Ch.3 Did you just realize you should come say hi?

"I'm Ton Nam. I really love sports. Personally, I’m not too fond of going to class. I’m a bit of a troublemaker, but my test scores have never been bad. I often sneak naps in the back of the room too. A bad boy like me? Girls line up for that,” he said with a grin.

“And one more thing—I actually chose to sit in the back so I could be in the same row as Phat. Truth is, I like sneaking glances at him. Sometimes I even think, ‘Wow, the back of Phat’s neck is really pretty. So fair and smooth.’ Ha ha! Just random thoughts, really.”

“I want to be close with Phat again, like we were when we were kids. But I don’t know why… it feels like the distance between us just keeps growing. Or maybe… maybe I’m the reason it’s become this way.”

“Phat has always been really good at getting along with others. That makes my heart race and puts me on edge every time I see him smiling or laughing with other Alphas around him.”

After spending a while lost in his thoughts, Ton Nam stood up from his seat in the back of the classroom and, without hesitation, walked over to Phat.

“Phat! Hey,” Ton Nam said as he came to stand in front of him.

“Oh! Ton Nam… Just remembered to come say hi, huh?” Phat greeted him back with a hint of hurt in his voice.

“No, I’ve been meaning to come say hi for days now—ever since you got back from abroad. I just never had the chance. You always seemed so busy,” Ton Nam replied, offering a sheepish smile.

“So what were you doing sitting at the back of the class? Did you even understand what the teacher was teaching? Why aren’t you paying attention in class?” Phat mumbled in a scolding tone.

“Alright, alright. I’ll move up and sit with Phu Pha then. Happy now?” Ton Nam replied with a wide grin.

“Since when did you become such a slacker?” Phat continued to mutter, clearly not done complaining.

“Since you left me to study abroad without even saying a word,” Ton Nam said, looking at Phat with a hint of hurt in his voice.

“I didn’t leave you. I just went to study—and now I’m back. What’s there to be upset about?” Phat shot back quickly, as if they were bickering like old times.

While the two were deeply engaged in their back-and-forth, the professor walked into the classroom. Everyone quickly returned to their seats—except Ton Nam, who moved to sit next to Phu Pha as promised. The lesson proceeded smoothly, and from that day on, Ton Nam and Phat began talking more and more.

“Tomorrow I have basketball practice. Will you come watch?” Ton Nam asked, turning to Phat with an inviting look.

“I’ll have to see. I’ve got a club meeting tomorrow,” Phat replied.

“Alright, whatever works for you. But I’ll be waiting,” Ton Nam said with a playful smirk.

Art Club

Phat was diligently working on his art project. He was drawing the backyard garden, a place full of memories—where he and Ton Nam first met. In the drawing, there was a large cherry tree and a long-haired boy lying on the ground with a book covering his face.

“Phat, what are you drawing? It’s beautiful. Huh… but the boy in the picture looks oddly familiar,” Professor Alex said, eyeing the painting on the easel curiously.

“Oh, this is my grandma’s backyard. The boy in the drawing is a childhood friend. He used to come play with me every Sunday,” Pat replied with a faint smile, his eyes full of warmth and joy.

“It’s really well done. The mood, the use of light and shadow, the color balance—it all works,” Professor Alex praised the artwork sincerely.

“Thank you, Professor. I’m planning to display this one at the upcoming exhibition,” Phat replied, beaming with pride.

“Absolutely. You’ve got real talent,” Professor Alex said, clearly impressed.

“Professor, if it’s alright, I’d like to leave a bit early today,” Phat asked politely. He planned to sneak out early to catch Ton Nam’s basketball practice.

“Sure. If you’ve finished everything, you’re free to go,” Professor Alex responded.

Phat quickly packed up his things and left the art club room, heading toward the basketball court behind Building 5. On the way, he stopped to buy a variety of drinks for everyone on the basketball team.

He didn’t want people thinking he was following Ton Nam around, so he made sure to keep some distance. Even though deep down, he had always known exactly how he felt about Ton Nam.

From childhood until now, Phat had always had feelings for him—but Ton Nam had never once noticed.

Phat walked to the basketball court carrying a large bag filled with energy drinks for the whole team.

“Phat, why’d you buy so much? From now on, just buy for me,” Ton Nam said in a whiny tone.

“What? The others need drinks too, you know. What’s up with you, Ton Nam? You’re acting like a spoiled kid,” Phat mumbled back teasingly.

“Hey, do you two know each other?” Nopasorn (an Alpha) walked up to Phat and asked Ton Nam directly.

“Yes. Phat and I grew up together—we’re childhood friends,” Ton Nam answered immediately, turning toward the voice.

“Just friends, right?” Nopasorn looked Ton Nam in the eye, asking with a serious expression, clearly wanting a real answer.

“Yes… just friends,” Phat replied softly as he glanced at Ton Nam.

Phat’s answer made Ton Nam inexplicably upset. His face turned sour, and he fell silent. He didn’t know what was happening inside him—why he was feeling this way. There was a strange irritation boiling inside, but he kept it all in, unable to express anything outwardly. Still, his heart was restless.

“If you and Phat don’t have feelings for each other and you’re really just friends… then I’m going to pursue him. Damn, he’s gorgeous. That fair skin… just makes you want to protect him,” Nopasorn said, making it clear to Ton Nam that he had his eyes on Pat.

And Nopasorn wasn’t lacking in any way compared to Ton Nam—he was one of the top players too. Smart, talented, and active in school life, he was well-known on campus.

So him wanting to court Phat wasn’t strange at all. He was single and definitely had the credentials. That only made Ton Nam even more irritated.

He felt possessive of Pat and didn’t want anyone else getting close. But the label “just friends” made it hard for him to claim Pat as his own.

“What do you think, Pat? Anyway, it’s not like I can stop you,” Ton Nam said, turning to Nopasorn, his tone flat and direct.

“Alright then. I hope you’re not going to be a jealous watchdog,” Nopasorn laughed lightly and gave Ton Nam a friendly pat on the shoulder.

“I don’t have the right to be jealous. Do whatever he wants!” Ton Nam shot a sharp look at Phat as he spoke, his voice tinged with sarcasm. Then he turned and walked off toward the basketball court.

After basketball practice ended, Patara walked out from the bleachers, heading toward the school’s front parking lot.

"Patara! Are you free this evening?" Nopasorn approached and asked.

"Ah! I think I already have plans. Let me check first. Why do you ask?" Patara replied.

"Well, I was wondering if you'd like to have dinner together this evening," Nopasorn asked without hesitation.

"Sorry, I don't think I can today, Brother Nopasorn. I’ve already made plans with my mom," Patara replied.

"Ah, I see. Maybe another time, then," Nopasorn responded, his tone laced with disappointment.

"Okay, I’ll get going now. My mom's waiting," Patra said before walking away.

He exited from behind Building Five and headed straight for the parking lot. Ton Nam followed closely behind. The murmurs of other students reached them faintly along the way.

"Patra! Are you going straight home?" Ton Nam asked, turning to him.

"Yeah, I have to study for exams. What about you?" Patara responded, looking at Ton Nam.

"Hmm… Not yet. I have plans—with a girl. Taking her out to eat, I mean! Haha," Ton Nam laughed lightly, answering without much thought.

"Oh… okay. Just don’t forget to protect yourself, alright? If you get her pregnant, it’ll be a big problem," Patara said softly, looking at the taller boy, as if slightly disappointed.

"Of course, I never slip up," Ton Nam replied with a faint smile, then pulled a condom from his bag and held it up for Patra to see.

"…."

"I’ll be off then, Patara. Ploypailin’s waiting for me."

“Drive safe,”

“Okay! I’m off now, Phat. Ton Nam’s gotta take a girl to check in at that new hotel. See you tomorrow!” Ton Nam flashed Phat a smile, waved lightly, and immediately walked toward the pretty young woman waiting in the parking lot.

“Yeah… Sure… See you,” Phat replied, watching Ton Nam walk away with his arm around a beautiful Omega girl until they disappeared from view.

A sharp pang hit Phat in the chest, but friendship—well, it only allowed for this much.

Hotel XX

Ton Nam took Ploypailin to check in at Hotel XX after treating her to a luxurious dinner.

The 28th-floor suite was spacious and opulent, fully equipped with every amenity, including a large jacuzzi tub offering a clear 360-degree city view. As usual, everything had been prepared in advance. The suite also had a small private saltwater pool.

Ton Nam always said, “I’m a tiger—if I’m going to hunt, that’s just normal.” For him, sex was natural.

Pailin had tried to seduce Ton Nam many times but had never succeeded—until tonight, when he didn’t reject her. In fact, he went all in, just like he always did.

Pailin changed into a tiny pink bikini and stepped into the pool. She looked beautiful and sexy in her swimwear, but it didn’t excite Ton Nam as much as one might expect. Still, he wasn’t about to let the opportunity go to waste.

He wasn’t particularly thrilled by the situation in front of him. He slowly unbuttoned his shirt while gazing out at the endless cityscape. The shimmering lights reflected off the surface of the saltwater pool. Soft music played in the background, creating a relaxed atmosphere.

Ton Nam stepped into the pool after her, gently wrapping his arms around her from behind. His hands slowly caressed her smooth skin before guiding her hands to grip the edge of the pool.

Her small hands gripped the edge tightly.

Even though it wasn’t her first time, Ton Nam’s appearance and physique still made her heart race uncontrollably. His large hands slid down, gently massaging and touching her—

Pailin’s voice stirred memories of someone else in Ton Nam’s mind. His thoughts kept circling around Patara’s laughter and smile as she interacted with the other Alphas. This only made the restlessness inside Ton Nam grow stronger without any clear reason.

His touches on Pailin became increasingly intense and rapid, as if he was unconsciously channeling his frustration onto her.

As Ton Nam let himself drift with the rising tide of emotions, a surge of frustration-laced pheromones burst forth from him, overwhelming the girl in front of him.

Her body trembled like a fragile kitten facing the unknown — a complex swirl of excitement, fear, and uncertainty taking over her senses.

Although Pailin showed no sign of resistance, Ton Nam felt that this time he might have crossed a line. His actions seemed too intense for her, and the conflicting emotions inside him grew stronger, clouding his mind with confusion.

He found himself unable to focus on the girl in front of him, whose soft moans filled the air, as images of Patra kept swirling in his thoughts.

This inner turmoil made him abruptly stop everything halfway through the act, just as Pailin was lost in pleasure and almost out of control. His sudden withdrawal surprised her.

“Pailin, I’m sorry. I think... it’s better if I stop here,” he said, his voice tinged with guilt—guilt toward Patara, even though their relationship was only childhood friends.

“But I’m really enjoying this, Ton Nam. Can’t we continue a little more?” the young woman pleaded softly, hoping to persuade him.

“I just can’t do it anymore. I’m really sorry. Right now, my mind is filled with thoughts of someone else.”

Pailin felt confused and disappointed by Ton Nam’s sudden halt. She was enjoying being the one receiving affection, yet now she was left with her feelings hanging in the air.

Ton Nam turned and climbed out of the pool immediately after stopping everything. He knew that his feelings for Patra were deeper than he had ever allowed himself to admit.
