Cold Rainy Night

Skylar's POV :

It's midnight soon and it was pouring like dogs and cats, while I had just finished my round of patrolling.

Yes, I'm a policewoman. Although it's a job for tough men, I'm not that weak since I know a few kinds of martial arts. And I've always wanted to work as a person that brings justice. So it's my dream job.

Then, I decided to stop by a convenience store to get myself some hot cocoa and a red bean bun.

After getting what I needed, I left with a hot cocoa on my left while I was taking a bite from the hot and steamy bun.

"Ha...feels warm."

Thankfully I had my umbrella with me and the rain subsided a little.

As I was passing through a rather darker alley, I heard some screams of a terrified man.

"Please have mercy on me! My wife is due soon. I still have a family to look after...please..." A man cried out. It seemed like he was begging someone.

With my personality, I couldn't just leave people in danger alone. So I went and checked what's wrong.

What was before me sent chills down my spine.

Few men in black were standing while one of them, maybe it's their leader, was pointing a gun towards the man begging and crying on the ground.

"You should thought of that before you betrayed me by selling our secret information to our enemies. You've done a wrong thing. Now, any last words? 3, 2, on-"

"Hey! Stop! I'm a police. What are you doing?! Don't kill him! If he did anything wrong, he should be punished according to the law!" I interrupted before he fired the bullets.

And little did I know that my interference would bring forth my miserable days.

He turned his head back and looked at me from top to bottom. His face was beautifully carved, and he looked so gorgeous even though it was raining.

"Hoho woman, I suggest you to back off if you don't want trouble." He said menacingly.

I tried to hide my fear. I mean, who wouldn't be afraid when they're surrounded by tall and scary people with weapons?!

If it were just two and three guys, I would've taken then down easily. But nope, not in a situation like this.

"No! I won't go! Don't just kill innocent people without giving them a chance to change! How could you kill him when his wife and child is waiting for him at home?! Don't you pity the unborn child?!" I let my anger out.

He came forth and grabbed my chin. His grip was strong, I winced in pain.

"Then would you be willing to die for him?" He smirked terrifyingly.

That's it, I lost my temper and shoved his hands away.

"What the-! Are you insane?! You sick bastard! Killing innocent lives!"

He seemed amused by my behaviour.

Then I rearranged my emotions and said, "How about a deal? You let me handle this guy and I won't report you to the police department?"

Some of his men laughed.

I couldn't quite get it.

"Hahahahhaha...fine. Deal. But you owe me a favour and you shall fulfill whatever it is."

"Fine, contact me when you're ready." I said, while passing him my name card and contact number.

Before I walked off, I took the man sitting on the ground with me to the police station.

As I walked away, I shot him a fierce glare. He smirked.
