Chapter 4 : Fractured bonds

*Chapter 4: "Fractured Bonds"

William's mind was still reeling from Becky's revelation when Jake approached him. He didn't know what to make of Jake's concern about his parents, but he knew he needed to hear him out.

"What about my parents?" William asked, feeling a sense of trepidation.

Jake hesitated before speaking. "I overheard my parents talking about your mom," he said. "Apparently, she's been struggling to make ends meet since your dad left. I don't know if you knew, but..."

William's eyes widened in shock. He hadn't known his mom was struggling that much. He felt a mix of emotions: guilt, worry, and anger.

Just then, Jay appeared, looking concerned. "William, what's going on?" he asked, noticing the tension between William and Jake.

William turned to Jay, feeling frustrated. "You knew, didn't you?" he asked, his voice rising. "You knew about my mom's situation, and you didn't tell me."

Jay looked taken aback. "I didn't know what to say," he said. "I didn't want to hurt you."

The tension between William and Jay was palpable. William felt like Jay had betrayed him, and he didn't know if he could forgive him.

"You're always so perfect, Jay," William said, his voice laced with anger. "You always know what to say and do. But sometimes, I wonder if you're really my friend, or if you're just pretending to be."

Jay's face fell, and he looked hurt. "That's not fair, William," he said. "I'm trying to be here for you, and this is how you repay me?"

The argument escalated, with both William and Jay saying things they didn't mean. Becky and Jake watched in discomfort, unsure of how to intervene.

As the argument reached its peak, William realized that he had gone too far. He saw the pain in Jay's eyes, and he knew he needed to apologize.

But before he could say anything, Jay turned and walked away, leaving William feeling guilty and regretful.

Williams felt a pain of guilt and anger but he knew he had to apologize to his best friend but he was still angry but he didn't want lose someone so close to him someone who had been there for him all those years of hardship and suffering

On the other hand Jay felt sad that William had raised his voice at him, he thought this isn't the William I used to know what changed him why is he acting like this lots of thought ran through Jay's head still trying to understand what happened between him and William

Jay didn't want to lose William so he thought he could apologize to William but he couldn't still understand why William had raised his voice at him because he didn't tell William about his mom's condition he felt lost he said he will make things better for him
