Episode 4 (Straight to your heart)

The clock shows already 9.00 am. Jane sitting at her place waiting for the news from Wayne.

Jane: "He's late today huh?"

While taking look at the clock. After a few minutes, she heard a sound like someone running outside her room. She heard someone open her door room.

Wayne: "Okay my lady, I am sorry for being late today. Seriously..."

Wayne talks to her while out of breath due to running toward her room.

Jane: "Ahah, I saw that you are late."

Jane: "So, okay now. Would you tell me the reason you are late today?"

Wayne: "I.... go.... drink.... with.... my friend... last night. Hehe..., so did not realize the times then yup I messed up this morning. Sorry..."

Wayne felt guilty for being late to the office.

Jane: "You are lucky because the big boss not coming today. You safe for now"

Wayne: "Oh really!? Nice..."

Jane: "Happy huh?!"

Wayne: "No way, I miss him right now"

Jane smiles seeing his jokes.

Jane: "So, how is the progress for today? Any updates?"

Wayne: "Today and tomorrow, you and I will get busy for the whole day."

Jane: "Agenda please..."

Wayne: "For today, we have a meeting with the production team about the new coming film for the summer season."

Jane: "Oh yeah, you right, we did not decide yet who starring in that film and the singer for OST, straight two hectic days huh"

Wayne: "I felt you. So I add that hectic with tomorrow's agenda. Meeting with Highfield Tech."

Jane: "Ah, I need oxygen."

Wayne: "Sorry, out of breath"

Jane: "I think for tomorrow's agenda, why don't just let the artist manager take over that meeting? They want the ambassador right? So why don't just ask the manager to go instead of us? Still the same I think. Signing the contract and done"

Wayne: "At first, I think the same as you. But then, the big boss told me that someone with an upper position needs to attend that meeting because it is the new invention for this year. The rumor spread saying that many companies want to be part of the project. The big boss doesn't want other companies to take over that opportunity. Therefore, he asked us to hold the press conference just for that meeting"

Jane: "He insists huh, with a press conference. Wasting too much"

Wayne: "I know you gonna say that. But you should remember, that project makes other opponents interested including other countries. Therefore, even signing a simple contract, we need to tell them all we are part of it. A simple word, THAT'S MINE. DON'T YOU DARE TO TOUCH WHAT IS MINE YOU FILTHY BUGS... yeah... just like that..."

Jane: "Alright, alright. I got it. You should be an actress, not an office worker"

Wayne:" I think so..."

Jane presses the telephone button, calling other staff.

Jane: "Cindy, come to my room now."

Cindy: "Alright, Mrs. Jane"

In less than a few minutes, the door knocked.

Jane: "Come in"

Cindy comes to the room.

Jane: "Okay Cindy, sorry for disturbing you. Actually, I have a task for you that need to complete by tomorrow morning cause we need to use it in the evening."

Jane: "Okay firstly, Did you know about our cooperation with Highfield Tech? Have Mr. Wayne explained to you?"

Cindy: "Yup, already knows about that"

Jane: "Okay, good. Then I want you to contact the news company, and tell them that we have a conference tomorrow. We opened the hall so that their reporters can join but made sure to limit 3 people per company. So need to adjust the seat. Second, Inform to guard by today about tomorrow's event, and avoid any outsiders entering our working floor. Just the hall only. Third, mineral water. Take from the pantry. I think we have already restocked for this month. Do check later, if do not have to inform me ASAP. The important thing is, make sure our ambassador knows about this and the manager as well already prepared"

Jane: "I know the task is quite rushed, but this is important. And the project that you are handling is ongoing right? Hold that project first, then settle these things. It's alright, I'll inform the big boss about your task. So don't worry. So I really hope that you can cope with the task. If there is any problem do come to me or Mr. Wayne, okay."

Cindy: "Alright Mrs. Jane. I'll do my best."

Jane: "Alright, you may go now. Thank You."

Cindy exited the room.

Jane: "Wayne, after this talk, make an announcement to the intern and social media team staff to help Cindy to handle the event."

Wayne: " Alright, honey"

Jane looked at him for calling her honey. She stares at him.

Wayne: "Uuuu, scary... Hahahahaha"

Jane: "Just go back to your room. Your agenda for today already make me headaches"

Wayne: "I guess you regret that position now. Hahahaha"

Jane: "Yeah, serve me right."

Wayne left her room.

Jane: "Today is a hectic day. So, the first thing to do is take Daniel to mom. Okay, I don't know how to deal with his face if he knows I can't take him to the cinema tomorrow."

Jane: "Oh yeah, forget the headaches, you just need Jensen & Jerrett. Solved."

Jane takes her phone and calls Jensen.

Jensen: "Hello"

Jane: "Hey, I have a favor to ask of you. May I?"

Jensen: "Alright. What is it?"

Jane: "Are you free tomorrow?"

Jensen: "Yeah, quite free. I don't think I have anything to do after office hours. Why?"

Jane: "Help me take Daniel to the cinema. I already promised him to watch his fav movie, but I have a meeting the next day. Would you?"

Jensen: "You really helpless sis... Alright, I'm taking him out. You should take leave if made a promise to him. Poor him you know"

Jane: "Yeah, I know that. But, this time I can't off my duty. Thanks, Jensen."

Jensen: "Alright. So, am I need to pick him up after school?"

Jane: "No, no. I will drop him at home. Then, I will go back to work"

Jensen: "Alright, see you sis"

Jane: "Okay"

Jane off the call.

Jane: "Huh, settle. Now, let's get back to work"

While Jensen,

Jensen: "What must I do? I hope he is fine."

Jensen: "Watching the movie for 2 people... hmmm not fun. At least 3 people. Yeah, I should call him"

Jensen then calls someone.

Jerrett: "Hello"

Jensen: "Hey, brother... let's go watch a movie tomorrow with Daniel."

Jerrett: "With Daniel? Doesn't Daniel gonna watch a movie with Jane?"

Jensen: "She could not make it. She has a meeting tomorrow. So I replaced her"

Jerrett: "Oh, Is that okay? I hope Daniel is fine with that"

Jensen: "He probably does not know about that."

Jerrett: "I see. Then, okay."

Jensen: "You're the best guy, brother."

They off the call and went back home.

The clock already shows 1.00 pm. Jane packs up all her things and puts them in her handbag. She leaves the office to pick up Daniel. After a few minutes, she arrives at school. The student still not coming out yet. So she waited in her car.

Alex came to pick up his daughter also arrives. He looks at his watch, though he is late. But parents still waiting outside the school.

Alex: "Oh, they're late. Having extra class huh?"

Then students showed up at the school gate a few minutes later. Alex off from his car to pick up Aurora at the gate. Jane also off from her car to pick up Daniel. When arrives at the school gate. They notice each other.

Jane: "Mr. Alex, right? Wayne's best friend."

Alex: "Yes I am. Mrs... Jane... right?"

Jane: "Yup"

They smiled. Jane starts the conversation.

Jane: "Did you just arrive?"

Alex: "Oh no, I waited for an hour ago in the car. Seeing the Aurora not coming out yet. I thought they have an extra class today"

Jane: "Oh, yeah they having an extra class today because Daniel has told me that they might have for this week for school carnival preparation"

Daniel: "Mom!"

Jane heard Daniel calling her.

Jane: "Hey, gentleman! How is your extra class? Exhausted?"

Daniel: "Not much, less study, more playful."

Jane: "Hahaha, that's good. Hey, say 'Hi' to Uncle Alex."

Daniel: "Hi, uncle Alex."

Daniel smiles while greeting and bows his head to Alex.

Alex: "Hi, Daniel."

Jane: "Aurora did not come out yet?"

Alex: "Yeah, still waiting. Well, Girls. Need to understand walking with her friend and talking."

They laugh.

Jane: "Alright, we're off home now."

Alex: "Yeah, sure. Take care while getting back home"

Jane: "Yeah, you too."

Jane & Daniel: "Bye"

Alex: "Bye"

Alex's eyes still looking at both mom and son getting into the car.

Aurora: "Dad!"

Aurora calls her dad as soon arrives at the car.

Alex: "Oh hey, Baby. Miss me already?"

Aurora: "100% miss"

Alex hugged and hold her.

Alex: "Omg, you gained some weight."

Aurora: "No way daddy."

Alex: "Ahahaha, alright alright, maybe I am too weak to hold you, that's why you felt heavier."

Aurora: "Daddy...."

They went to the car and got into it.

While the driver drove them back home, that father-daughter had a conversation.

Aurora: "Dad"

Alex: "Yes"

Aurora: "Today in class when time break for lunch, I had my lunch with my classmate. Then, I saw Daniel having lunch with his friend. He did the same as you did before having meals."

Alex: "Do what baby?"

Aurora: "He had rice and black beans. He took out the black beans one by one. Then, he starts eating the rice."

Alex: "Hahahaha did he throw all the black beans?"

Aurora: "Nah, his friend finished it."

Alex: "Sharing is caring. That's good."

Aurora: "Does the black beans taste so bad, dad?"

Alex: "Hmm let's just say, the taste is boring and blend "

Aurora: "Now I understand why we less having that in our meals"

Alex: "I don't know that you liked the black beans so much"

Aurora: "It's not liking, just Nanny Martha said it is good for me to grow up"

Alex: "She said the same things to me when I was your age."

Aurora: "I am a good girl. Right, dad?"

Alex: "Very much"

Aurora looked at her dad's face. She realized something.

Aurora: "Dad, did you know you have beautiful eyes?"

Alex: "Did my daughter just praise me? OMG. I need to remember this moment"

Aurora: "I am just saying the truth. I am your daughter but did not have it. I also want that brown eyes too. Wait, if I don't have it, does it means I follow the mom gene? Is that bad?"

Alex: "Okay baby, wait. Even though you did not have my eyes, still you are the prettiest in the world okay? And that's not a bad thing. Mom has green eyes the same as you do and she's a beautiful person. How about we asked Grandpa Maurice about that?"

Aurora turns to look at Maurice that drives the car.

Aurora: "Grandpa Maurice, what similarity that I have between dad and mom?"

Maurice: "Young lady, you have some beautiful green eyes like your mom and the same beautiful hair as your dad. Also same facial structure as your dad too."

Aurora: "Really?!"

Maurice: "Yes, but there is one thing that exactly so much you copy from your dad."

Alex is interested to hear that too. Maurice looked at the father and daughter at the back thru the front mirror which already shows an interesting face to hear. He smiled since they have the same expression.

Maurice: "Your expression when having steak with extra sauce"

Alex & Aurora: "That thing* really my liking**."*

Alex looked at Aurora and did not realize they gonna said the same things. Both burst to laugh.

Aurora: "I really am your daughter. No mistake."

Maurice: "Nanny Martha really loved to cook you guys the steak. She said she loved to see you guys enjoy eating her cooking and always cook meals that hit to you guys' taste and yeah she kind of strict but has a soft spot that we did not realize."

Alex: "I think I am gonna allowed her to have a vacation period due to her deed toward us"

Maurice smiles.

While Jane and Daniel.

Jane: "Baby.... umm, you know that tomorrow we gonna had your fav movie to watch at the cinema right?"

Daniel: "Yup."

Jane: "Mom wants to ask whether you can watch it with your uncle since I had to attend tomorrow's meeting."

Daniel looked at Jane's face.

Daniel: "We promised to watch it together..."

Jane: "Sorry babe, I can't accompany you as we promised. Because I have sudden work to settle this week starting today."

Daniel looks down as if wants to cry. They already made a promise to go to the cinema together. But he pulls himself and tries to understand his mom's job. He smiles.

Daniel: "It's okay. I understand. Going to the cinema with my uncle is also fun. You are working really hard nowadays mom. Why don't take some time to relax?"

Jane actually saw his sad face.

Jane: "I am sorry for breaking our promise. I really want to go out with you. But trust me, after this week's project I will take days off. So we will hang out together okay?"

Daniel: "Pinky promise?"

Daniel shows his pinky fingers to her mom.

Jane: "Promise."

They make a pinky promise.

Daniel: "Okay, but next time cannot."

Jane: "Alright. Thanks, honey"

She drove back to their home. And leaving Daniel under her parent's care. Then, drove back to her office to settle her work for the day.
