chapter 1 the night everything died

A normal evening in a big city.

A car runs down on a bustling road-a man age 24,behind the wheel, and woman age 21,on the passenger seat chatting happily.

"So I want real flowers decorations for our wedding and it has to be a forest wedding like twilight. I'd be wearing a fitted dress like bella. Do you think my bump will be visible by then"

  Girl happily chatting planning about their future her voice full of excitement and man nodding a happy smile spread on his lips ,chiming where necessary.They are like any other newly engaged couple eagerly waiting to start a family together. Dreaming of forever.

But the fate has other plans

The car came to an halt. The board reads:

WORK IN PROGRESS .PLEASE TAKE THIS LINK ROAD.

oblivious to the danger  ahead they took the detour. He-the freshly recruited fbi agent and she- a recent college graduate.

A few miles down the road they noticed something odd. The road is too quite. This highway is one of the  busiest one in the city. Something feel off.

As he was racking his brain then up ahead  he saw several figures blocking the road between the road their cars on the side hazard lights on .

He stopped his car. Before he can speak the air explodes with gunshot. Bullets rain over the car.He instinctively shielded his fiance with his body. They b both  try to duck try to protect themselves but the bullets started piercing from driver side window too.

Admit the gunfire she  hears the  laughter .

" This is the badge of your honesty " One shooter sneers.

Then silence. The gunman approach slowly keeping the distance. Seeing no movement from the car they assume everyone inside was dead. So they left.

Someone inside survived someone saw their faces.

After 5 mins of their leaving car door opened two bloody figure came out  girl supporting his fiance his body heavy in her arms. She lays him down on the road

"look don't sleep asher I m calling for help" She said her voice panicking.

She called the emergency services " Hello you have reached the emergency may I know what your problem is? "

  " Hello me and my fiance has been attacked he got multiple gunshots please send help we are at xyz road please. He is bleeding alot." She said.

" Mam please try to stay calm  help is on the way tell me is any of his vital part injured" Said the voice from other end of call.

" No but he is bleeding alot please help "  She begged.

" Ok mam please try to stay calm and apply pressure to the wound to slow down the bleeding  help....." Before the voice can complete her sentence the line went dead. Her battery died.

" Hello hello"  She screamed at the phone powerless.

She tries to apply pressure but there are to many wounds, too much blood wounds, she feels helpless.

" Baby baby please don't sleep please help is on their way please I beg you please for our baby please " She said while crying.

her own shoulder bleeding  where she was shot, random cuts from broken glass but she didn't care about herself all that matters is the love of her life.

She cried, yelled for help. She begged, begged to everything she believes to save her love. She is witnessing the life getting drained from the man she loved more then her life.

" Baby" He whispers his voice week.

" Shhhh save your energy don't speak " She says still begging hoping against the hope for someone to help.

" Let me speak baby. I don't have much time left. I m glad you are ok please take care of yourself for me and sorry for not fulfilling my promise princess in next life I will try my level best to fulfil them. I LOVE YOU ...."

He said while cupping her cheek with his bloody hand then he took his last breath and his hand goes limp body still. "

No no no no no..... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"  A broken cry pierced through the night .

." Please baby you can't leave me, leave our child please come back  to me please"  She side crying.

Like God was punishing her for her god knows what crimes a sharp pain pierced through her stomach and a gush of blood started flowing  from between her legs.

" First your father left me now you too I don't want to live anymore"  Those were her last words  she collapse wrapping her arms around her fiance's body her eyes hollow lifeless...waiting for her death.

Loud sirens wails through the silence but she can't hear anything can't see anything her world dark, quite with nothing in it broken they took everything from her the love of her life, her happiness ,her very soul  .

Pera medics arrived checking pulses performing the emergency rescue"one  dead one alive , hello mam can you hear me can you tell me your name hello"  Said someone. But she can't hear anything her world is quite.

They tried to sperate them but she didn't loose her hols like she was clutching her last lifeline" Sir she is not leaving the body" Said one of them" Ok so move them together " The chief orders.

"  You Check the car for information and inform the family" The chief orders again.

They both were rushed to the hospital she didn't say anything didn't react like she was not there her soul is somewhere in the dark only her hollow body is present there. She can hear wails of a woman and doctor's words " She is critical shock , showing signs of ptsd, miscarriage and blood loss. Her vitals are stable now but she is not responding to anything I suggest the Psychiatric consultation"  But to her they meant nothing her world is still quite.

ONE MONTH LATER

" Based on the evidence submitted in the court ,the court sentences life imprisonment to the defendants , case  closed ".

" But they are not the culprits "  Three voices cry out in court simultaneously.

Three people Asher's parents and brother fights for justice but their pleas fall on deaf ears.

Disappointed from the lack of justice driving back  from court  an overspeed truck ran into  their car.

Another case closed ruled an accident. The scapegoats found dead in the prison. Case closed buried deep somewhere, justice never served, killers roaming free.

THREE MONTHS LATER

She hadn't spoken a word  her eyes are still hollow, her world still silent , quite, dark nothing left in it. World snatched everything dear to her. First her parents, then fiance, then baby, then in laws, her future.

Yet she's still alive.

why?????......
