Episode One: Chaos at AIIMS Bilaspur

The early morning sun streamed through the large windows of AIIMS Bilaspur, glinting off stainless steel counters and the crisp white coats of busy staff. Amid the controlled chaos of patients, monitors beeping, and hurried footsteps, Dr. Chandni Thakur walked into the nurses’ lounge, balancing a cup of milk coffee in one hand and a clipboard in the other.

“Chandni! Already late for rounds?” Nilakahi teased, leaning casually against the counter, her hair perfectly styled despite the morning rush.

“Late? Me? Impossible,” Chandni said, grinning mischievously. “I was just… making sure Koffee didn’t escape again. She’s a master of chaos, you know.”

“Right… your cat is apparently more disciplined than you,” Jasmine said, smirking as she sipped her coffee.

Chandni rolled her eyes dramatically. “Please. Koffee may be fluffy and innocent-looking, but she’s secretly evil. Only I can keep her in line.” She winked at her friends.

Nilakahi nudged her shoulder. “And yet somehow, you can’t even keep track of your own coffee. Did you spill half of it already?”

Chandni looked down at her cup, only half-drunk, and shook her head. “Merely… testing gravity. For science.”

Jasmine snorted. “For science, she says. That’s our Chandni—saving lives and conducting coffee experiments simultaneously.”

Chandni grinned and pulled out a small chocolate bar from her coat pocket. “Don’t even think about stealing this. Strictly for research purposes.”

Nilakahi reached out dramatically. “Research supervision is mandatory. Safety regulations, obviously.”

Jasmine laughed. “You two are impossible. But I love this chaos.”

The morning rounds bell rang, and Chandni tucked her chocolate away. “Alright, ladies. Let’s bring some fun to these patients today. By fun, I mean mild chaos disguised as top-notch medical care.”

The trio dashed into the ward, their laughter mingling with the beeps of monitors and hurried footsteps—a perfect storm of mischief, care, and playful energy that kept AIIMS Bilaspur on its toes.

Chandni pushed open the swinging door to Ward 3, clipboard in hand. The morning sunlight fell across neatly made beds, the faint smell of antiseptic mingling with the aroma of breakfast.

“Good morning, everyone!” she chirped, her voice full of energy. “How are we feeling today? Anyone up for chocolate as motivation?”

A small elderly patient looked up, smiling. “Chocolate? You doctors really spoil us!”

Chandni laughed and scribbled a few notes. “Well, I take my duties very seriously—especially the chocolate part.”

At the nurses’ station, Nilakahi whispered, “Why does she always do this? Patients love her chaos more than her competence.”

Jasmine smirked. “Because she’s secretly adorable. And a little crazy. Perfect combination.”

Chandni overheard and grinned. “I heard that!” she called out, waving her hand like a queen addressing her subjects. “Yes, I am adorable. You may proceed with your admiration now.”

Nilakahi rolled her eyes but smiled, while Jasmine chuckled.

Just then, Dr. Sharma, a senior physician known for his serious demeanor, walked by. “Chandni! Focus on the charts, not the theatrics. Patients need care, not entertainment.”

Chandni saluted dramatically. “Yes, sir! Entertaining and curing—multitasking is my specialty.”

Dr. Sharma muttered under his breath, shaking his head. “Impossible.”

By mid-morning, Chandni was juggling rounds, comforting anxious patients, and sneaking chocolate bites whenever no one was watching. Even Koffee, her imaginary stand-in in the hospital (“she’s watching, I promise!”), seemed to be cheering her on in spirit.

Later, while checking vitals of a young child, Chandni noticed the little patient clutching a worn-out toy. “Hey there, that’s a brave toy you’ve got,” she said, crouching down. “It needs some chocolate too, don’t you think?”

The child giggled, and Chandni pulled a small piece of chocolate from her pocket. “Science,” she said solemnly, “requires sharing.”

Nilakahi and Jasmine watched from the corner, exchanging knowing glances. “She really is chaos with a heart,” Nilakahi whispered.

“Yes,” Jasmine agreed. “And somehow, everyone—patients, nurses, doctors—just can’t resist her.”

As Chandni moved on to the next patient, clipboard in hand and chocolate safely stashed, the hospital seemed brighter, warmer, and just a little more chaotic, all thanks to the playful energy of Dr. Chandni Thakur.
