WHISPERS OF THE BROKEN SKY
WHISPERS OF THE BROKEN SKY
Episode 1 – Arrival, Roasts, and Rain
Written by: Ubaidkk

Seoul – 9:15 PM
The rain didn’t fall softly tonight. It slammed against the streets like the sky had finally lost patience with the city.
Car lights smeared into long blurs, and umbrellas moved like colorful mushrooms under the storm.
From the airport gates, Ubaidkk stepped out, dragging a worn black suitcase. His hoodie was half-zipped, his shoes were wet, but his eyes… they were sharp. Not the eyes of a tourist. Not the eyes of someone here for fun.
He tilted his head back and looked at the city.
“Seoul… you haven’t changed. Just got richer, louder… and maybe a bit uglier.”
His lips twitched into the kind of smirk people hate without knowing why.

Flashback – Karachi, 1 week ago
“Are you really going?” the old man had asked him over tea.
“Yeah,” Ubaidkk replied. “The rain there feels different. And… someone owes me answers.”
“Or maybe you owe yourself some peace,” the old man said.
Peace wasn’t in his dictionary.

Present – Seoul Streets
The driver of a black limousine held out an umbrella. “Sir, Ms. Lina sent me to pick you—”
“I’ll walk,” Ubaidkk cut him off.
“But sir, it’s raining heavily—”
“I’m not made of sugar,” he muttered and started walking into the storm.

Gangnam – The Hotel Lobby
Gold chandeliers. Marble floors. Rich people pretending their laughter was natural.
Ubaidkk stepped in, dripping water, ignoring the way a security guard eyed his clothes.
That’s when she walked in.
A woman in a red silk dress, diamonds like tiny suns around her neck. The kind who thinks the world rotates on her mood.
She stopped in front of him, her perfume sharp.
“Hello. Do you know who I am?” she asked, tilting her chin like gravity had no right to touch her.
“No,” Ubaidkk said flatly.
“You will know me. And when you do, you will be shocked.”
“I’m not looking to be shocked.” He stepped past her. “It’s bad for my heart.”
Her jaw dropped. “Do you always talk like this to strangers?”
He glanced back. “No. Only to rich strangers who think they’re the main character in everyone’s life.”
A man nearby choked on his champagne. The lady’s heels clicked away in rage.

The Rooftop
Later that night, Ubaidkk stood on the rooftop balcony of his hotel suite.
From here, Seoul looked like a sea of electric stars.
And yet, the sky above looked broken, clouds torn apart by wind.
He whispered, almost to himself:
“The sky is broken… just like her promise.”
The door behind him clicked open.
“Talking to the weather?” a soft voice asked.
He turned.
Lina.
Black coat. Long hair dripping rainwater. Eyes that carried both softness and a weight he couldn’t name.
“You didn’t tell me you’d arrive early,” she said.
“You didn’t tell me Vincenzo’s men were watching me from the airport.”
Her eyes flickered. “You’re still sharp.”
“And you’re still hiding things,” he replied.

Flashback – Two Years Ago
A street in Busan.
A younger Ubaidkk laughing with Lina under a small umbrella.
“I’ll protect you,” she had said.
“From what?”
“From the sky when it breaks.”
He had laughed back then. He didn’t laugh now.
---
Present
Lina walked closer. “Vincenzo doesn’t like… uninvited guests.”
“I’m not a guest,” Ubaidkk said. “I’m a debt collector. And he owes me more than money.”
“You’ll get yourself killed,” she whispered.
“Maybe. But at least I’ll die after returning the favor.”

Gangnam Streets – Midnight
Ubaidkk walked alone, hoodie up.
A group of drunk rich kids stumbled out of a club, laughing. One of them bumped into him and spilled a drink on his hoodie.
“Watch where you’re going, peasant,” the kid sneered.
Ubaidkk looked at him calmly. “Do you know who I am?”
“No, and I don’t care.”
“Good. Then you won’t see me coming next time.”
The kid’s friends laughed nervously as Ubaidkk walked away.
He wasn’t here to play. He was here to start a storm.

Ending Scene – Vincenzo’s Office
Somewhere high above the city, Vincenzo poured himself wine, his Italian suit flawless.
“Ubaidkk is in Seoul,” one of his men said.
Vincenzo smiled faintly. “Then the whispers will begin again. The sky… is about to break.”
The camera would fade out here if this were a drama.
But this wasn’t a drama. This was a war.
