Twilight Blood Pact: Twin Psychic Souls

Twilight Blood Pact: Twin Psychic Souls

Chapter 1 A New World

In Venice's Piazza San Marco, sunlight gently bathes the ancient Basilica, shrouding the magnificent structure in a golden glow. The interwoven marks of history and modernity are clearly visible on the piazza's pavement, and every step feels like treading on the veins of time.

Dora sat at a portable easel, absorbed in copying the Basilica of St. Mark. Her brush danced lightly across the paper, outlining the details of the spires and carvings, as if trying to capture the soul of the building into her painting.

The girl's face was lightly covered by a pair of black-framed glasses, through which one could glimpse her sharp black pupils.

Her long hair was like the night sky in the early morning, covering her back, and her long bangs hung down slightly, adding a touch of quiet temperament to her.

At this moment, a few naughty pigeons discovered the bread on the girl's legs. They flapped their wings and tried to approach the girl who was concentrating on painting.

However, there seemed to be some mysterious force stopping them. They could never fly to the girl's legs and could only circle around her, pecking at the crumbs on the ground.

The girl suddenly stopped painting, tilted her head, and looked around at the chubby pigeons with her bright eyes curiously.

A smile appeared on the corner of her mouth, as if she was thinking about something interesting.

"How can I cook it more deliciously?" Dora muttered to herself in a soft and slightly mischievous voice.

This sentence seemed like a curse, making the little pigeons around feel unprecedented fear.

They seemed to understand the girl's hidden meaning, and they all ran away in fear, never daring to approach this seemingly gentle girl again.

The plump pigeons exploded into balls of fluff, and as they fled in panic, they dropped a few feathers. Dora twirled the paintbrush between her fingertips, doubling over with laughter.

The aroma of coffee in the square is intoxicating, the hustle and bustle of people makes people feel the fireworks of life, and the melodious melody of the violin makes everything even more beautiful and moving.

Here, everyone can find their own peace and joy, as if the whole world has become gentle.

Dora gently pushed her glasses up to the top of her head, slowly closed her eyes, and took a deep breath.

At this moment, she seemed to have temporarily forgotten all her worries and sorrows, and completely immersed herself in this unique atmosphere of human life.

The aroma of the cafe, the noise of the crowd, and the melodious music in the distance, all made her feel extremely relaxed and happy.

"Dora," a vibrant figure approached her quickly, accompanied by a rapid call: "Dora, Dora!"

I saw a black-haired beauty waving a file bag in her hand, like a red whirlwind, instantly attracting the attention of many people in the square.

This black-haired beauty was slightly older than Dora, about twenty years old, with a curvaceous figure. In a bright red dress, she looked like a blooming red rose, breathtakingly beautiful.

Dora heard the call and raised her hand to support her forehead, a helpless smile on her face. She knew this friend too well. He was always so impulsive, making her both headache and love him.

"Yara!" Dora responded softly, raising her head.

Receiving Dora's cold gaze, Yara immediately restrained herself a lot. Her expression was like a corgi that had done something wrong. She smiled at Dora ingratiatingly, her eyes full of innocence and apology.

"Why are you in such a hurry again? Everything is done?" Dora asked with a somewhat reproachful tone, but her eyes were full of doting.

"Hey, I'm just worried you'll get impatient." Yara stuck out her tongue and handed the file bag to Dora. "Here, I spent a lot of effort to get it done."

"Don't do this next time. Safety first." Dora took the file bag and patted Yara's shoulder gently.

Yara nodded, transformed into a corgi, and shook Dora's arm. "Got it, Dora. Let's go to that dessert shop quickly, or the 'tiramisu' will be sold out soon."

How could Dora refuse Yara? That was impossible! "Okay, okay, not only do you want to buy tiramisu, but you also want ice cream and egg tarts."

After packing up, the two girls walked hand in hand through the bustling crowd and headed towards the newly opened dessert shop. Their backs looked particularly beautiful in the afterglow of the setting sun, becoming a unique landscape in the square.

Dora and Yara were carrying a large bag of desserts from the dessert shop, and each of them was holding an extra-large ice cream cone. They were walking and chatting as they walked towards their apartment.

The afterglow of the setting sun shines on them, adding a touch of warmth and sweetness to the picture.

Yara was in a particularly cheerful mood. She skipped beside Dora and kept saying:

"The adoption procedures have been completed. Now I am your guardian. You have to be good and obedient." After saying that, she winked at Dora mischievously and touched Dora's head.

Dora raised her eyebrows slightly, her eyes moving, carefully looking at Yara from top to bottom, and then from bottom to top, and then said lightly: "Are you sure?"

There was a hint of nonchalance in her tone, as if she disapproved of Yara's desire to "sing like a liberated serf."

Upon hearing this, Yara couldn't help but tremble all over, then put on a flattering expression: "Not sure, no, I was wrong, Boss. I will always be your number one lackey."

After she finished speaking, she saluted in an exaggerated manner, which made Dora laugh softly, unable to hold back her indifferent expression.

"You little bastard." Dora smiled and shook her head, but her eyes were full of doting.

She sighed softly, and her tone became much softer: "We have come to a new world, and everything starts anew. You can live freely, and don't be bound by me."

When Yara heard this, the playful smile on her face instantly disappeared. She grabbed Dora's arm tightly and asked anxiously, "It doesn't matter which world we are in. You and I will always be family. Are you abandoning me?"

There was a slight tremor in her voice, and it was obvious that she cared very much about Dora's opinion.

Dora looked at Yara, who looked timid but actually so nervous that her hands were shaking slightly, and couldn't help but sigh in her heart.

She took a step forward and hugged Yara tightly:

"Of course we will always be a family. I'm just worried that you want to experience a different life and start all over again. After all, the world we used to live in was so dangerous and complicated."

In Dora's warm embrace, Yara's originally uneasy heart gradually calmed down. She felt the warmth of Dora's arms, as if all her worries and anxieties were dissolved by this warm embrace, and an unprecedented sense of security surged in her heart.

Yara nodded, hugged Dora back, and pressed her chin against Dora's soft black hair.

She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and choked out, "I don't want to leave you, Dora. No matter which world we are in, we must face it together."

Dora patted Yara's back gently and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, Yara. No matter what difficulties you encounter, I will protect you. We have come to a new world and everything can start over."

"Dora, thank you for always being by my side." Yara said softly, with a hint of sob in her voice.

She knew that no matter which world she was in, Dora would always be her most solid support. "I know I'm stupid, but I'll try my best. Please don't abandon me."

"Abandon my head, you make me sound like a scumbag." Dora stood on tiptoe, touched Yara's head, and sighed: "It's obviously you who has always protected me. I can't live without you, my little sun."

Despite her simple and sometimes reckless nature, Yara's sincere and warm heart is like the sunshine on a winter's day, warm and bright. Her smile is always so bright, as if it can dispel all the haze in the world, making people want to get closer.

After a long while, Yara slowly raised her head, looked into Dora's eyes, and said seriously: "Dora, we must work together to live happily in this new world."

Dora, don't be tired of this world, don't be tired of living, and if it really doesn't work, don't leave me alone.

The setting sun stretched their embracing shadows very long, and the golden-red light covered the girls' hair and skirts like a veil.

The distant church bells startled the returning crows, and their clasped palms still held the last ray of warmth.

As the purple-gray twilight began to devour the rosy glow of the sky, no one noticed that the shadows spreading from the tree roots were quietly entwining their figures that were cuddling together.
