Jonathan opened the door to find Lisa waiting, he let out a heavy sigh and scratched his head; it wasn’t a good idea for her to be there. He could already guess the reason—Dani must have blabbed about the girl he’d been with.
"Is everything okay?" She crossed her arms, looking at him with annoyance, taking in his appearance from head to toe. He was still wearing the same clothes as yesterday.
"Yeah. I need you to take care of the cafe today," he said without even inviting her in.
"Who is she? Yesterday you said there was no one else, and today you're opening the cafe late. Really, you ask an employee to open, and he didn't stay silent"he said you’re with a woman who’s wearing one of your shirts,"she retorted angrily. Jonathan raised an eyebrow."Answer, Jonathan. You never let us do anything at your place, claiming you wanted to respect it for your late parents,"she growled, clearly irritated."
"Enough, Lisa. I don’t owe you explanations. Just return to the cafe and fulfill your duties. I’ll pay you extra for helping today," he replied seriously; it was rare to see him like this, but he didn’t like giving explanations, and it wasn’t exactly the right time to do so.
"But..." Lisa swallowed hard. Jonathan tended to get like this"oddly serious"and it wasn’t that he was angry; he just didn’t want to explain himself. "I can smell alcohol on you," she said, noticing the scent. Jonathan let out a heavy sigh. "I’ll see you later," she turned on her heel and walked away.
Jonathan closed the door and locked it. Turning around, he found Hazel looking at him with sadness and disappointment. Ares started cursing him, and his head began to throb; he didn’t understand what was happening and felt utterly confused.
"You smell like her," Hazel said. "That human girl"you smell like her,"she added. Jonathan raised an eyebrow."Even though your scent on her is faint, but… did you have sex? Is she your mate?"she asked with a hint of sadness in her lovely brown eyes."
"Yes, no... Well, why do you say I smell like her?" he asked, confused. Hazel touched her nose with her index finger.
"I have a good sense of smell; I’m a wolf," she replied. Jonathan nodded. "Are you going to reject me?" she asked again. Jonathan stepped closer to her.
"Listen, Hazel, all of this is still confusing for me, and besides, you're a child"I can’t have sex with a child,"he commented, now just a step away from her. Hazel sighed, thinking that finding him would make her happy as she had promised her mother."
"I understand; then go ahead, reject me," she said, her gaze dropping. Jonathan looked confused, thinking he had just done that.
""Look, idiot, if you reject my beautiful Venus, I swear I’ll take control, rip your balls off, and shove them down your throat,"Ares growled. Jonathan sighed, not understanding anything"he thought he had already rejected Hazel. "She is our destiny; I woke up only because she arrived, and we must fulfill our duty and at the same time avenge your parents," he added. Jonathan furrowed his brow.
"What did you say?" he asked, and Hazel raised her gaze. "What do you mean avenge my parents?" she asked again.
""I’ll explain it later; now tell my beautiful Venus that you’re not going to reject her. Little by little, you'll understand your true origins,"he replied."
"Give me time, okay? I need to know who I really am," Jonathan said, watching how Hazel’s face lit up.
"Yes, Jonathan," she didn’t hesitate to hug him, which made Jonathan sigh as that intoxicating scent filled his senses.
"You smell delicious," he said without thinking, and Hazel pulled away with a flushed face.
"I love your scent..." she whispered shyly, and Jonathan smiled at her comment.
"Ares wants to know what happened to you?" he asked, not wanting to separate from her, his hands resting on her waist; he liked the closeness.
"I..." Hazel tensed at the mere thought of everything that had happened. Jonathan felt her body tremble; whatever had occurred must have been horrible, and he figured it was best not to press her on it.
"Tranquil, there's no need for you to tell me," he said, stroking her cheek. Hazel smiled; it was the first time she met a man different from those in the Windsor Clan. "But I would like you to tell me more about the wolves... you’ve realized I know nothing about that," she added, nodding. Despite spending eighteen years of her life in the Windsor Clan, she learned about the outside world thanks to an old tablet her mother had gotten for her.
"Of course."
Jonathan realized he hadn’t stepped away from her, so he moved back but felt annoyed not to feel her touch anymore. He led her to the living room where Max settled at Hazel's feet; they were barely acquainted, yet his loyal friend preferred to be with her.
"Where do I start?" Hazel murmured.
Jonathan smiled and listened attentively as Hazel spoke. She told him about beings of different races, not just wolves, but also vampires, witches, sorcerers, elves, fairies—in short, all the species that humans considered mere fantasy, myth, or unreal. She also shared information about the three countries: North, South, and West, leaving out the East. Before he could ask, she recounted a war that broke out many years ago, in which the Eastern country was simply divided among the three others. Everything seemed hard to believe, but he had to accept it, right? After all, he had met her as a beautiful wolf with reddish-violet fur; even her hair had a fantastical color, but it was beautiful.
"You’re a different wolf; your eyes change color," he commented, pulling him from his thoughts. Jonathan raised his eyebrows, confused. "Last night when we met, your eyes were blue, but today they're brown like mine. It means your wolf could also have a different fur color," she continued, her eyes shining. Jonathan stroked her head. Could he really transform into a wolf? "What will your wolf be like?" he murmured.
"I’m a sexy alpha wolf who will take her very hard and deliciously, tell her that," Ares spoke up, and Jonathan refused to say that. "Look, man, we need to make our mate love only us, and what better way than to tell her we’ll take her hard and deliciously," Ares growled.
"You’re insane; she’s a child," Jonathan grumbled, and Hazel looked at him in surprise. "It's just... it's," he said, somewhat embarrassed.
"There's no need for you to respond out loud to your wolf," she commented, understanding those words were directed at Ares.
"Thank goodness; no one would think I’ve gone mad," Jonathan sighed heavily, leaning his elbows on his knees and covering his face with his hands.
Hazel couldn’t help but keep looking at him; he seemed different from the wolves of the Windsor Clan. Of course, he wasn’t one of them. Could she be happy with him? It truly felt like a blessing to have found him right after escaping the clutches of that Alpha of Alphas. She only hoped they wouldn’t continue searching for her. She wanted to fulfill her mother’s promise, to be happy, and perhaps she could achieve that alongside him, her mate.
"It's true; I’ll prepare your room." He stood up, and Hazel looked at him in surprise. "So you can sleep well," he added. She nodded, even though it was normal for them to sleep together."He asked for time, and she needed it too; she wasn’t an expert in sex, and unfortunately, she had witnessed that terrible moment when the men took her mother from her."

Jonathan entered his room after showing Hazel the one she would use. He gave her the one that had been his as a child. He sat on the bed, trying to process everything that was happening; it still felt hard to believe. The scent of Hazel lingered in his room; just smelling it made him want to go to her, to be with her. But no, he had to control himself; she was a child, and girls were out of his limits.
"Maybe I should take her to the building; after all, there's an apartment available," he murmured while he took off his shirt.
"Don’t even think about taking our beautiful Venus away," Ares growled upon hearing what Jonathan was contemplating.
"Damn it, don't scare me like that" Jonathan said, irritated. "Hey, about what you said… about avenging my parents" He whispered, recalling his earlier words.
"You’ll know in due time; for now, keep our Venus close, we need her" He said, now calm.
Jonathan sighed, went into the bathroom to take a shower, and then headed to the cafe. He had administrative matters to attend to; besides, it would help clear his head from everything that had happened.

Hazel was in her new bedroom, which was pretty and spacious. It had a window that overlooked the backyard garden. There was no doubt she had crossed that small line, and now she was with the humans. She had also found her destined partner, which made her heart race. She had to stay next to him; maybe living there with the humans, by his side, was a possibility. She just hoped he would accept her. Jonathan was completely different from the men she had known, from all those miserable ones in the Windsor clan.
"Thank you, Goddess Moon, for this blessing" she whispered, gazing out the window. "Mom, I promise I’ll be happy by his side" she said tenderly, placing both hands on her chest.

Jonathan spent the rest of the day in his cafe office, processing the orders they would need for the following week. He also got a head start on the employees' payroll, wanting to forget what had happened since the previous night. He even lost track of time as he worked extra hours.
Lisa entered the office to inform him that they had closed. She sat down to wait for him to finish; as was customary, she would take him home.
"I’m fed up! I want to be with my beautiful Venus!" Ares shouted suddenly.
"Damn it! Don’t talk nonsense!" he yelled, causing Lisa to look at him, startled. She hadn’t said anything. Jonathan sighed, realizing he had made a mistake. "Ah, sorry, I’ll take you home" he left everything as it was; he would continue tomorrow, stood up, and put on his jacket.
On the way home, Jonathan remained silent, though annoyed because Ares wouldn’t stop telling him how much he wanted to be back with his beautiful Venus, how he missed her scent. His head was pounding; all he wanted was to get home and sleep. He didn’t even feel like making dinner, though maybe he should prepare something for Hazel.
"Are you okay?" Lisa asked, noticing the furrow in his brow; it was rare to see him like that.
"Yeah" he said, stopping in front of Lisa’s house. "See you tomorrow, get some rest" he remarked.
"Wait" she grabbed his arm, something Ares didn’t like.
"Disgusting! She’ll leave her human scent easily imprinted on us" the wolf growled; Jonathan closed his eyes and shook his head at the comment.
"It’s still early; don’t you want to go for a walk?" she asked. Jonathan opened his eyes and sighed. "Come on. Let’s have some fun" she said, placing her hands on her torso.
"I’m tired, Lisa" he pushed her away, making Ares quiet down in his mind. "See you tomorrow" he turned away and walked off, leaving Lisa upset by his rejection.

Jonathan finally arrived home, again entering through the back garden door. He felt the delicious aroma of food; it had been a while since he’d smelled that in his house. He walked to the dining room, which he used very rarely, and saw the table set in a way that felt somewhat familiar to him.
"Good evening" Hazel greeted as she arrived.
"Hi, did you cook?" he asked, looking at her. She was wearing a black apron.
"Yes, I hope it doesn’t bother you" she said nervously, having been bored for most of the time, so she decided to cook for when he arrived. Jonathan nodded and sat down in the main chair.
"Sit down" he told her when he saw she was still standing. Hazel looked at him nervously; she thought he should try the food first, and if he didn’t like it, she would prepare something else"that was how she had been taught." Hazel "he called her."
"First, try it and tell me if you like it; if not, prepare anything else" she commented nervously. Jonathan was left pondering her words and looked at the food she had prepared. Just seeing and smelling it, he could deduce it was delicious.
"Hazel, sit down, everything looks and smells amazing" he remarked. She nodded, taking off her apron. Jonathan couldn't help but let his gaze wander from head to toe; she was wearing one of his t-shirts, though this one was a bit shorter than the last, revealing the beginnings of her strong thighs.
"She looks delicious" said Ares. Jonathan sighed; unfortunately, that wolf was right. How could a girl have such a developed body?
"I'll buy you some clothes tomorrow" he said as he took his plate and began to serve the food. Hazel looked at him in surprise that he would do such a thing. "What's wrong?" he asked, placing the plate in front of her.
"Nothing, it’s just that… you’re different from the wolves I know" she replied, placing her napkin over her lap.
"How are they?" he asked while pouring two glasses of drink.
"A bunch of sorry misfits" she muttered with a hint of hatred, remembering her life in that clan.
"Oh, thank goodness I’m different" he whispered, trying not to take offense at that comment. She took a bite of the food and felt an exquisite flavor on her palate. "It’s delicious! Who taught you to cook?" she asked, looking at him with flushed cheeks.
"My mom" she replied proudly. Jonathan nodded and continued eating; it had been a long time since he had eaten something so homemade and strangely familiar.
After dinner, Jonathan decided to wash the dishes, something that surprised Hazel, who initially resisted allowing him to do so. But in the end, she relented, standing close to the breakfast bar while keeping her eyes on his broad back. She had promised herself not to sniff him, but it was inevitable; she wanted to smell his scent, and that was when she was discouraged by the strong odor of that human girl clinging to him.
"All done. Do you want to watch a movie?" He turned to her and noticed her sad expression. "What’s wrong?" he asked again. She shook her head; she couldn't tell him she felt jealous of the scent of that girl on him.
"Nothing, can I go to bed?" she asked, trying to smile. Jonathan nodded. "Thanks, goodnight" she turned and walked away. That boy couldn't stop watching her retreat; the shirt rode up on her backside, revealing just enough.
"Damn, I need to buy her some clothes" he whispered, unable to take his eyes off that cute backside without underwear as he felt his erection grow in his pants.
