Episode 2 – The Vow of Chains

The Demon Court stank of smoke and blood, their whispers crawling across the walls like snakes. Lucien stood bound in crimson chains that burned his skin with every twitch. His jaw was clenched, crimson eyes locked on the figure beside him—the golden Angel Prince who radiated light as if the very air bent to his will.

At the head of the hall, the Demon King raised his clawed hand.

“Tonight, the bond will be forged. My son will live. And Heaven will pay the price of binding themselves to Hell.”

Gasps, laughter, and curses rippled through the room.

“He’ll taint the angel.”

“No—maybe the angel will break him first.”

“Or maybe both will destroy each other, and we’ll be free of them both.”

Behind the court’s jeering faces, shadows moved in secret. A cluster of high demons, their horns etched with blood runes, leaned together.

“Once the angel is chained to him, he will be vulnerable.”

“Yes… we strike when they are bound. Kill the half-blood and the angel in one breath.”

“No throne, no prophecy fulfilled.”

They smirked, already weaving treachery in silence.

But Lucien’s focus wasn’t on them. His eyes never left Caelum.

“You really think I’ll let this happen?” Lucien snarled under his breath, tugging at his burning restraints. “I’d rather rot in hellfire than be shackled to you.”

Caelum’s gaze slid to him, calm, sharp as a blade. He reached out and gripped Lucien’s chains, his hand glowing with divine power. The metal hissed, melting at his touch, until Lucien’s wrists were free—only to find Caelum’s hand clamped around them instead.

“You fight too much,” Caelum whispered, voice quiet enough that only Lucien could hear. “You don’t understand yet, do you? This isn’t a choice. You’re mine because I said so.”

Lucien spat, trying to yank free, but his knees buckled. His chaotic power—half light, half shadow—was spiraling again. Flames burst from his fingertips, searing the floor, but Caelum pulled him close, pressing their foreheads together. The golden aura of an angel wrapped around them both, and instantly, the storm inside Lucien stilled.

Lucien’s breath hitched, his pride burning.

“Why… why does it stop when you touch me?” he demanded.

Caelum smirked, his voice dripping with possession.

“Because your body already knows who it belongs to.”

The court went silent as Caelum raised his glowing hand high. A halo of fire and light flared between them, transforming into a chain of burning gold. It wrapped around Lucien’s throat, down his chest, and then around Caelum’s hand, binding them together.

The Demon King roared, “The bond is sealed!”

Lucien gasped as the golden chain pulsed, sinking into his skin like molten fire. It was permanent, unbreakable. He stumbled, teeth clenched, fury in his eyes.

“You bastard…” he hissed at Caelum.

But Caelum only leaned down, his lips brushing Lucien’s ear, his whisper sharp as a dagger:

“I told you. You are mine now. Even if I have to burn down both Heaven and Hell to keep you.”

The hall erupted with cheers, curses, and mutters. Behind the noise, the plotting demons slipped away, their whispers venomous.

“Let them play lovers and rulers. Soon, their bond will be their undoing. When the half-blood falls, the angel will fall with him… and both realms will bleed.”
