Chap. 4

*Zantae's POV*

"Sir, there's something wrong," Liam said, bursting into the meeting room. Liam was one of the company's financial managers, and his expression was grave.

"What is it, Liam?" I replied, my curiosity piqued.

"I just saw that 30% of the restaurant profits in Italy was taken out," he stated, his voice low.

I nodded, "I know about that. I was the one who made the news public today."

Liam's eyes widened slightly, but he nodded and said, "You can leave now, sir?"

"Okay, sir," Liam said, before leaving the meeting room.

The other attendees of the meeting looked at each other curiously, and I could sense their questions. What was going on with the Italian branch? Why had Liam looked so concerned?

I decided to clear the air. "Someone has been embezzling funds from our Italian branch and covering it up," I explained. "I already sent Kion over there to sort things out. I should be hearing back from him in a couple of hours."

The room fell silent as everyone digested the information. I could see the shock and concern on their faces.

After the meeting ended,and several other meetings for the day, I decided to give Kion a call. I wanted to know what information he had gotten already.

"Hey, any updates ?" I asked, as soon as he picked up the phone.

"Hey," Kion replied. "I'm close to figuring it out. I've been going through the financial records, and I think I've found a trail that leads to the person who has been taking out from the profits."

"That's good, Keep me posted on any developments."

"I will, Tae. I'll call you as soon as I have more information." he said hanging up the phone.

After a long workday, I decided to head home. As I arrived, I took a well deserved shower, then I changed into comfortable clothes and sat down on the couch. I wanted to clear my head, there was so mich going on and I thaught that I needed a break from all that. I decided to go to the gym but before that I had a call to make.

I picked up my phone and dialed a number. "Hey, I need you to do something for me," I said, as soon as the person on the other end picked up.

"What's that?" the person replied.

"I need you to look after a girl for me and report back to me, ensure that no one catches you" I said. "She's sixteen years old, she's an 11th grader, she goes to Yxz High, she lives with her mother one of the Top business woman in Asia, Lara Kim .

"Okay, got it. What's her name?" he asked

"Talia Kim" I said in an slightly excited tone.

He whistled. "Sounds like she's a special girl."

I smiled. "Just find her, okay?"

"Okay," he said. "I'll get right on it. I'll apply for the security post there and buy an apartment close by"

"But there is already a security gaurd at the school." I told him.

"Not for long, I'll get on that right now sir, by tonight I will be in another apartment and tomorrow I'll the at my new post at the school" he said.

"Thanks Tyler" I said hanging up.

Tyler was like my left hand man, he was the person I asked to do "things" I didn't want Kion finding out about. He was the seond person I trusted on one of the only two. I once saved his life and took him ffrom a living hell when we were kids, he never stopped following me since. He swore he would always be by my side and did whatever he could go satisfy me and I did use him the way he wanted me to.

After the call ended I went to the gym to clear my head. It was one of the only ways I could stop thinking and focus on anything else. It was like my comfort place. After a comforting session at the gym I went home and took another shower then headed to bed.

Before heading to bed I decided to call back Tyler to see if he got through.

"Hey Umm did you get through" I asked as soon as he picked up tbe phone.

"Which one are you talking about" Tyler asked.

"Ummmm.." I was about to say something when he cut me off.

"I'm joking I've already moved into the apartment and I got the job I'll be starting tomorrow."

"Okay good, ensure you report everything back to me" I said hanging up.

*Talia's POV*

I woke up super tired from yesterday, I got home super late but I had a lot of fun. I was already tired and I woke up late, so I had to get ready for school. I quickly got ready and stopped at a coffee shop before I headed to school as I needed the caffine.

When I got to school, the head master was announcing a new security gaurd, he said that our old security gaurd quit and he was lucky enough to find a replacement that quickly. It was very shocking to me as Mr. Hung did not seem like the type to quit like that and and how did the school find a replacment so quickly. I was snapped out of my thaughts by a sudden kiss.

"What has gotten you so dazed" Tanner asked releasing me from the kiss.

"hmm nothing much, I was just thinking" I replied.

"About" he asked raising his eyebrow.

"As I said nothing much" I ssid kissimg him on his lips so he could stop asking me questions. "Well I'll see you later I've got to get to class, and I"m sorry about yesterday" I said walking off.

I looked back at him to see a little smirk on his lips. I decided to apologize as it was the right thing to do but I didn't really mean it. I mean I should as I was wrong, I treated him so bad and he is mh boyfriend but I didn't.

School ended and I was heading home when someone tapped me on the shoulder. "Xia?"

"That's not my name" I said turning around to see who it was. It was the new security gaurd.

"Ohh, I'm sorry" he said "I got you mixed up with someone else"

"That's fine" I replied.

"But what is your name if you don't mind me asking."

"It's Talia.." I said.

"Okay, Ummm don't get me wrong you just looked so much like someone I was curious about you." he replied sounding all defensive.

"Xia right?, It's fine though" I said turning to leave.

I decided to leave school earlier today as I felt a little tried so I left tje girls and Tanner at school and was going home by self.
