The courtyard of Eastford College was alive with the chatter of students between classes.
Leon lounged on a bench, legs stretched out, his red hair messy under the morning sun. His friends laughed loudly nearby, passing around a can of energy drink.
“Another class skipped?” one of them teased.
Leon smirked. “I’m not here to learn. I’m here to survive.”
That smirk earned a laugh, but before long, trouble found him.
A group of students from another year approached, sneering. Their leader stepped forward.
“You think you’re tough, redhead?” he jeered.
Leon stood slowly, stretching his arms. “Depends… you wanna find out?”
The fight erupted fast — fists, boots, and flying trash cans. Leon moved with reckless grace, his red hair flashing in the sun as he knocked two men aside with ease. His friends cheered.
By the end, the other group was sprawled on the ground, nursing bruises, as Leon dusted off his jeans with a cocky grin.
Rumors spread quickly through campus about the red-haired delinquent who didn’t fear anyone.
Anos’s Introduction
Several blocks away, in the dim-lit depths of the city, a mafia meeting was underway.
The air was thick with cigarette smoke. Men in sharp suits murmured urgently, eyes darting toward the tall figure at the head of the table.
Anos leaned back in his chair, fingers steepled, black hair slick and sharp as his gaze swept the room.
One underling spoke nervously:
“Boss… there’s a guy. Red hair. Been roaming our territory… beating up our men.”
Another added, “We tried sending people after him. No one’s returned clean. He’s too fast. Too reckless. Doesn’t fear anyone.”
Anos’s lips curved into a faint smirk. His voice was low, deliberate:
“I want to meet him.”
A pause. His eyes darkened.
“Find him. Bring him to me.”
There was a ripple of silence. The men in the room knew when Anos said something like that — it was an order. And it wasn’t one to be ignored.
Their First Collision
Later that night, Leon walked through a quieter part of the city with two friends. The air was damp from rain earlier, the streets lit by yellow street lamps. His steps were easy, his smirk still lingering from the fight earlier.
He didn’t notice the tall shadow watching from an alley until he bumped into it. Hard.
“Watch where you’re going,” Leon said, irritation in his tone.
The man before him didn’t flinch. His black hair was slick, his sharp suit immaculate despite the rain. His voice was calm, almost dangerous.
“…Or what? You’re not afraid of me?”
Leon blinked. “…I don’t know who you are, so… no.”
A slow smile curled on the man’s lips. “You will.”
Leon stared at him, something in that quiet voice making his chest tighten.
The man’s gaze was locked on him.
Leon didn’t know why, but a strange sense of danger mixed with curiosity struck him.
The man stepped aside without another word. Leon stared after him as he walked away, not realizing the figure in black had already pulled out his phone.
Red hair. Reckless. Strong.
Interesting.
And somewhere deep in the shadows, a plan began to form.
