Episode 2

‎I woke up to the sound of people yelling at each other and the light of the sun brimming through my eyes. I just sighed in frustration. Suddenly, my door bursted open and there stood my younger sister— Akane, a naturally sweet and cheerful girl. But now she was crying.

‎"Brother... they're... they're fighting again." she stated while crying.

‎I hugged her and patted her head to try and calm her down.

‎"It's okay, it's okay. I'm sure they'll quiet down soon. So let's just get ready to go to school today, kay?."

‎She just quietly nodded and wiped her tears away. We both went downstairs to see my mom and dad arguing. This was the most normal scene for me to see every morning— my mom and dad fighting over my dad being home late and drunk. Waking us up by screaming at each other and sometimes my dad would punch our mom. I was used to it but my little sister isn't. I grew up seeing this scene every morning. However, my little sister wasn't. My parents don't usually argue in front of her when she was little. But now that she's older, they just never cared about what she would feel when they fight.

‎Our parents didn't even notice us coming down the stairs. Heck, they didn't bat an eye. We just passed through them with a sigh and headed to the kitchen to cook breakfast. After cooking breakfast, I went to get ready to go to school. My sister did the same.

‎After we got ready, we both went out and headed to our school. It was a boring walk for me. I was still thinking about my sister after all. My head was above the clouds and I didn't even notice when someone walked in front of me, causing me to bump hardly at them and fell down.

‎"Oh, sorry. Are you okay?" that person asked. His voice sounding familiar.

‎"I'm fine..." I looked up and saw a person that I was hoping to not see again— it was Akio. He looked so... ungenuinely surprised.

‎"Oh, Yuki! Didn't expect to see you here." he stated.

‎I inwardly groaned. Why do I have to see him so early in the morning. It's not like I hate him or anything. I genuinely just don't like him cuz he's yappy and too... cheerful. A whole 180° from my personality.

‎"We're neighbors. Of course you'd see me around." I replied bluntly.

‎He just chuckled from my statement. Ugh, so annoying.

‎"Right... we're neighbors. Hey, wanna walk to school with me?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement. I don't know why he's so excited though. It's just a walk to school.

‎"Uhh, thanks for the offer but I'd rather—" I couldn't even finished what I was saying because he pulled my arm and dragged me while he ran towards the school.

‎"Let's go then!" he excitingly exclaimed.

‎"Hey, wait. Slow down will ya?" I begged while trying to catch up to him.

‎---->>>>

‎We finally reached our class after running for about I dunno how many mins. I have low stamina, okay? So I tend to get tired easily. I stood at the door of our class, panting, catching my breath and whatever words that describe as tired.

‎"Oh, fuck. The day just started and I'm already tired." I mumbled while panting. I then heard a light chuckle.

‎"Jeez, you tire that easily? We didn't even run that far." he asked in a ridiculing manner.

‎I inwardly cursed at him. This guy was getting all smug about having more stamina than me. "I'm just not used to running, that's all." I replied, trying my best to just not straight-out punch him in the face.

‎"Ehh? Really? I thought you were the athletic type."

‎Really? Me, an athletic person? I can't even run just 1km and I can't even dodge a single ball in dodgeball. And look at my build. I'm like literally the frailest man there is. I don't even have a muscle. Plus I totally look like a shut-in, which I am.

‎"Oh, please. I'm totally not the athletic type." I stated.

‎I opened the door to our class and went inside. Akio followed me. He was about to say something when his friends interrupted him.

‎"Akio, g'mornin!" Wataru exclaimed.

‎"Yo, Akio. Morning." Rin greeted in a nonchalant manner.

‎'Yes, he's distracted!' I celebrated in my mind. I immediately went to my seat and sat down. I let out a sigh of relief. Finally, I can recharge my social bat. I'm not really the communicative type of person so my social battery gets low easily. Especially when someone talks to me so early in the morning and when I'm in a bad mood at that.

‎I put on my headsets as I buried my face at my desk. Man, was I exhausted. I looked at my right and saw Akio and his friends talking. Suddenly, our eyes met causing me to avert my gaze. He didn't look away and continued staring at me. Oh, gosh. What if he thinks that I'm some sort of freak for staring at him? I don't want that. The door bursted open and there stod our homeroom teacher.

‎"Class, go back to your seats. Class is starting." the teacher ordered.

‎Everyone went back to their proper seats and the teacher started his lesson. As usual, I didn't listen to his yapping about history or whatsoever. I just looked outside the window in a daze, waiting for the class to end.
