Roxanne sobbed silently watching the one she love from afar making out with her so called best friend. She has always suspected there is something going on between the two but she didn't want to destroy the relationship between them as they were her only friends but now it doesn't count anymore because they both didn't worth it. It seems ridiculous no matter how she thinks about it because happiness seems void in her every single moment of her life.

Taking the courage to confront them, she interrupted their sweet moment

You two care to explain what's going on here? She asked

What does it seems like? Her friend, Amelia snapped. Her face no longer showing the fake smile she usually put on

Amelia, calm down. Rex said

I am tired of pretending, Rex is my boyfriend now so stay away from him. Do you think I will really stoop so low to be your friend if not because of Rex. Your existence alone is disgusting and I feel suffocated to whenever I see your annoying face. Amelia said, disdain evident in her voice

Is it all true? Roxanne asked

It was fine toying with you and watching you get toyed with like an idiot. Rex said grabbing Amelia's hand as they walked away

Roxanne, why did you want to quit all of a sudden? Mrs Blake, the owner of the restaurant where she worked asked feeling regretful that her best employee is quitting.

It's personal Mrs Blake. I hope you find another person more better than I am . Roxanne said smiling politely

You are telling me on such short notice, how am I going to find a replacement so soon and who can be as good and dilligent as you. I am sorry it's small, take it as compensation for your hard work. Mrs Blake said stretching two envelopes to her. One containing her salary and the other containing what she called compensation which is almost as fat as her salary

Mrs Blake..... She stuttered finding it hard to believe

Far away from city a, Roxanne told in front of a house a bitter smile spread on her lips as she took in the quiet environment which holds so many memories but none of those memories could be cherished. She never thought she would come back here one day. Seeing the shadows of her little self begging her mom not to leave right there at the door and the way she was kicked away. You are a jinx and I'm not your mother.

The words echo in her ears, the memories she tried so hard to bury deep down, they are resurfacing now

When your mother is back to her senses she'll come back for you this trash. I regret being your father. You are just a useless piece of trash. Her father said

Dad please don't leave me too, tell mom to come back. I promise I will be good, I will work hard and become the best student, I will not disturb your work, I will be obedient so please don't leave. Her little self cried begging her father hoping he'll look at her with affectionate eyes and pick her up into his arms and tell her it's okay, it's for e and that everything is just a joke but it's all wishful thinking because she pleaded with them both while waiting in the snowy night incase they come back till she almost freeze to death.

You are 19 not 5 anymore ,they don't worth your tears. She told herself wiping her eyes clean as she packed her stuffs in, ready to settle in and see what kind of life awaits her in this city of where she came to find peace
