Episode 1 (Dilemma)

Hearing the chiming bell announcing the school meet the end of the day. There is a boy walk out in front of the school entrance. Looking around finding someone nearby.

Daniel: "Where is mommy?"

Looking around for his mother outside school. Then he found his mother's car. His mother, Jane Huang greeted her son with a smile. About 30 minutes waiting for her son finished school. Daniel walks toward his mom.

Daniel: "Found you, mommy!"

Jane: "Oh, I found you too, honey!"

Jane hugs her son.

Jane: "Okay, get into the car. Your dear Grandpa, grandma, and uncles already waited for you at home for lunch now."

Daniel: "Okay mom."

He sits next to the driver seat at the front.

Jane: "Sit tight honey. And do not forget your…"

Look at her son with a smile and raise her eyebrow

Daniel: "Alright, the seat belt."

He pulled the seat belt and sound clicking heard.

Jane: "Good boy. Now, Let’s go."

She starts the car and drives home. Their car passes a black car that just arrives in front of the school.

Maurice: "Sir, we have already arrived at school."

Alexander: "Okay"

He looked for his daughter from inside the car. Then he saw his daughter walking out of her class with her friends. He walked out of the car. While talking to her friend, Aurora saw her father walking toward her with a smile.

Aurora: "Daddy!"

She runs to her daddy happily. And hug him.

Alexander: "Yes, my princess. Did you enjoy your school today?"

Alexander lifted her up and put her in his arms.

Aurora: "Hurm… very much my dear daddy."

Answering her daddy's question with a smile. These father and daughter having conversations while walking toward the car.

Alexander: "Alright. Since you really enjoy today. What do you want to have for lunch? Your happy smile seems too much for me to handle."

Aurora: "Oh, am I allowed to choose today?"

Alexander: "You should today. Because your daddy did not feel like eating noodles or rice today. So, do you want to help me choose my meals today?"

Aurora: "You are great daddy. Hmm, how about having some fried chicken with mashed potato?"

Alexander: "It is on you."

Aurora: "Hehehe, yeah!"

Maurice opened the door for them. They got in the car and sat in the back seat.

Aurora: "Uncle Maurice, we are going to have lunch at Fried Chicken Restaurant in town. Would you please take us there?"

Maurice: "Of course, my dear young lady."

Aurora: "Alright! Hehehe."

Maurice starts the car and drives to the restaurant that Aurora requested to have lunch.

-- At Huang Mansion --

Jane and Daniel arrive at home. Mr. and Mrs. Huang already waited for their grandchild in the front house. Daniel saw his grandparent. He quickly opened the car door and shut it. He runs toward his grandparent.

Daniel: "Grandpa! Grandma! I am back!"

Mr. & Mrs. Huang: "Yes you are"

Mr. Huang: "Oh come here my baby Daniel. Give your grandpa a big hug."

Mrs.Huang pushed her husband slightly next to her.

Mrs. Huang: "I am sorry Mr. Huang. But lady first."

She talks to her husband with confidence.

Mr.Huang: "Ahhh. That’s your grandma."

Daniel laughs seeing the scene. He hugs his grandma first then follows with grandpa. Jane cannot stand seeing that scene and laugh too.

Jane: "If my dear brothers Jensen and Jerrett saw that. They probably got jealous."

She continues to laugh.

Jensen & Jerrett: "You are right, Jane."

Replying to Jane while standing at the balcony above the entrance house.

Jane: "I already said."

They laughed.

Mr. Huang: "These two monkey sons really never care about my feelings. The more aging, the more monkeys they are."

Mr. Huang looked at his grandchild.

Mr. Huang: "Daniel, you should never copy your uncle's act to avoid being a monkey-like them."

Mrs.Huang: "Haish, let’s go to eat lunch. Seeing them arguing father sons most probably not finished in a thousand years."

They walked into the house.

Jane: "Daniel go put your things in your room. Change your shirt then we have lunch together okay."

Daniel:"Alright mom."

Jane: "Mom, I go upstairs first to get change."

Jane tells her mother to get change first.

Mrs. Huang: "Ah you should."

Jane goes upstairs.

Mrs. Huang: "Elizabeth!"

Mrs. Huang calling the maid since she did not her around.

Elizabeth: "Yes, Madam Huang."

Mrs. Huang: "Are the meals ready?"

Elizabeth: "Yes, Madam Huang."

Mrs. Huang: "Alright, then please go take Mr. Huang medicine in the bedroom. He needs to eat medicine while having lunch."

Elizabeth: "Alright, Madam."

Mrs.Huang saw Jensen & Jerrett walking downstairs while talking.

Mrs.Huang: "You brothers should walk faster or your future bride left you soon if walking slowly like that."

Jensen & Jerrett: "Mom!"

Then, they rushingly walked downstairs.

Mrs. Huang: "Just joking. Hahahaha."

Jensen & Jerrett looked at each other.

Mrs.Huang: "Go take your seat."

The brothers take the seat. Mr.Huang was already sitting there. They are waiting for Jane and Daniel to come.

-- At Wang Mansion --

After having lunch at the town, they go back to Wang Mansion to drop Aurora in his parents' care. When they arrived, they already saw Mr. and Mrs.Wang waiting for them at the mansion entrance.

Alexander: "Dear, I need to rush to the office now. You stayed at home with grandpa and grandma okay. After I finish my work, I pick you and we go back to our house okay."

Aurora: "You are busy?"

Alexander: "Yes, I am."

Aurora: "Alright. I will wait for you dad."

Alexander: "That’s my princess."

Alexander: "Alright, come. Your grandpa and grandma already waited for you. See that."

Alexander showed to Aurora her grandparent waited for her.

Aurora: "Oh yeah."

Aurora and Alexander came out of the car and walk towards Mr. and Mrs. Wang.

Mr. Wang: "Ahh, there it is my lovely granddaughter. Come here, come here. I missed you so much.

Aurora: "I missed you too grandpa."

She gave a hug to her grandpa.

Mrs. Wang: "Oh, hug me too honey."

She gave a hug to her grandma

Mr.Wang looked at his sons and started talking

Mr. Wang: "You already loaded with work now huh?"

Alexander: "Yup. Too much workload. The investor requested more benefits on their behalf than us. Therefore Louise and I need to check the contract a few times to create a new contract that benefitting us."

Mr. Wang: "Where did you put Lucas?"

Alexander: "Marketing department. He was briefing with that department staff about robbery cases at the branch last week. I assigned Lucas to settle the cases since he was there last week with Louise."

Mr. Wang: "Oh, I see. Then you should continue your work now or you're gonna be late to pick her up today."

Mrs. Wang: "Did you already have lunch Alex?"

Mrs. Wang asked him but Alexander did not answer her question.

Alexander: "I dropped her here till I finished my work and I pick her later."

Alexander said that in cold response. He looked at his daughter and smiled.

Alexander: "Daddy will pick you later, okay."

He gave a forehead kiss to his daughter and walked to the car. He waves hand to her daughter and hop into the car. Mrs. Wang disappoint with her son's answer. Mr.Wang saw the moment and shook his head and sighed watching his son’s action toward his mother.

Mr. Wang: "Let him be. He still needs his time to relief."

Mrs. Wang agreed with her husband.

Mrs.Wang: "Come honey. Let’s get inside. Grandma just bought you new dolls."

Aurora: "Really?! Yeahhhhh. Love you, grandma."

Maurice started the engine and drove the car away.

-- In the car --

Alexander kept silent. Maurice looked at him through the mirror.

Maurice: "Sir."

Alexander did not hear Maurice calling him. Then, Maurice called him again.

Maurice: "Sir."

Alexander: "Ohh yes. Why?"

Alexander startled with Maurice calling him.

Maurice: "Are you okay?"

Alexander: "Yes, I am."

Maurice: "You looked down."

Alexander: "Oh that was nothing Maurice. I just remembered something. That’s all."

Maurice: "Hmm. Alright, sir."

He knows well Alexander would never forget about the incident that already happened 5 years ago since he took care of Alexander at the age of 5 until he's having a child.

-- 5 years ago --

Alexander was sitting at the cafe having tea. Wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, gloves, and boots. He took off his gloves and reached for the cup of tea and sip it slowly. Suddenly someone closed his eyes with both palm hands. He smiles it and says:

Alexander: "Hmmm, Eva?"

Then suddenly, his eyes were not closed anymore. He could see a fierce expression shown on her girlfriend face.

Jessica: "Tell me now, who Eva?"

Jessica angrily mixed with jealousy asking that question to Alexander. She sits in front of him. Alexander laughed at her.

Alexander: "Hahaha just joking. I already know it was you."

Jessica: "Pfff. Hahahaha."

He stares at Jessica while laughing. He is deeply in love with her.

Alexander: "So, my love. Where are we gonna go now?"

Jessica: "Hurm... to the universe?"

Alexander: "Oh to the universe huh?! Alright."

He gets up from the chair, walks toward Jessica and lifts her, and spins around.

Jessica: "No! Stop! Stop! Hahahaha. I am scared."

She hugged him and felt scared if she would fall down. While Alexander made the spin non-stop.

Alexander: "We are going to the universe just like what you said."

Jessica: "Alright, alright. We go to the park now. Put me down okay. People already stare at us now, Alex."

Alexander: "Hahahahaha. Alright."

He puts her down. And hold her hands. They walked away from the cafe to their destination. They are having good times together.

Maurice: "Sir."

Alexander kept silent. Maurice called Alexander, but not having a response from him. Then he called him again.

Maurice: "Sir!"

Alexander: "Yes!"

Alexander suddenly realizes he already arrives in front of his company.

Maurice: "We already arrived."

Alexander: "Oh alright, thanks, Maurice."

He took his briefcase with him.

Louise, who waited for him in front of the company entrance, walked toward his boss's car and opened the door for him. He took the briefcase from Alexander.

Louise: "Good Evening sir."

Alexander: "Yeah you too."

Then he walked into the company.

-- At night, in Huang Mansion --

Jane is busy in her study room completing her task. While busy looking on computer screen finishing her work, the study room is filled with keyboard typing sound since she likes to stay silent and no music at all to focus on her work. She startled heard someone knock on the door.

Jane: "Who’s there? Come in."

Then, the door opened. Daniel came into the room.

Daniel: "Hi mom"

Jane: "Hi honey, not gonna sleep yet?"

Daniel: "Not yet. You?"

Jane: "I am busy right now. I will sleep after finishing all this stuff."

Daniel: "Alright."

Jane turn to her son. Stop doing her job.

Jane: "Is there something you want to share with me, honey?"

Daniel shook his head.

Jane: "Alright, then what is it?"

She looked at her son and waited for the question.

Daniel: "Mom... mmm you know next week the school had examination right?

Jane: "Yyess... Then?"

Daniel: "You know after the examination, there is gonna have parents meet at school for report card things right"?

Jane: "Of course.... Hey, honey... why? Are you having problem with your study? I can help you.

Daniel: "No, no, no.... That's not what I mean."

Jane: "Really? Then what is it?"

Daniel: "You know David my classmate, he always had his dad come to the parents meet to school. And he always said he played basketball with his dad after school. What I am gonna ask is why don't I have one like David, but David have it?"

Jane was shocked by his questions. She knows that Daniel will ask her soon about that. She hold her son's hands.

Jane: "Hmm, okay. Listen, you are special than anyone else. Eventhough you don’t have a dad. You still have grandpa, grandma, uncle Jensen, uncle Jerrett and me. I know that I am not answering your question. But trust me, someday you will understand why. Right now, I will try my best to fit the dad and mom roles for you. Okay?"

Daniel smiled bitterly and understood what his mom was trying to say. Jane looks at the clock on the wall. The time shows near 10 pm.

Jane: "Hey baby, you should go to sleep now or you will be late for school tomorrow."

Daniel: "Alright mom. Good Night."

Jane: "Alright honey, sleep tight."

She kissed her son’s forehead before he left her alone in that room. Daniel closed the door. Jane took a deep breath and slowly calmed herself.

Jane: "What am I gonna do now? He already asking...."

She heard someone open the door. She saw her dad.

Jane: "Dad... Still not sleeping yet?"

Jane asked him with a smile.

Mr. Huang: "I heard what Daniel asked you."

Jane sighs for a moment.

Mr.Huang: "Does Wayne Yao have the potential to be Daniel’s dad?"

He tries to ask the question to see his daughter's reaction.

Jane: "Oh dad, he's just a friend. A best friend. "

Mr.Huang: "Are you sure that guy thinks of you as a friend? He bought me a set of limited edition porcelain cups from Japan last month."

Mr.Huang smiles at his daughter.

Jane laughs and starts talking.

Jane: "Nah, really just a friend. I totally confirmed."

Mr. Huang: "If you say so, then it’s okay. But he is a nice guy."

Jane feels shy discussing that, she quickly changes the topic.

Jane: "About Daniel, you don’t have to worry about it. I already explained it to him."

Mr.Huang: "You are not explaining. You are just avoid it. That's different things."

Jane sighs at the moment.

Jane: "It is still early to make him understand the situation. He will forget about it later. So, daddy, you don’t have to worry about it."

Jane gave a smile to her dad.

Mr.Huang: "He will not forget it, my dear. He asks the question because he sees the differences between himself with other children at school."

Mr.Huang: "He is still alive right?"

Jane: "Huh? Who?"

Mr.Huang: "Daniel’s dad."

Jane: "I don’t know. I don’t know who he is. Jessica never told me about him. She just told me that guy had the same bracelet as I am wearing now. Jessica made the bracelet by herself. So, that was the clue about him I know."

Mr.Huang: "That's difficult"

Mr.Huang: "Now, what makes you really worried about Daniel?"

Jane: "His dad."

Jane replied with a short answer.

Jane: "I am scared if he knows his child is still alive, he will make something bad towards him."

Jane: "I saw how Jessica died. In front of my eyes, the car explodes. She knows they are coming for her. That accident gave me a nightmare for more than a year."

Jane: "I still remember her last word dad…"

Jane: "She said it was his family that after her life. They want her to die because she gave birth to his child. I can’t accept that they want to kill Jessica with his child too."

Jane was really frustrated remembering that moment.

Mr. Huang: "You already save Daniel. Jessica will be thankful to you for taking care of Daniel very well until now. Just keep calm now okay. No matter what happens. I will protect Daniel too. I also loved him so much even though he was just my adopted grandchild. Same with your mom and your brothers, they loved him so much. Daniel's cheerfulness really makes our family feel warm, right?"

Jane: "Alright dad. Thank you so much for that. I really appreciate it."

She hugged her dad tight.
