"Aigoo,, thanks a lot Ren Di-ah. Here drink this extract red ginseng. Its good for your health. You have to take care for your health in this weather. "
An aunt in his sixties handed him a pack of extract ginseng. Ren drunk it right on the spot to display politeness.
"No not at all, Its nothing, im just helping Uncle Cho since I have nothing to do."
Sluurrp.
"Whoahh. Its delicious. No wonder Aunty looked so healthy. It really is good."
Ren was really honestly marvelled at the effect this drink gave him. As expected of the recipe handed down generation of generation in Cho family. and the rest of Korean peninsula.
"Hohoho, of course. "
After exchanging some pleasantries with Aunt Yee-Eun, Ren got back to the car. It was almost lunchtime. He never thought that Aunt Yee-Euns place was in Ilsan. He almost spurted blood when he saw the address in the GPS.
You know that old saying? Going to the South but ended up up in the North. Thats what he did. He drove from Hanlim in Songpo, dropped the goods to the other store in Gangnam, then went straight to Ilsan up in the north.
"Ahh Im hungry. Lets stop for a bit here."
After only driving for twenty minutes, he could not bear it anymore. His stomach growled so much. Ren decided to stop in a nearby rest area. He only bought two bottle of water though, since he already packed his own lunch. Unfortunately, the seats in front of that mart was fully occupied. Ren had to eat in the van.
"Sigh, I miss Busan so much ...I wonder what those idiots fare without me. maybe they got into a fight and lose miserably?hahaha"
Everytime he saw the lunchbox, it always reminded him of his childhood time in Busan. His mother always made him a big lunchbox for school to be shared with his friends. A sumptuous one, unlike his current meal consisted of rice, vegetable from his own garden, and two little fried fishes. It was truly a pitiful sight. Ren ate his lunch in silent.
Ding ding
Suddenly, a ding broke the silent. It came from his phone. He only took a glance at his phone, and saw the sender. It was from Dae Hwan hyung, his previous employer in construction site company. Just a short message of asking where was he.
Since he was in the middle of eating, Ren decided to reply it later. Only five minutes passed when his rang again. This time it was a call from Dae-Hwan hyung. He wiped away his mouth and hastily accepted the call. But..
"Oh hyung, its-"
"WHAT HYUNG! Yoo, Kang Ren Di, its only been a week and yet you already dare to ignore my message now huh? You've got some balls huh .."
"Sorry hyung.."
"You brat, do you still have a face to call me hyung?"
"I am so sorry , hyung..."
He almost forgot about hyung Dae Hwan's temperament. He got scolded so much. He had to bear with it, and listening his hyungs teaching for almost ten minutes. Ren kept repeating I'm sorry to lessen Dae Hwan's bad mood.
"So where are you right know? Come to the address that I sent you before. Go meet someone by the name Philip Kim. His company is hiring now. Just said that I send you there, got it? Wear something nice. I still have something to do. Bye.
...and then he ended the call.
There was barely any proper conversation. But Ren already got used to it. Thats the way Dae-hwan hyung handled things. Strict, short, and straight to the point. Triple S. Ren opened the message. There was a photo of a business card along with Dae-hwans words.
“Philip Kim, Vice-director of Daeshan Securities?
