Mahi, forcing a fake smile on her face, said to Himanshu,

"You don’t worry about her. I will see how she studies and how she improves her score."

Saying this, Mahi left for home. Watching her leave like that, Himanshu said in a confused tone,

"What happened to her suddenly? Why did she leave like that?"

Rahul glared at him and said,

"Himanshu, sometimes you speak too much, and in such times it feels—"

Himanshu made a face and then said,

"Oh brother, I only said it for her own good. We all know how low her marks are in every subject, and how much she gets scolded and even beaten by her parents because of it. She even gets punished by them because of this."

Noor said to him,

"Yes, but the way you said it was a little different. It had a taunting tone, that’s why she felt bad. We also know that you spoke for her benefit, but your words were a little taunting."

Himanshu twisted his mouth and said,

"There is no era left for kindness. Whoever you speak for, they get angry and leave. And here, her boyfriend is fighting with me because of her. You guys do whatever you want; I’m going to attend my lecture."

Saying this, Himanshu left for his lecture. Everyone kept looking at him as he walked away.

Noor watched him leave and said,

"There’s no use in saying anything to him. If you say something, he gets angry, and the other person also gets angry. When will he ever understand this?"

Atiksh took a deep breath and said,

"It’s okay, in a little while his mood will be fine, and he will come back again."

Drishti supported Atiksh’s words and said,

"Yes, both their moods will get better. You all know they keep fighting like Tom and Jerry. They’ll make up this time too. I will talk to Mahi after college is over. Now come on, we are getting late for class."

Everyone went to attend their respective lectures. In this way, evening came and college was over. Drishti went home with Atiksh. When both of them reached home, Drishti looked at her Bullet in the parking area.

Seeing that Bullet smashed and broken, sadness spread across her face. But she didn’t say anything, lowered her head, and went inside the house. Atiksh noticed everything but he couldn’t do anything at the moment either.

When Drishti and Atiksh entered the house, Atiksh’s father saw them coming and said,

"Oh, you two are here. Come, sit here, I was waiting for both of you."

When Drishti heard Atiksh’s father’s words, she started looking at him. Then she looked at Atiksh and asked him with gestures,

"Did something happen? Why did Uncle call us?"

Atiksh shook his head in a “no” with gestures. This is Mr. Mehta, Atiksh’s father. He doesn’t seem as strict as he looks, but he is very strict about rules and his work. He has taken responsibility for Drishti, or you can say that he is Drishti’s guardian.

Mr. Mehta saw Atiksh and Drishti talking in gestures and then said to them,

"I’m not going to scold you two. Come here quickly; I need to talk to both of you."

Hearing his words, Drishti and Atiksh sat on the sofa in front of Mr. Mehta. Mr. Mehta cleared his throat and spoke in a serious tone,

"You know, Drishti, someone has damaged your Bullet."

Drishti looked at Mr. Mehta and her eyes welled up. She didn’t say anything. But Mr. Mehta understood her heart. He placed a pamphlet in front of her and said,

"I was thinking of gifting you a Bullet bike for your birthday, so choose one from this that you like. I will bring it on your birthday."

Drishti looked at the pamphlet, but there was no excitement on her face. In a sad tone, she said to Mr. Mehta,

"But Uncle, that bike was my father’s last memento. He gifted it to me the last time, and I really liked that bike. Uncle, it was the last memory of my father."

Mr. Mehta took a deep breath and explained to her,

"I know, child, that bike was your favorite, and your father had gifted it to you. But what can we do now? We can’t bring it back to its original form, right? And everything has its own particular time. Maybe that was the length of its journey. Slowly, with time, we have to move forward, and all the memories you have with your brother will always stay with you, right?"

Drishti nodded her head in agreement. Her eyes were still moist. She wiped the tears from her eyes and then looked at the pamphlet and said,

"Uncle, I will tell you after seeing it. You will give it, right?"

Drishti looked at Mr. Mehta with a normal expression.

Mr. Mehta laughed and said to her,

"Yes, my dear, I am not lying. This time, I really thought of gifting you a bike on your birthday. If you want, you can ask your aunt."

Mrs. Mehta, who was working in the kitchen, came out and sat next to Drishti, saying,

"Yes, dear, this time your uncle is telling the truth. Choose the bike you like, and that Bullet will arrive on your birthday. And this time, choose a good and expensive one. Don’t think about how costly it is because your uncle is being generous for the first time. Otherwise, he always tries to save money."

Mr. Mehta glared and scolded her lightly, saying,

"When did I ever do that? Whatever you like, I always get it for you. Has there ever been a time when you asked for something and I didn’t bring it? Maybe it took some time, but I brought it. Calling me stingy like this has disappointed me, Mrs."

Mrs. Mehta forced a fake smile and said,

"Oh no, I was just saying that you always do bargaining, so I was just saying that you don’t start doing that at the showroom too."

Drishti and Atiksh looked at each other and then at the two of them, because now the chances of a fight were high. Drishti calmed them both down and said,

"You two are dragging the matter somewhere else. First, let me select the Bullet, and then we’ll see."

Saying this, Drishti and Atiksh left from there. After they left, Mrs. Mehta looked at Mr. Mehta and said in a threatening tone,

"This time, no bargaining or anything else will happen. Whatever she likes, you will buy that. Otherwise, because of you, she will choose a cheap bike, and I also want that she is not disappointed on this birthday. Understood?"

Saying this, Mrs. Mehta went back to her work. Watching her leave, Mr. Mehta muttered to himself,

"You are saying it as if I have never given her what she wanted. Oh, she is my daughter too, not just yours. Whatever she wants, I will give it to her."
