Work, work, work

Gary stays at her auntie Anie's place whose husband- uncle Mar, is the one who helped him get a job in that cement company. She's always kind to him and Gary admires the couple of their generosity. They are both hard working. Anie is an elementary teacher and Mar is an engineer. They have four children Tonie-the eldest, Dorothy-the second, Maya-the third and Ryan-the youngest. They all are high school students.

No matter how early Gary tries to wake up in the morning so he could cook breakfast for the family but he always fail to do so because Anie and Mar are always earlier. Food is already prepared when Gary gets up.

In the city, Faith enjoys working in the rubbertubes manufacturing company. She works as a production worker. She has to wake up early since her duty starts at six in the morning until two in the afternoon. She still stays at Sally's house. However she plans of moving to another place nearer to the company in order to save a bit because in Sally's place she needs to take three rides in getting to her work.

It's the last day of October, all the workers are in hurry going home since the next two days are holidays. Faith is excited to go home as well. She packs the groceries she bought to bring home.

"Yeyey!Faith is home!",Florence and the other younger siblings gladly meet her.

"Good evening dad", Faith kissed the hand of her father who is in the kitchen.

"How are you, did you get a job in the city?", dad asked.

"Yes, I did", she replied. "I was hired a month ago, I am under a probationary period of six months, hopefully if I pass the probation, I can be a regular employee", she continued.

"That's good news to hear", the father commented."And how much pay do you get?",he inquired. "I am paid with the minimum wage",she answered."Hm, that's good enough", he said. "I guess, the table is now ready, come let's eat",dad called everyone.

After dinner Florence and Faith clean up the table and wash the dishes together.They exchange stories with each other while washing. They talk, they laugh and sometimes they cry together. That's the way they are.

They are in their room when their cousins Sarah and Jack come to see them. They try to convince the two to go with them to the halloowen disco held in the next bario. Faith is ready to sleep but Florence keeps insisting that they should go.

"Just this once, please. Let's give ourselves some time to bond with our cousins",Florence begged to Faith.

"Okay,okay, we'll go. Happy?", Faith said with a smile.

In the disco, each of them got to meet their previous friends and classmates while they're outside. They opt not to get inside to the dance floor yet. They choose to roam around looking for delicious food display. While strolling around, Florence spotted Faith's elementary classmate.

"Hey, Faith, I think I saw Gary", Florence told Faith.

"What?Are you sure it's him?, Faith asked.

"I know it's been a long time but I couldn't have been mistaken of what I just saw.. I'm sure it's Gary", Florence reassured.

As Faith turns her head to the direction where Florence said she saw Gary, it's just in time that Gary got to see her as well. Their eyes meet in disbelief.They actually come to see each other after how many years had passed. Gary without wasting time, hurriedly go to their direction.

"Hi, Faith. Hi Florence.How are you? I'm glad I see you here", Gary greeted in excitement.

"We're good", Faith and Florence replied.

"It's good to see you here", Faith added.

"So I was not wrong when I said I saw you, it's really you!, Florence said with laughter. "I told you, it's him", She spoke to Faith.

"How do you do Gary?", Faith asked curiously."I heard that you're in the next town", she continued.

"Yes I was", he nodded. "But my grandpa passed away just 5 days ago, that's why I came home", he explained.

"Oh, I see", Faith understood.

"Hey how about we go inside, guys?Shall we?",Florence invited.

" Actually I am not supposed to be here tonight since we are still mourning for the loss of our grandpa, but I'm grateful that I'm here for I get to see you, guys. However, I can't get inside and dance with you,anyway, in a while I'll be going back home", Gary refuses.

"By the way Faith, do you work in the city?", he asked.

"Yes, I do", she replied.

"Can I save your number in my phone?", Gary asked.

"Sure! Why not?", she answered.

They exchange their numbers before they say goodbye to each other.

After the short vacation, Faith goes back to the city. She goes directly to her work. Upon arriving, there's the production manager who had arrived earlier and only some of her co- workers.She shared to them some food stuffs

she brought from home.

It's 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon and she's off duty now. She is in her way to Sally's house when her phone beeps. It's a message from Gary.

'Hi, when will you go back to the city?', the message of the text from Gary.

'I'm already here, in fact, I just get out from my duty. I'm on my way home now",she replied.

'Ah, okay. Can we meet tomorrow?",he asked.

' Maybe after my work at 2 pm', she replied.

'That would be great!Thank you', he texted back.

As Faith reaches Sally's house, the door's opened by the cute and lovely child named Louie, the eldest of Sally and her younger sister named Lillie.Faith embraces and kisses the two as she gets inside the house. She gives the children some foods to eat.Then she goes to her room with the little children with her.
