Mia walked into the classroom, her steps slow and shoulders slightly slumped. Her best friend, Bella, wasn’t there today, and the thought made her heart sink. The morning had felt incomplete without her presence.
Just as she settled into her seat, she felt someone call her name—and before she could react, she was enveloped in a tight hug.
“Mia!” Bella’s voice rang with excitement.
Mia’s face lit up instantly. She hugged her back with all her energy and joy.
“Oh my God! You’re here! I thought you wouldn’t come! I love you, Senorita! Yahooooo! You’re here! I’m so happy!” Mia practically jumped in delight, her feet leaving the floor for a moment.
Bella laughed, the sound bright and contagious. She grabbed Mia’s hand and tugged her toward the first seat. “Calm down, you’re going to scare the whole class,” she teased, still laughing.
The hours flew by, filled with lectures and assignments. Soon enough, the mid-morning bell rang, and both girls eagerly made their way toward the campus café.
As they approached, Julian came running from behind, his steps quick and purposeful. The moment he saw Bella, his face broke into a wide grin. He practically leapt forward and enveloped her in a bear hug.
“Senorita! My sweet Senorita! Where were you? We waited for you all morning!” His voice was a mixture of relief and excitement. “Now that you’re here, let’s grab something to eat—I’m starving!”
Mia and bella rolled her eyes playfully an said in unison“Huh, foodie.”
They settled at a table and placed their orders. The café buzzed with students, but the three of them were in their own little world, laughing and chatting freely.
Halfway through the meal, Mia leaned closer, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Hey Senorita, you know what? Today, Julian’s paying for us… and he’s taking us shopping afterward.”
Julian literally choked on his food, coughing and waving his hands frantically, while Mia burst into laughter at his reaction. Bella’s eyes widened in delight, her hands flying to her mouth.
Recovering after a few moments, Julian scowled playfully. “Yeah, yeah, I remember… you little witch.”
Bella’s eyes grew even wider. “Mia! Pinch me! Am I dreaming?”
Mia playfully pinched her, and Bella winced,
“Ouch! Julian… and shopping? This is something unusual… Is it something special?”
Mia leaned closer and shared all the details with Bella, making both of them laugh. Julian, sitting nearby, made a mock-annoyed face.
“Bella, I didn’t expect this from you,” he said, wiping fake tears from his face, which only made them laugh harder.
Bella grinned and said,
“You’re safe—today I’m going shopping with my dad. Why don’t you join us?”
Bella’s suggestion made both Julian and Mia extremely happy, and they quickly agreed. After finishing their remaining classes, Julian went to Sebastian’s classroom to inform him about the shopping plan with Bella.
Later, during the drive to the mall, Bella sat excitedly in the car beside her father, Richard, while Mia and Julian chatted. Richard glanced at them and asked,
“How was your day, kids?”
Julian smiled and said,
“It could have been bad, but you saved me, so now my day is amazing.”
Both girls laughed at Julian’s statement, and Richard gave him a curious look.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
Bella explained with a mischievous smile,
“Today it’s his turn to take us shopping, but I already planned it with you, so now he’s happy.”
She high-fived Mia, and the car was filled with laughter and cheerful chatter as they headed toward the mall.
Well, Mia and Julian were secretly buying lots of gifts for Senorita because tomorrow was her birthday. After finishing the shopping, they went for lunch, chatting and laughing non-stop. Richard Harrison also joined them, thoroughly enjoying their lively company.
Mia and Julian were completely at ease around Bella’s father; they considered him part of their little circle since he was so close to their best friend. After lunch, Richard drove the Whitmore kids back to their mansion. Once they were dropped off, he started heading toward the Harrison mansion, about fifteen minutes away.
During the drive, he glanced at Bella and asked with a playful tone,
“Princess, am I forgiven?”
Bella blinked, a little confused, and then realization hit her. She had been upset with her father earlier, but now she felt her heart lighten. “Oh yes! I was angry… hahaha! Yes, yes—you’re forgiven!” she said happily.
Richard smiled at her, pride and love shining in his eyes. At that moment, his phone started ringing. The caller ID showed Abby Harrison. He answered through his Bluetooth, listening with a grin, which made Bella furrow her brows in curiosity.
“What happened, Dad? Why are you so happy?” she asked.
“Nothing, Princess. You’re forgiven, that’s why I’m happy,” Richard replied, his tone soft and teasing.
Bella giggled, planting a quick kiss on his cheek. Soon after, the car pulled into the Harrison mansion driveway. Bella rushed inside to find her mother. Susan greeted her with a warm kiss on the cheek and asked gently about her day.
Meanwhile, Richard and Susan exchanged a brief, secretive glance. Using their private code language, he asked something, and Susan blinked, giving a thumb-up. Richard winked in return, a silent message passing between them.
Bella, completely exhausted from the day, didn’t waste a second. She ran straight to her room, kicked off her shoes, and slumped onto her bed, falling into a deep, peaceful sleep.
