Ch4 Throne Room Confessions

(I'm going to be calling 2018 Loki 'Lokes' to make my life easier.)

"Fine, we shall take you to the palace," Thor boomed. Everyone nodded, accepting that as their next course of action.

They arrived at the palace, the golden walls loomed over them. The grand arches lining the walls decorated the walls with their intricated carvings. The guards lining the walls looked perplexed at the ragtag group of heroes and warriors walking past them. Thor and Loki lead the group, Tony, Lokes, and Natasha squished in the middle, the Warriors of Three right on their tail. Lokes, Natasha, and Tony acknowledged why they were in this particular form, so if they attempt to fight, they can be quickly surrounded and beaten.

Sooner rather than later, they arrived at the throne room. The massive doors exposed a hall adorned in gold. The high ceiling donned a grand drawing showing, presumably, a story of peace. It highlighted Odin especially, as he appeared in each panel. But, he did not appear in the eye-catcher of the painting, the painting of the Bifrost heading to Asgard, the palace in the middle standing over everything else. Each of the other seven panels depicting the other Nine Realms and their kings with Odin.

'What a narcissist,' Natasha thought matter-of-factly.

Natasha and Tony stared at their surroundings, taking in the beauty and personality of the room.

Lokes stared as well but for other reasons. Lokes' eyes glazed over, remembering the good and bad memories. Shaking his head slightly and looked up. He saw Frigga standing stiffly in bewilderment, picking at her left hand in nervousness. Lokes felt comfort in his mother's presence. He wanted to go up to her, hug her, and tell her what he couldn't all those years ago. But, he stayed in place knowing the consequences of what he wished to do.

Lokes, Natasha, and Tony stared at Odin, observing. They noticed a hint of surprise on his blank face. Gungnir was held tightly, as he straightened up slightly. Lokes, Natasha, and Tony looked at each other. Natasha nodded at Loki, while Tony looked over to Natasha quickly before facing the King and Queen of Asgard anew. Natasha and Lokes followed his lead.

Odin unnecessarily banged Gungnir in the ground. Thor, Lokes, Loki, Sif, Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg kneeled to their king in sync. Tony and Natasha kneeled a moment later.

Tony felt a sour taste in his mouth, recalling a kneeling doctor in a horrid cave.

After a grueling few seconds, the group stood up. Lokes, Tony, and Natasha stood last, the aches and pains, mostly healed from their deaths, coming back to them.

"Well, explain to me why there is an almost identical copy of my son, accompanied by two Midgardians," Odin asked in a slightly sarcastic, slightly worried tone.

"They cla-" Loki said before he was interrupted by Thor, who pushed him back. Odin paid no mind.

"They claim to be from the future."

Odin hummed, "Is there any way you can... prove this".

"We can," Tony said.

"How, Midgardian?"

"He," Tony said, pointing at Lokes. "Knows what will happen in Ragnarok,"

Everyone in the room gasped in shock and disgust. Lokes steeled as the room quieted down. Odin and the rest of the Asgardians staring expectantly at Lokes, awaiting their answer.

"I will be starting earlier for everyone to understand what will happen. If I may, what year is it?".

"Around the fourth lunar cycle of 2008."

"Romanoff, Stark, that would be around the Midgardian month of April.".

Tony and Natasha nodded, taking on a dark look. While Lokes looked thoughtfully choosing his next words wisely, but Tony beat him to it.

"At the moment, I am earning my title as Iron Man, a protector of Ea- Midgard. My actual name is Tony Stark though".

Everyone else nodded. Turning back to Lokes, their eyes boring into his body, he sighed.

" In 2018, Ragnarok will occur, mother, I'm so sorry but...". Loki wiped his face, and everyone else looked confused and worried. "You will not be there, as you died in 2013, a mortal wound caused by a Dark Elf.".

The room looked horrified. Loki looked close to breaking down right then and there.

"I'm sorry, I just wanted to explain why she will not be in this story."

--Lokes explains Thor 1, Avengers 1, Parts of Thor the Dark World, Ragnarok; he left out his adoption and being Jotun out. But, he included the mind stones influence and a quick summary of his death in IW.-

Every Asgardian, except Lokes, was shocked at the bold claims these visitors had. Odin cleared his throat loudly, grabbing everyone's attention.

"Well..."

"You are correct, we do have a third child, Hela, the Goddess of Death, her versions facts aline."

'Thank the gods' Natasha and Tony thought.

"We shall send servants to prepare you your quarters,"

The group spoke, introducing themselves, and moving away from the throne room, except Odin, having other duties to attend to. The Warriors of Three and Sif left the group, having other matters to attend. Plus, it would save them from the awkward conversation ensuing. Frigga, Thor, Loki, Lokes, Natasha, and Tony walked to their rooms. Frigga looked at Tony and Natasha and asked, "If I may, considering your Loki died and appeared here, did you?"

"Yes," Tony said.

"If I may ask, how?" Loki inquired.

Natasha and Tony winced and, before Loki took it back, Natasha said her voice carefully neutral.

"Thanos had acquired all six of the Infinity Stones, and he snapped. He turned 50% of the universe's population, killing them. I and others killed Thanos, who had destroyed the stones, five years later, we hoped to fix it. Tony and other scientists created a time machine to help us find them. When I and my partner, went back in time and looked for the Soul Stone, on a planet called Vormir, it demanded a sacrifice, a soul for a soul. I jumped off the cliff and died."

Natasha kept staring coolly as the others took in her story. Tony gulped and followed up.

"After her death, we mourned and collected the Stones, in a gauntlet I made, my friend used the gauntlet and snapped, he brought those who died back, but a Thanos from the past found us out and came to our time. We fought, but around the end of the fight, Thanos stole the gauntlet, and instead of wanting to kill half the universe, he wanted to destroy the entire universe and make a new one. So, before he snapped, I grabbed the gauntlet and secretly swiped the stones and used them to kill Thanos, his army, and the Black Order."

The silence afterward was suffocating the group. They silently walked towards the rooms. Lokes, Natasha, and Tony were assigned their rooms one, next to the other.

Lokes was reading in his new room; it was a generic guest room with simple decorations. He looked up at a knock as Frigga walked in, as regal as ever. He buried down his feelings at seeing her again.

"Hello, Loki, we need to talk,"
