Verdant Blades:Shattered Alliance Episode 3

Episode 3:Blades and Bullets

[Scene 1 – Opening: City Outskirts]

The camera pans across a ruined industrial sector, smoke stacks crumbling, neon lights flickering through the smog. Demiko walks ahead with that cocky stride, his long sword on his back, while Harumo follows, guns casually spinning at her sides like she’s always one second away from drawing them.

Demiko: [grinning] “Still think I’m dead weight? I got us in and out yesterday. You just sat there pulling the trigger.”

Harumo: [flat] “Correction. I covered your back while you almost got your head blown off. If you had an ounce of strategy, we wouldn’t be walking out with half the alarms on us.”

Demiko: [snorts] “Strategy’s boring. I like results.”

Harumo stops walking. Her eyes harden, tone sharp.

Harumo: “Results get you killed. And if you’re dead, you’re useless to me.”

Demiko laughs, though his green eyes flash with annoyance. They move on, the tension thick enough to cut with his blade.

[Scene 2 – The Facility Breach]

Their target today: a collapsed weapons depot rumored to still house experimental tech. The interior is a labyrinth of flickering lights and half-collapsed walls. Demiko kicks open a rusted door, stepping inside with zero hesitation.

Harumo: [hissing] “You’re loud. Every echo tells the world we’re here.”

Demiko: [mock gasp] “What, afraid of ghosts?”

She doesn’t answer, but her hand twitches at her pistol, as if she’s considering shooting him just to shut him up. They press deeper into the depot.

[Scene 3 – First Trap]

A hallway is rigged with crude mines. Harumo crouches instantly, scanning with trained eyes. Demiko nearly walks right into one.

Harumo: [snaps] “Stop moving.”

Demiko: [rolling eyes] “What now?”

Harumo: [pointing] “Pressure plates. One step wrong, and we’re both vapor.”

Demiko squints, then smirks.

Demiko: “So I’ll go first.”

Before she can stop him, he steps forward, lightning-fast. He presses his boot against a plate, the mine’s light flickers red—then he whips his sword downward, slashing the trigger wire clean before it detonates.

Harumo: [staring, jaw tight] “You’re insane.”

Demiko: [grinning] “No. I’m precise.”

Her eyes narrow. For the first time, she realizes his recklessness isn’t just stupidity — it’s backed by terrifying instinct.

[Scene 4 – The Rivalry Grows]

They reach the depot vault. Harumo crouches at the keypad, working her way through. Demiko leans casually against the wall, bored.

Demiko: “You take too long. I could’ve cut through by now.”

Harumo: [focused] “Cutting leaves evidence. I don’t make mistakes.”

Demiko: [smirking] “Mistakes are fun.”

The lock clicks open. Inside the vault are racks of weapons: pistols, rifles, blades. Demiko’s eyes lock onto a sheathed long sword resting in the corner, dust-covered but intact. He approaches it like a starving man finding food.

Harumo: [watching him quietly] “You’ve wanted one of those for a long time, haven’t you?”

Demiko unsheathes it, the blade gleaming under the flickering light. He swings it with fluid grace, every motion controlled — a stark contrast to his cocky personality.

Demiko: [low, almost reverent] “Yeah. Finally feels like I’m complete.”

[Scene 5 – Ambush]

Suddenly, automated turrets deploy from the ceiling. Harumo dives into cover, guns flashing. Demiko doesn’t flinch — he charges forward, new sword in hand. Bullets ricochet off his blade as he spins, his unnatural strength shattering one turret in a single slash. Harumo shoots the other two with pinpoint accuracy.

Harumo: [breathing steady] “Not bad… for a lunatic.”

Demiko: [cocky grin] “You’re welcome.”

They stand back-to-back for a moment, breathing heavy, surrounded by broken machinery. It’s the first time they’ve fought in sync.

[Scene 6 – Closing]

As they walk out of the depot, Demiko twirls his new sword over his shoulder, a satisfied grin plastered across his face. Harumo reloads her pistols without looking at him.

Demiko: “See? We make a good team.”

Harumo: [coldly] “Don’t push your luck. I still don’t trust you.”

The camera lingers on Demiko’s smirk — half cocky, half calculating — as if he enjoys the challenge of making her trust him. The episode ends with the uneasy partnership intact, but one spark closer to combusting.
