CHAPTER 4 (CONTINUED)

---

The collar clicked shut. Jae-min’s pulse roared in his ears. The leather hugged his throat, the gold ring gleamed like a spotlight on his humiliation.

Kolai stepped back, satisfied, adjusting his gloves like he’d just finished tying up paperwork instead of chaining a living, breathing Omega.

Jae-min’s lip curled. “Wow. Fucking congratulations. What’s next, Daddy? You gonna buy me a matching leash and take me on walks?”

Kolai arched a brow. “If you keep running your mouth, yes.”

The brat laughed, loud and mocking. “God, you’re predictable. Big scary Alpha, cold gray eyes, black suit every day like it’s a goddamn funeral. What are you compensating for, huh? Dick too small? Heart too shriveled? Hairline running away so you distract people with cigars?”

One of the guards actually choked. Another coughed to hide his laugh.

Kolai didn’t flinch. Just stared at him, silent, patient.

Jae-min stepped closer, finger jabbing into his chest. “You think this makes you powerful? This?!” He tugged at the collar, nails scraping leather. “Newsflash: I’ve worn chokers hotter than this on dates with people who actually knew how to fuck.”

The room went dead quiet.

Kolai’s lips twitched—half amusement, half warning. “Careful, brat.”

“Oh, what, did I hurt your Alpha pride?” Jae-min sneered, pacing like a stand-up comic on stage. “Here’s the thing—you’re old, you’re boring, and you smell like a goddamn ashtray. I don’t care how many men salute you, or how many cigars you light, or how many collars you’ve got lying around. At the end of the day, you’re just another washed-up bastard who can’t stand the thought of someone not kneeling to him.”

The guards shifted nervously. One muttered in Russian under his breath, eyes darting to Kolai.

Still—Kolai didn’t move. Didn’t yell. Didn’t strike. He just leaned back against the table, eyes fixed on Jae-min with the steady patience of a predator watching prey tire itself out.

“You done?” he asked finally, voice low.

Jae-min froze, chest heaving, throat raw from shouting. The collar pressed tight against his skin with every breath.

He wanted to scream more. To bite, to claw, to tear. But the longer Kolai stared, unshaken, the more his bravado curdled into heat in his stomach—humiliation, fury, want tangled into one.

Kolai smirked. “Good. Save some fire for the wedding.”
