Whispers of the Broken Sky
Episode 5 – “Dance with the Devil”

1 – After the Party
The SkyDome Hotel was quiet now.
The golden lights had dimmed, the music was gone, and most guests had already left.
Only the sound of soft rain outside filled the silence.
Ubaidkk walked down the marble hallway, Holmes beside him, both deep in thought.
Neither spoke until they reached the parking area.
Holmes broke the silence.
> “He didn’t kill you tonight. That means he’s interested.
But interest from Vincenzo is like a wolf smiling at you.”
Ubaidkk smirked.
> “I’ve dealt with wolves before.”
Holmes shook his head.
“Not this one.”
From the corner of his eye, Ubaidkk saw Lina walking toward them, her silver dress shimmering even in the dim light.
She didn’t smile this time.

2 – Lina’s Risk
Lina stopped in front of him.
Her voice was low, urgent.
> “You should disappear before sunrise.
Tonight was only an invitation. The real game hasn’t started.”
Ubaidkk stepped closer, his tone calm.
> “Why do you care if I disappear?”
Her eyes flickered, just for a second.
> “Because…” she paused, “…you don’t belong in his world. And people like you don’t survive long here.”
Holmes was watching the exchange closely, but said nothing.
The air between Ubaidkk and Lina was heavy, like two magnets being pulled together but separated by danger.
Finally, she whispered:
> “If you stay, remember one thing — trust no one. Not even me.”
She walked away quickly, heels clicking on the marble floor.
Holmes gave Ubaidkk a side glance.
> “She’s trouble.”
Ubaidkk replied:
“Yeah… but the kind worth getting in trouble for.”

3 – The Devil’s Punishment
Next evening, Vincenzo made his move.
He sent a car — not an invitation, but an order.
The car took them to an abandoned dock by the river.
Dim streetlamps lit the wet ground.
Men in black stood around, forming a circle.
In the center, a man was kneeling, hands tied, face swollen from a beating.
Holmes whispered:
> “That’s Park Jin-soo… one of his own admin.”
Vincenzo stepped forward, wearing a perfectly tailored coat, his expression calm.
He addressed the kneeling man.
> “You stole from me. Worse… you lied.”
The man cried, begging for mercy.
Vincenzo didn’t raise his voice.
> “Loyalty is not negotiable.
And betrayal… is final.”
He pulled a gun from his coat and fired one shot to the man’s head.
No hesitation. No emotion.
The sound echoed across the river.
Everyone was silent — except Vincenzo, who looked at Ubaidkk directly.
> “This is how you dance with me. Every step… has a cost.”
---
4 – The First Task
After the execution, Vincenzo approached.
> “You’re still here. Good. That means you’re ready.”
He handed Ubaidkk a small envelope.
Inside was a photo of a man in his 40s — wearing an expensive suit, but with cold, shark-like eyes.
> “This is Han Dae-sung. He runs weapons through the city. I need him removed. Quietly.”
Holmes frowned.
> “Removed?”
Vincenzo smiled.
“Alive or dead. I don’t care. But make sure the world knows he lost to me.”
Ubaidkk pocketed the envelope.
> “Why me?”
“Because,” Vincenzo said, “I want to see if you can be more than a guest at my table.”
---
5 – Planning the Move
Back at their hideout, Holmes spread the photo and a map on the table.
> “Han’s always guarded. But tomorrow night, he’s hosting a small poker game at a rooftop bar.”
Ubaidkk leaned over the map.
> “We go in as players. Win his money. Win his temper. Then… finish it.”
Holmes nodded slowly.
> “Dangerous. But possible.
I’ll handle the exit route. You… handle the conversation.”
---
6 – A Quiet Moment with Lina
Before the mission, Ubaidkk found himself outside a café.
Lina was there, sitting alone, reading a book.
She looked up, surprised to see him.
> “I thought you’d be gone by now,” she said.
“I’m still thinking about it,” Ubaidkk replied.
They talked quietly for a while — about everything except Vincenzo.
For a moment, it felt like they were just two strangers in a peaceful city.
As they stood to leave, Lina stepped closer.
Her hand brushed against his.
> “If you’re going after Han Dae-sung… be careful. He’s worse than Vincenzo in some ways.”
Ubaidkk tilted his head.
> “You’ve met him?”
She didn’t answer — only walked away, her perfume lingering in the air.

7 – The Rooftop Game
The next night, the rooftop bar glittered with neon lights and expensive laughter.
Han Dae-sung sat at the main table, smoking a cigar, piles of cash in front of him.
Ubaidkk and Holmes approached as players.
Han eyed them suspiciously, but allowed them to join.
The game began.
Ubaidkk played calmly, letting Han win at first.
Then, with one perfect hand, he took the entire pot.
Han’s smile faded.
> “Beginner’s luck?”
Ubaidkk leaned forward.
“No. Just better than you.”
The insult worked.
Han stood, grabbed Ubaidkk by the collar — and that’s when Holmes made his move, flipping the table and creating chaos.
In the confusion, Ubaidkk slammed Han’s head into the table and whispered:
> “Vincenzo says hello.”
They left before security could catch them — Han bleeding, humiliated in front of his men.
---
8 – Vincenzo’s Approval
Back at the dock, Vincenzo listened to the story, smiling faintly.
> “You didn’t kill him… interesting. That sends a stronger message.”
He stepped closer.
> “Maybe you’re not just another man who will disappear.”
Ubaidkk didn’t smile back.
> “I’m not here to be your soldier.”
Vincenzo chuckled.
“Not yet.”
---
9 – Cliffhanger
As they turned to leave, Holmes’ phone buzzed.
He read the message, his face going pale.
> “Ubaid… we have a problem.”
He handed the phone to Ubaidkk.
It was a photo.
Lina — tied to a chair, a gun to her head.
Caption: “Your move.”
Ubaidkk clenched his fists.
Holmes muttered:
> “The dance just got faster.”
