in his eyes.

“I am relaxed,” she snapped, though her pulse betrayed her.

“You’re shaking,” he murmured softly.

Her eyes darted up to him. For once, she had no comeback.

The camera captured the moment, her fiery glare, his teasing grin. Sparks hidden in plain sight.

Night fell.

Back in Seoul, Ji Ah reviewed files at her desk, Hyun Woo’s words echoing faintly.

In Milan, Ji Won collapsed on her hotel bed, still replaying Tae Hyun’s voice.

Two sisters.

Two men.

Two fates slowly weaving threads together.

Neither admitted it aloud, but both felt the same quiet shift.

Some stories don’t explode...they unfold.
