Episode 4 – “The Devil’s Invitation”

1 – The Arrival
The rain had stopped hours ago, but the streets still shimmered with its memory. Black cars lined the driveway of the SkyDome Hotel, Seoul’s most expensive and exclusive building.
Ubaidkk stepped out of a taxi, dressed in a black suit that wasn’t his — borrowed from Holmes, who stood beside him in his signature dark coat.
“This is it?” Ubaidkk asked, looking up at the glass tower disappearing into the clouds.
“This,” Holmes said, “is the devil’s living room.”
Security in tailored suits stood at the entrance. They didn’t check IDs. They didn’t need to. If you were here, Vincenzo had already approved your presence… or planned your destruction.
The lobby opened into a golden-lit ballroom, where hundreds of Seoul’s most powerful people gathered. Politicians, CEOs, foreign diplomats — and every single one of them owed something to Vincenzo.
Holmes leaned close. “Rule one: Don’t eat anything until you see him take a bite.”
“Poison?” Ubaidkk asked.
Holmes smirked. “Paranoia.”

2 – The Unexpected Performance
Music started — smooth jazz at first. But then the lights shifted, turning into deep purple and electric blue. A familiar beat echoed through the hall.
“What the hell…” Ubaidkk muttered.
Holmes raised an eyebrow. “Oh no.”
And then, out of the backstage shadows, BTS walked in. Yes, that BTS.
The crowd exploded in applause. Even the coldest politicians stood and clapped.
The boys took the stage in sleek black-and-silver outfits, launching into an electrifying dance routine. J-Hope and Jimin moved like lightning, Jungkook hit every beat with surgical precision. RM rapped a verse that made even Holmes raise his eyebrows.
“Vincenzo hired BTS… for a party?” Ubaidkk said.
Holmes replied, “No. BTS is here to make everyone relax. While the music plays, the deals happen quietly.”
Ubaidkk glanced around — indeed, in the corners of the room, powerful men whispered over champagne glasses while pretending to enjoy the performance.
Halfway through, J-Hope spotted Ubaidkk in the crowd.
“Yo! New guy in the black suit — you dance?”
The spotlight suddenly hit Ubaidkk. The crowd looked at him.
“Oh no,” Holmes muttered.
Ubaidkk grinned, stepped forward, and copied a few moves — surprisingly well. J-Hope laughed, Jungkook clapped mid-dance, and the crowd cheered.
Lina, standing near the champagne table, tried not to smile… and failed.
Holmes whispered under his breath, “This is ridiculous.”

3 – Lina’s Warning… Again
After the performance ended, the room returned to its quiet elegance. Soft piano music replaced the bass-heavy beats.
Lina appeared beside Ubaidkk, looking stunning in a silver dress.
“You shouldn’t be here,” she said.
“You keep saying that,” Ubaidkk replied. “And yet… here I am.”
Her eyes darted to the far end of the hall. “He’s watching.”
Ubaidkk followed her gaze — Vincenzo stood on the balcony above, glass of wine in hand, eyes fixed on him like a hawk.
Lina leaned closer. “He doesn’t invite people to parties. He invites them to tests.”
“Good,” Ubaidkk said calmly. “I’ve always been good at tests.”

4 – The Approach
Holmes joined them. “It’s time.”
Two men in black approached and gestured politely. No words. No explanation. Just a silent request to follow.
They led Ubaidkk and Holmes up a spiral staircase to a private lounge.
The room was warm, decorated in dark wood and leather. On the wall — a giant map of Seoul with red pins scattered like drops of blood.
Vincenzo stood at the window, looking out at the city lights. He turned slowly, every movement deliberate, like a man who controlled not just the room, but the air inside it.
“Mr. Ubaidkk,” he said, voice smooth as silk. “Welcome to my city.”

5 – The Conversation
Ubaidkk didn’t sit until Vincenzo gestured.
Wine was poured into three glasses. Vincenzo took the first sip himself — Holmes gave a small nod to Ubaidkk, meaning safe.
“You’ve been making noise,” Vincenzo began. “Small noise, but enough for me to hear it.”
“Wasn’t trying to be quiet,” Ubaidkk replied.
Vincenzo smirked. “Good. I don’t like quiet people. They hide too much.”
He studied Ubaidkk for a moment. “Tell me… what do you want?”
Ubaidkk met his gaze. “Answers.”
“About?”
“Why people I care about are afraid to say your name out loud.”
Vincenzo chuckled. “Fear is a useful currency. More stable than money.”
He leaned forward. “You think you can stand against me?”
Ubaidkk didn’t blink. “I think I can stand in front of you without bowing. That’s a start.”
Holmes shifted slightly, ready in case things went bad.
Vincenzo finally smiled — genuinely. “Interesting. Most men who talk like you end up buried before sunrise.”
He swirled his wine. “But you… you might be useful.”

6 – The Offer
“I have enemies,” Vincenzo continued. “Loud ones. Messy ones. They think I am… untouchable.”
He set down his glass. “Prove them wrong, and I will give you what you want.”
Ubaidkk asked, “And if I say no?”
Vincenzo’s eyes hardened. “Then your story ends tonight.”
Silence filled the room. The soft hum of the city below was the only sound.
Finally, Ubaidkk stood. “I don’t work for devils.”
Vincenzo raised an eyebrow. “Then pray your God is stronger than me.”
Holmes stepped between them. “We’ll think about it.”
Vincenzo didn’t stop them from leaving. But his last words followed Ubaidkk out the door:
“The sky breaks for everyone, Mr. Ubaidkk. The question is… who survives the fall?”

7 – The Balcony Scene
Back in the ballroom, BTS was gone, but the party continued. Lina stood alone on the balcony.
Ubaidkk joined her.
“You met him,” she said softly.
“Yes.”
“And?”
“He’s exactly what I thought… and worse.”
She looked at him. “Then you know you should run.”
Ubaidkk stared out at the skyline. “No. I think I’ll dance a little longer.”
Holmes appeared behind them. “Then I suggest you learn the steps quickly. Because in this dance… missing a beat can kill you.”
