The riotens curse

The temple air grew colder. Inosun, Toshimaru, and Fushigini froze as a shadow crawled along the walls — two glowing, blood-red eyes cutting through the darkness.

Before any of them could scream, the creature lunged.

Its jagged maw opened unnaturally wide, and in a horrifying instant, Toshimaru vanished inside. No chewing. No sound. Just gone.

Fushigini’s cry was cut short as the monster’s eyes flashed again. It swallowed her too, as if she’d never existed.

Inosun’s legs moved before his mind caught up. He sprinted toward the exit, panic clawing at his chest. Lanterns crashed against the walls as he threw them one after another — flames exploding, shadows writhing — but the beast was faster.

Its claws scraped stone. Its breath was rancid. It was on him.

Just as its jaws closed, Inosun’s hand brushed against the cursed object hanging at his side. Instinct — or desperation — took over. He smashed it into the ground.

A surge of burning light erupted from the shards, flooding his veins with power. He didn’t think. He attacked.

The next thing he knew, he was inside the beast — no, ripping it apart from within. Blood and shadow spilled in every direction. The monster roared, its body unraveling into smoke.

In the fading darkness, a voice spoke from somewhere deep inside his mind.

"I am Rioten Tangen. You have broken my curse. I will house your soul… to take my revenge on my brother."

Inosun collapsed, gasping. He staggered to where Toshimaru and Fushigini lay on the ground. Their bodies were whole, but they did not wake.

Then came the tearing. A wrenching pain that split him in two. His vision went white.

When it cleared, he was no longer in the temple.

He stood in a vast, endless void. Before him, a throne of black stone rose from the mist. Upon it sat a tall figure, crowned in gold, eyes glowing like the beast’s — yet colder.

"I am Rioten… and you are now bound to me."

The darkness around Inosun began to shift, thick with heat and a strange pulse. A voice echoed inside his skull, deep and ancient.

"I am Rioten Tangen…"

Before Inosun could speak, the shadows parted. He saw a man seated upon a throne of molten rock, a crown of fire burning above his head.

"Let me tell you a story," Rioten said, his voice like crackling embers.

"I was born from the Spirit Realm Orb — created alongside my brother. I wielded fire, he wielded ice. We were brothers not by blood, but by creation itself… and we loved each other.

But the Eight Clans feared us. They knew that if our elements ever fused, it would create the Heaven’s Violet Void — a divine force capable of erasing not just flesh, but soul, spirit… even entire worlds.

So, they tore us apart.

I learned to use my fire to heal — to restore even the cells of the dead. My brother… he used his ice to destroy, freezing kingdoms in his pride. Over time, I grew humble. He… became arrogant.

Six hundred and sixty years ago, we met on the battlefield. Fire clashed with ice, and our powers merged… birthing the Heaven’s Violet Void. The explosion tore open the boundaries between realms, allowing magic beasts to spill into the human world.

The Maru Clan and the Ooni-chan of the Satano Clan sealed us away that day, shattering our souls into twenty fragments, scattering them across worlds.

And now, Inosun…" Rioten leaned forward, his burning eyes locking with Inosun’s trembling gaze. "My mission is to restore my soul. And for that… I need you."

Let's form a pact rioten said allowing inosun to live a normal life in exchange for restoring him to achieve his mission but inosuns brain couldn't carry the meaning of a pact "dumbass a pact is an agreement between us and if you don't adhere to it you will be punished by nature and pick up that scroll it gives me the ability to seal someone in it" rioten tangen said so he let inosun out. He goes back to school at kabusaki high but he never saw fushigini and toshimaru there again he hanged out with his friends reo and yoshino and forgot about the roles that awaits him to play.

Part two at a Tokyo station at night a boy of sixteen years is seen with a scroll and an object his name was toma nishido he had broken the curse of rioten teakuna (tangens brother) he told toma about his brother and his past life. Toma agreed to do it for him to join the Tokyo jinkai high and they forged a pact this episode had triggered the awakening of the twin souls in order to hunt scrolls before it was too late
