DREAMS VS REALITY

The announcement came in the summer of 2017—BTS World Tour.

The internet exploded with excitement, hashtags trended worldwide. But sadness hovered on Aarohi's face. They weren’t coming to her city. She imagined it all: the fan chants, the purple ocean of light sticks, all BTS members on the stage their laughter, performance beside that Taehyung's smile and his childish behavior lit up the whole stadium.

For weeks, she lived in that dream. She checked ticket prices again and again. She checked her savings jar every night, she saved the money from her pocket money. She whispered to herself, “You can do this, Aarohi Just a little more.”

But dreams can be cruel.

Tickets sold out within minutes, vanishing before her eyes. Even if she’d been fast enough, the money wasn’t enough. Travel, food, and all the extras—completely impossible.

The night of the concert, her chest felt hollow, there was a pain in her heart. Social media overflowed with pictures—purple lights glowing like stars, fans singing and chanting their names, Taehyung’s voice echoing through the stadium.

She shut her phone, rolled up herself in a blanket on the bed, and pressed the play button on the playlist.

Her room became her own stadium. She made a light stick. Suddenly tears started falling from her eyes.

When Taehyung’s solo voice filled the air.

She stood in front of the mirror and whispered to her reflection, "One day, I’ll be there. One day, I’ll see you with my own eyes."
