Whispers of the Broken Sky
Episode 2 – “The Man Who Sees Everything”
Written by Ubaid KK

The rain had stopped, but Seoul still smelled of the storm.
Wet streets glistened under the grey morning light. Cars hissed past, tires cutting through puddles. People moved fast, umbrellas folded under their arms, like the city itself was in a hurry to forget the night.
Ubaidkk stepped out of his hotel. Hoodie up, hands in pockets, head down.
But his mind was awake — sharper than the air around him.
Last night… Vincenzo.
The name was still echoing in his head. A name he didn’t want to remember, but couldn’t forget.

The Street Roast
He walked down the alley behind Gangnam’s main street. That’s when trouble appeared — three guys, flashy clothes, expensive sneakers, faces full of fake confidence.
“Hey, you. Stop.” One of them stepped forward. “You dropped something.”
Ubaidkk looked down. Nothing. “Yeah? What?”
“Your dignity.” The guy smirked, his friends laughed.
Ubaidkk sighed. “Bro, if you’re going to insult me, at least be creative. That line’s older than your sneakers… and trust me, those are old.”
One of them got angry, grabbed his shoulder.
In one quick move, Ubaidkk twisted his arm and pushed him against the wall.
“No touching,” he said calmly. “I’m allergic to cheap perfume and bad intentions.”
The other two stepped back.
“Walk away,” Ubaidkk told them. “Before you make me late for something important… like breakfast.”
They disappeared into the street. Ubaidkk didn’t look back.

The Rooftop Tension
Later that day, he found Lina.
She was standing on a rooftop terrace, looking over the city. The wind played with her hair.
“You’re following me now?” she asked without turning.
“Not really. The city is small,” Ubaidkk replied. “Or maybe you’re just easy to find.”
She finally looked at him.
“You shouldn’t be here.”
“And you shouldn’t be in his world,” he shot back.
Her eyes softened for a moment. “It’s not that simple.”
“It never is,” he said, stepping closer. “But tell me one thing… last time we spoke, you promised you’d protect me. What happened?”
She looked away. “Promises… don’t survive storms.”
Before he could reply, her phone rang. She answered quickly, voice low.
When she hung up, she said, “You need to go. Now.”
“Why?”
“Because he’s already looking for you.”

Vincenzo’s Move
Across the city, Vincenzo sat in his penthouse.
He was reading a file.
A photo of Ubaidkk was clipped to the first page.
“Interesting,” Vincenzo murmured, flipping his silver coin. “The boy from Karachi walks into my city without fear. Let’s see how far his courage goes.”
He poured himself a drink and made a call. “Find out who he talks to. And who talks to him.”

The Man in the Cafe
Evening.
Ubaidkk sat in a small corner cafe, drinking black coffee.
Rain had started again — soft, almost gentle this time.
He noticed a man sitting two tables away.
Tall, thin, wearing a long dark coat. A newspaper in front of him, but his eyes… they were watching everything. Every movement. Every sound.
When Ubaidkk got up to leave, the man spoke without looking up:
“You hide your anger well. Almost as well as you hide your Karachi street accent when you speak Korean.”
Ubaidkk stopped. “Do I know you?”
The man folded his newspaper, stood up slowly.
“Not yet. But you will.”
He extended his hand. “Alexander Holmes. I see things… things that others miss. And right now, I see you walking into a storm that’s bigger than you can imagine.”
Ubaidkk didn’t shake his hand. “And why should I care?”
Holmes smiled — a sharp, knowing smile.
“Because the man you’re chasing… is already chasing you.”
The rain hit the windows harder. The city lights blurred.
And in that moment, Ubaidkk knew — this stranger wasn’t just watching.
He was part of the game.
To be continued…
