Johan held Taehyung close. “I love you too, my child. And I promise you… I’ll fulfill all those promises. I’m so sorry… for everything.”
After that, Taehyung quietly walked to his room, his heart heavy. He stepped into the shower, letting the warm water fall over him, hoping it would wash away the weight of the day. When he finished, he laid down on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
His mind wouldn't stop spinning.
Who is the guy I'm going to marry? What is he like? What does he dislike… what does he like? Is he a good guy or a bad guy?
Does he even know I’m an omega? Or whatever my father chose for me...
But… I think he is a good guy, Taehyung thought, because he’s paying off my father’s debts. So… maybe he is a good guy.
He looked at the clock. I should go to sleep now. If Jimin knows I’m still awake this late, he’ll be so angry, he thought, chuckling softly.
He hugged his teddy bear tightly.
“Good night, Teddy,” he whispered.
And with that, he closed his eyes and drifted into sleep.
The next morning, Taehyung opened his eyes and gasped. “I’m late!” he said, sitting up quickly.
He rushed to wash up and get dressed. When he came down to the dining table, he noticed some guests had arrived and were speaking to his father in the study.
Taehyung quietly went to eat his breakfast.
At that moment, Park Bogum walked into the house. His eyes landed on Taehyung, who was wearing a fancy outfit. A soft, almost amused smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.
Without saying a word, Bogum made his way to Johan’s study.
A maid came in and politely said, “Sir, the guest is here to see you.”
Johan looked up and saw Bogum. “Welcome, son. Come, sit,” he said warmly.
Bogum smiled. “Hello, ohh… thank you.”
“So, uncle,” Bogum began, “is he ready for the marriage?”
Johan sighed, then nodded. “Oh yes, son. He is ready. But first, promise me one thing… that you’ll always care for Taehyung and make him happy. I know I’m not in a position to argue, but I want my son safe. So can you promise that?”
Bogum smiled slightly. “I promise, sir. I will care for Taehyung and take good care of him. I will make him happy.”
“Thank you, son,” Johan said sincerely.
Bogum chuckled. “Sir, you're now my father-in-law. Don’t say ‘thank you’ — we’re family now.”
Johan smiled.
Bogum continued, “So, what date is suitable for the wedding? Can we manage the wedding on his birthday? His birthday is coming soon.”
“Oh yes, that date is suitable,” Johan replied. “We can arrange the wedding on Taehyung’s birthday.”
“Okay,” Bogum said. “So everything is decided. Uncle, don’t worry — I’ll arrange all the things. You just come with your family. I’ll also arrange Taehyung’s wedding dress, I hope you don’t mind.”
“Oh, that’s good, son. I don’t mind it,” Johan said.
“Then it’s all settled. I have a meeting now, so I’ll take my leave,” Bogum said, standing.
“Okay, son,” Johan said, hugging him. Bogum left the house.
Johan then walked over to Taehyung, who was quietly finishing breakfast, and sat next to him.
“Taehyung, baby,” he said gently.
“Good morning, Dad.”
“Good morning, son. Baby, Bogum and I have arranged and decided your wedding date. You don’t mind, right? He wants to marry you as soon as possible.”
Taehyung looked down for a moment, something hidden deep in his heart, but he didn’t show it. “Dad, I don’t mind. I know you always do what’s best for me.”
But he still felt a little sad.
“I’m going to my room,” Taehyung said, standing.
“Wait, baby,” his father said. “You didn’t ask what date we decided.”
“Oh, I forgot,” Taehyung said with a small smile. “So, what’s the date?”
“Your birthday,” his father said softly. “Valentine’s Day. He wants to marry you then.”
“Oh… my birthday?” Taehyung blinked. “Okay… that’s nice. I’m happy about that.”
“You’re okay with it?” Johan asked.
“Yes, Dad. Why wouldn’t I be?”
He gave his father a small smile, then walked to his room. Once inside, he hugged his teddy bear tightly and suddenly — tears rolled down his cheeks.
“Why… can’t I get over this?” he whispered.
A soft knock came from the door.
Taehyung quickly wiped his tears. “Come in, Jimin.”
Jimin opened the door.
“When did you start knocking?” Taehyung teased. “You always come into my room without knocking.”
Suddenly, Jimin rushed forward and hugged him tightly. “You’re marrying someone...?”
Taehyung froze. “Who told you that?”
“Dad,” Jimin said quietly.
Taehyung hugged him back. “Yes, ChimChim. But you have to be happy. Why are you crying?”
Jimin, of course, knew everything — he was his brother.
“I know why you agreed,” Jimin whispered.
“Shhh,” Taehyung said, wiping Jimin’s tears. “Don’t be sad. I agreed to this marriage because I know father always chooses what’s good for me.”
He gave him a soft smile. “Hehe… so don’t be sad.”
Taehyung stood and stretched. “So… I’m going shopping.”
Jimin pouted. “Ahm… I know you’re sad, so you don’t want to go with me.”
“Hm?” Taehyung looked over.
“I’m also going!” Jimin grinned. “Can we go shopping now?”
Taehyung chuckled. “Yeah, let’s go get ready.”
“Yay!” Jimin shouted as he ran to his room.
Taehyung stood still for a moment, looking at himself in the mirror.
“You can do it… no matter what, Taehyung,” he whispered, then gave himself a small, determined smile.
