The lie and Power Awaken

Chapter 4 – The Lie And Dead of Cyn

The heavy footsteps grew louder until a figure stepped into the chamber. It was J. Her cold eyes scanned the room before she lowered her head slightly.

“Commander S. Vice-Secretary E,” she said, her voice firm. “It’s an honor.”

S and E nodded back, keeping their composure.

S tilted his head. “J… why are you here? And what happened to your team? V and N?”

A shadow crossed J’s face. “They turned traitor. They betrayed the company. I was ordered to punish them—erase their base—and that little Solver user… Uzi.”

The moment the name Uzi left her mouth, both S and E stiffened. Inside, anger burned hot, but they forced themselves to stay calm, not letting their reactions show.

S asked carefully, “And… Cyn? What became of her?”

For the first time, J’s voice trembled. “She… lost.”

The words hit like thunder.

S and E exchanged quick glances. For years, they had been chained by Cyn’s shadow. Now, if what J said was true, that shadow was gone. Their hearts surged with relief—joy, even. They could finally be free. And Uzi, a Solver user, defeating Cyn alone? It was unthinkable, but… worthy of praise.

“Impressive,” E murmured. “That’s… something to celebrate.”

S smirked faintly. “Finally.”

A Suspicion

J’s eyes narrowed. She sniffed the air, her expression darkening.

“There’s a worker drone nearby.”

Instantly, Remee’s heart jumped in her hiding place. She held her breath, terrified.

But S waved a claw dismissively. “You’re probably just smelling the corpses outside. Don’t worry. No one alive would come here.”

“Agreed,” E added smoothly. “It’s just the dead.”

J studied them both for a moment, then let it go. “…Fine. But don’t get careless.”

She turned her gaze back. “Our next destination is the USA.”

S frowned. “Why the USA?”

“There are secrets buried there,” J replied, her tone sharp. “Cyn’s creatures linger. Some are unstable, out of control. Some… have evolved. That’s where our mission leads.”

E and S nodded. “Understood.” Together, they moved toward the hatch.

Almost Found

But J lingered. Instead of leaving, she prowled through the shadows of the ship. Her eyes scanned the corners, her steps slow and deliberate.

Remee crouched low, holding her breath so hard her chest ached. She didn’t dare move—until her hand brushed against a loose piece of scrap metal.

Clink.

The sound was small, but it echoed like thunder.

J spun instantly, her weapon raised. She approached the spot, scanning with deadly focus. When she found nothing, she frowned.

“…Must’ve been a mouse.”

In her hiding place, Remee’s cheeks burned with rage. Mouse?! She wanted to shout, but clamped her hands over her mouth just in time.

The Shot

S and E re-entered the chamber just as J stepped back, satisfied.

“Everything clear?” E asked.

J gave a curt nod. “Yes. Let’s move.”

But at that moment, fate betrayed Remee. From the opposite side of the room, she tried to slip quietly toward another exit—only for J’s sharp eyes to catch the movement.

“Wait an intruder!.”

Her gun rose, glowing with deadly light.

Remee froze.

And before she could react—

The muzzle flash blinding remee.

Remee squeezed her eyes shut, bracing for the bullet to kill and knows she couldn’t dodge. But instead of pain, there was silence.

When she dared to open her eyes them again, she saw S—his claw outstretched, the bullet crushed between his metal fingers. With a sharp flick, he hurled it to the ground and fired back at J, forcing her to leap aside.

J eyes narrowed. The image of a commander is protecting a worker drone flickered in her mind—memories of N shielding Uzi. Disgust twisted across her face.

“So, Commander… you’ve betrayed us too?”

S growled, standing protectively in front of Remee.

“You talk too much J.”

E stepped up beside him, voice steady.

“Why would we kill her? She’s just a child and cyn is dead so-- no one can rule us?! Is it right S?.”

S smile

That calm smile on them. Made J angry and loneliness.

“Traitors,” she spat.

Her hands sparked with energy, unleashing a shockwave that sent S and E crashing into the walls. Metal screeched. Sparks flew. Remee was thrown to the ground, dazed.

S tried to stand, vision blur and glitching. He could barely make out J aiming her weapon—straight at Remee.

“Time to erase the problem.”

The shot fired.

But midway through, the bullet was block by a tendrils. Hovering in midair like black subs thing. itself had stopped.

J’s eyes widened.

“No… no, it can’t be—”

Remee was trembling, clutching her face. Her other hand glowed with something unnatural. Black tendrils of Solver energy coiled from her fingertips, locking the bullet in place before disintegrating it into dust.

J’s voice cracked.

“Solver… you’re a Solver user?!” Fear overwhelmed her, and she stumbled back, shaking her head.

“No, no, I won’t fight you—I’m sorry! I won’t let you life! fare well who ever are you? bye”

But the black tentacles attack J.

J seeing in horror she bolted into the storm outside, vanishing into the blizzard.

S forced himself upright, staring at the remee in disbelief.

“She… she has Solver?”

Remee was out of control her tendrils are causing damage to their surroundings. S dash and slice the black tendrils, remee fell down and E caught it in time.

E softening her expression.

“Impressive, Remee. Very impressive.”

Remee stared at her hands, horrified.

“H-how… how did I do that?!”

E placed a hand on her shoulder, voice low.

“There is no need to be afraid.Tell me… were either of your parents infected?”

At the mention, memories stirred. Remee thought of her mother—the disappearance, the strange feeling she never understood.

“I… I don't? I think my mom was infected?"

She fainted out

Both S and E exchanged a glance. Curiosity and unease mixed in their eyes, but they held back their questions. The truth about Rena could wait.

Instead, S straightened and gestured to the hatch.

“We need to move. Now.”

The storm howled, but the trio answered in silence as they descended from the ship.

With no hesitation, E bent down, and letting Remee climb onto her back while she is regaining her system. E wings unfolded with a metallic snap.

And then they flew—metal wings tearing through the storm. Snow whipped across their faces, shards of ice stinging against their metallic skin. The wind is cold enough to bite through steel. Remee completed her system reboot, her vision flickering back to life. She saw the world rushing beneath them, the storm stretching endlessly across the sky. And yet, she only laughed and screamed, clinging tighter as the storm consumed her. For the first time in her existence… she felt free.

Far below, hidden in the storm’s veil, J watched their silhouettes vanish into the sky. Her fists trembled.

“You’ll pay for this… Commander. You and E both.”
