Duke

Zeline had just entered the office when her secretary greeted her, she was agitated.

“Ms.Craven, the engineer who will handle Mr. Tan's project was arrived 30 minutes ago. He's currently at the meeting room, waiting” the secretary informed Zeline as they boarded the elevator.

“Just get the things I need for the meeting. I will go straight there ”Zeline explained calmly as she walked out of the elevator.

Duke Stood and looking outside the glass wall, his hands were both in the pocket of his pants when Zeline entered the room. He turned around to see who’s approaching him.

With a polite smile the woman asked him "maybe, you're the engineer?"

Duke nodded with a bored look but the possessed beauty of the woman did not escape his sharp eyes even if it was just hearing simple office attire.

“Sorry, Im late. I’m the Company Owner, I'm Zeline.” she politely and held out her hand in front of Duke.

“I hope it won’t happen again,Ms. Zeline” Duke said wryly then added “I'm Duke”

With a disdain looked at the offered hand, Zeline thought to lower it but before that happened Duke quick reflexes grabbed her hand. Zeline's chest throbbed loudly as she looked at her hand with Duke's hand. Her eyes slowly rose until her shocked eyes met Duke’s predatory eyes. The frugal smile drew on the red and thin lips but did not reach its eyes.

“Let’s proceed" Duke said coolly and let go her hand.

She let out a breath that she didn't notice she had been holding back.‘What was that?’ She asked herself.

From time to time, Zeline caught Engineer Duke's eye scanning her body but when their eyes met he just smile and act as if nothing happened. After an hour, the discussion of the two was over.

'Finally, finished!' she said mentally and her face enlightened with relief.

“It's nice to discuss business with you, Ms.Zeline” Duke commented with a smile and held out a hand to the woman.

Zeline welcomed his hand and thank him with gratitude.

“I'm looking forward to talk to you more about something more interesting than business” Duke said meaningfully then bowed slightly to give Zeline's hand a kiss then left.

A few minutes passed but Zeline was still there, standing while her one hand was on her chest.'Weird. It feels like I’ll be in panic attack any moment’ she said mentally. She was still in that state when her secretary Venice came in holding some folders.

“Ms. Craven ”Venice called to Zeline, but she did not say a word.

“Ms. Craven? ” his second call but his employer was still silent.

Worried, she approached her boss and then waved a hand across it's face and then asked “Ms. Craven, are you okay?”

Because of what Venice did, Zeline came to her senses and smiled awkwardly and made an instant excuse to say to her worried secretary.

“I'm sorry I didn't pay attention maybe it's the effect of overworked” she said awkwardly.

‘Crap.’ She mentally said to herself.
