chapter 2

...The Kim Family Dinner...

The chandelier in the Kim family’s dining room cast a golden glow over the long mahogany table, illuminating the delicate china and the simmering tension in the air.

Taetae fidgeted in her seat, her feet barely touching the floor. She was sandwiched between her mother’s disapproving glare and the suffocating heat of Taehyung’s massive frame beside her.

Her father, Kim Joon, cleared his throat as he poured wine. "So, Taetae, how are your studies?"

Before she could answer, Taehyung’s hand landed possessively on her thigh under the table, his fingers kneading the soft flesh through her skirt.

"She’s doing perfect," he answered for her, his voice a deep rumble that made her shiver.

Taetae swallowed hard, her face burning.

Her mother, Haeun, narrowed her eyes. "Taehyung-ah, let your sister speak for herself."

A slow smirk curled his lips as his grip tightened. "Why? I know her better than anyone."

A Touch Too Far

The appetizers were served—delicate seafood salads that Taetae could barely focus on. Not when Taehyung’s thumb was tracing slow circles just inches from the hem of her panties.

She jerked when his fingers dipped under the fabric of her skirt, brushing the sensitive skin of her inner thigh.

"Oppa—" she whispered, her voice shaky.

He leaned in, his lips brushing her ear as if sharing a secret. "Eat, baby. You’re too skinny."

Her mother’s fork clattered against her plate. "Taehyung. Stop that."

Taehyung didn’t even glance up. "Stop what?"

Haeun’s face flushed with anger. "You know exactly what—you’re not a child! This isn’t appropriate!"

Taetae flinched, but Taehyung just tightened his grip, his fingers pressing harder into her skin, daring anyone to challenge him.

Joon sighed, rubbing his temples. "Haeun, leave it. You know how he is with her."

"That’s the problem!" Haeun hissed.

Taehyung chuckled darkly, finally pulling his hand away—only to drape his arm around Taetae’s shoulders, tugging her flush against his side.

"Problem?" He pressed a kiss to her temple, his lips lingering. "I don’t see one."

The Breaking Point

Dessert was served—a rich chocolate cake that Taetae usually loved. But right now, she could barely breathe.

Especially when Taehyung cut a piece and lifted the fork to her lips himself.

"Ah—" he commanded, his voice low.

Her lips parted instinctively, taking the bite as his thumb swiped over her bottom lip, catching a smear of chocolate.

Her younger cousin, Minji, gasped. "Ew, oppa! That’s gross!"

Taehyung’s gaze snapped to her, icy. "Say that again."

Silence.

Even the clinking of spoons stopped.

Taetae’s heart pounded as Taehyung turned back to her, his voice dropping to a lethal whisper.

"You’re mine. They’ll learn that one way or another."

Then—right in front of everyone—he licked the chocolate from his thumb, his eyes locked on hers.

Her mother stood abruptly. "That’s enough."

Aftermath

Later, in the hallway, Taetae tried to slip away to her room—but a large hand wrapped around her wrist, yanking her into the shadows.

Taehyung caged her against the wall, his body pressing into hers. "You embarrassed, baby?"

She shook her head, her breath hitching as his knee nudged between her thighs.

"Good." His lips brushed hers—a near-kiss. "Because I’m just getting started."
