chapter 4

Audrey couldn't sleep that night, her mind racing with thoughts of Lucifer, Cerberus, and the strange spirit being, Celestria, that seemed to be living inside her. She tossed and turned, feeling like her world had been turned upside down.

Just as she was starting to drift off to sleep, she felt a strange sensation in her chest. It was as if her heart was beating in time with something else, something outside of her body. She sat up in bed and looked around the room, wondering if she was losing her mind.

That's when she saw Cerberus, sitting calmly at the foot of her bed. His eyes seemed to be glowing in the dark, and Audrey felt a shiver run down her spine.

"What's going on, Cerberus?" she whispered, feeling a strange sense of calm wash over her.

Cerberus didn't respond, but instead, he stood up and began to pace back and forth across the room. Audrey watched him, feeling a sense of fascination. She had never seen an animal like Cerberus before.

As she watched him, she began to feel a strange connection to the hellhound. It was as if they were linked in some way, their hearts beating in time with each other.

Suddenly, Celestria's voice spoke up inside Audrey's mind. "Audrey, you're starting to understand. The bond between you and Cerberus is strong. It's a bond that can't be broken."

Audrey's eyes widened in surprise. "What do you mean?" she asked aloud.

But Celestria didn't respond. Instead, Audrey felt a strange sensation, like she was being pulled into a vision.

When the vision faded, Audrey found herself standing in a dark, deserted landscape. She looked around, wondering where she was and how she had gotten there.

That's when she saw Lucifer, standing in front of her with a look of concern on his face.

"Audrey, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice low and husky.

Audrey shook her head, feeling confused. "I don't know," she said. "I was just in my bed, and then I was here."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed. "You're experiencing the bond," he said. "The bond between you and me, and between you and Cerberus."

Audrey's eyes widened in surprise. "What bond?" she asked.

But Lucifer just smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You'll learn," he said. "In time, you'll learn."

And with that, everything went black.

Lucifer stood outside Audrey's house, his eyes fixed on the window where he knew she slept. He had left Cerberus to guard her, and he knew that the hellhound would protect her with his life.

As he turned to leave, he felt the familiar tug of Belial's presence in his mind. He sighed, knowing that he had to return to the underworld.

"Belial," he said, his voice low and husky.

"The angels are making their move, Lucifer," Belial's voice was cold and detached, devoid of any emotion. "They claim that Audrey is too pure to be your mate, and they're threatening to take her from you."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with anger. Who did the angels think they were, trying to take his mate away from him?

"I'll take care of it," he said, his voice cold and detached.

"It would be wise to do so, Lucifer," Belial's voice was still cold and emotionless. "We can't afford to lose you to your... feelings."

Lucifer's eyes flashed with anger, but he said nothing. He knew that Belial was right, but he couldn't help the way he felt.

"I'll take care of it," he repeated, and the connection was severed.

Lucifer's eyes flashed with anger as he disappeared into the night, leaving the human world behind. He knew that he had to protect Audrey at all costs, and he was willing to do whatever it took to keep her by his side.

As Lucifer descended into the underworld, he could feel the weight of his responsibilities bearing down on him. He was the king of the underworld, and it was his duty to protect his realm and his people.

But now, he had something more to protect - Audrey, his mate. The thought of her sent a surge of possessiveness through him, and he knew that he would do whatever it took to keep her safe.

As he entered the throne room, he saw Belial waiting for him, his expression as cold and detached as ever.

"The angels are gathering at the border," Belial said, his voice devoid of emotion. "They're demanding that we hand over Audrey, claiming that she's too pure to be your mate."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with anger. "Tell them that I refuse," he said, his voice cold and detached.

Belial nodded, his expression unchanging. "I've already done so, my lord. But I must warn you, the angels are not to be underestimated. They will stop at nothing to get what they want."

Lucifer's eyes flashed with anger, but he knew that Belial was right. He needed to be cautious, to protect Audrey and his realm from the angelic threat.

"I'll take care of it," he said, his voice cold and detached. "See to it that our defenses are ready. We'll show the angels the true meaning of power."

Belial nodded, his expression still unchanging. "Yes, my lord. I'll see to it immediately."

As Belial turned to leave, Lucifer called out to him. "Belial, wait."

Belial turned back, his expression questioning. "Yes, my lord?"

"Tell me more about the angels' plans," Lucifer said, his eyes narrowing. "What do they hope to achieve by taking Audrey?"

Belial's expression was unchanging, but Lucifer could sense a hint of curiosity behind his eyes. "I'm not entirely sure, my lord. But I do know that they're being led by a powerful archangel, one who has a personal stake in seeing you fall."

Lucifer's eyes flashed with anger, but he knew that he had to remain calm, to think strategically. He would not let the angels defeat him, not when he had Audrey to protect.

"I want to know more about this archangel," Lucifer said, his voice low and menacing. "What's his name, and what's his stake in this?"

Belial's expression remained neutral, but Lucifer could sense a hint of unease behind his eyes. "His name is Ariel, my lord. He's a powerful and ruthless archangel, feared by many in the heavenly realm."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. "And what's his stake in this?" he repeated.

Belial hesitated, his expression unchanging. "Ariel has a personal vendetta against you, my lord. He believes that you're a threat to the balance of power in the universe, and he's determined to stop you."

Lucifer's eyes flashed with anger, but he knew that he had to remain calm, to think strategically. He would not let Ariel defeat him, not when he had Audrey to protect.

"I want you to gather all the information you can on Ariel and his plans," Lucifer said, his voice cold and detached. "I want to know everything about him, from his strengths and weaknesses to his motivations and desires."

Belial nodded, his expression unchanging. "Yes, my lord. I'll see to it immediately."

As Belial turned to leave, Lucifer called out to him once more. "Belial, wait."

Belial turned back, his expression questioning. "Yes, my lord?"

"Tell me, Belial," Lucifer said, his voice low and menacing. "Do you think Ariel can be trusted?"

Belial's expression remained neutral, but Lucifer could sense a hint of unease behind his eyes. "I don't think anyone can be trusted, my lord," Belial said finally. "Least of all an archangel with a personal vendetta against you."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that he had to be careful, to protect himself and Audrey from Ariel's plans. He would not let Ariel defeat him, not when he had so much to lose.

As Belial departed to gather information on Ariel, Lucifer couldn't shake off the feeling that he was being watched. He looked around the throne room, his eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of movement.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the darkness. It was Beezle, a high-ranking demon and one of Lucifer's most trusted advisors.

"My lord," Beezle said, his voice low and gravelly. "I've come to warn you about Ariel. He's not to be underestimated."

Lucifer raised an eyebrow. "What do you know about Ariel, Beezle?"

Beezle's eyes gleamed with malevolence. "I know that he's a ruthless and cunning foe. He'll stop at nothing to achieve his goals."

Lucifer's expression turned cold. "I'll take care of Ariel," he said. "But I need you to gather more information about him. Find out what his weaknesses are, and what he's planning."

Beezle bowed his head. "As you wish, my lord."

As Beezle departed, Lucifer couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that Ariel was a powerful foe, and that he would stop at nothing to defeat him.

But Lucifer was not one to back down from a challenge. He was the king of the underworld, and he would do whatever it took to protect his realm and his mate.

A/N:Beezle is beelzebub.

As Beezlebub departed to gather information on Ariel, Lucifer couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that Ariel was a powerful foe, and that he would stop at nothing to defeat him.

Just then, a commotion broke out outside the throne room. Lucifer's guards rushed in, looking frantic.

"What is it?" Lucifer demanded.

"It's Ariel, my lord," one of the guards replied. "He's arrived at the gates of the underworld, and he's demanding to see you."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed. "Tell him I'm busy," he said.

But the guard looked uncertain. "I don't think that's a good idea, my lord," he said. "Ariel is not someone to be trifled with. He's powerful, and he's not afraid to use his power."

Lucifer's expression turned cold. "I'm not afraid of Ariel," he said. "Tell him I'll see him now."

The guard nodded and rushed out of the throne room. Lucifer watched him go, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that Ariel was a formidable foe, but he was determined to protect his realm and his mate.

As he waited for Ariel to arrive, Lucifer couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. He was ready for whatever Ariel had planned, and he was determined to come out on top.

The doors to the throne room burst open, and Ariel strode in. He was tall and imposing, with piercing blue eyes and wings as white as snow.

"Lucifer," Ariel said, his voice dripping with contempt. "I see you're still clinging to your pathetic throne."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed. "Ariel," he said. "I've been expecting you. What do you want?"

Ariel sneered. "I want Audrey," he said. "She's a pure soul, and she doesn't belong in this filthy realm. I'm here to take her back to Heaven where she belongs."

Lucifer's expression turned cold. "You'll never take Audrey from me," he said. "She's mine, and I'll do whatever it takes to protect her."

Ariel's eyes flashed with anger. "We'll see about that," he said.

Ariel sneered at Lucifer. "You think you can protect Audrey from me?" he said. "I am a powerful archangel, and I will not be defeated by a demon like you."

Lucifer's eyes flashed with anger, and he took a step forward. "You dare to challenge me?" he said. "I am the Morning Star, the Bringer of Light, the King of the Underworld. My power is unmatched, and I will not be defeated by a mere archangel like you."

Ariel's eyes narrowed, and he drew his sword. "We'll see about that," he said.

Lucifer smiled, and he snapped his fingers. A sword of flame appeared in his hand, and he charged at Ariel.

The two enemies clashed, their swords flashing in the dim light of the throne room. Lucifer's power was immense, and he fought with a ferocity that Ariel had never seen before.

But Ariel was no pushover, and he fought back with all his might. His sword sliced through the air, striking Lucifer with precision and skill.

Lucifer stumbled back, his eyes narrowing in surprise. Ariel was stronger than he had anticipated, but he was still no match for the King of the Underworld.

With a fierce cry, Lucifer launched himself at Ariel, his sword flashing in the dim light. Ariel tried to defend himself, but Lucifer's power was too great.

Slowly but surely, Lucifer began to gain the upper hand. Ariel stumbled back, his eyes widening in fear.

Lucifer stood victorious, his sword pressed against Ariel's throat.

"You should not have challenged me," Lucifer said, his voice cold and menacing.

Ariel's eyes flashed with defiance, and he spat at Lucifer's feet. "I will never back down," he said. "I will always stand up for what is right."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed, and he raised his sword. But then he hesitated. Something about Ariel's bravery stayed his hand.

"You are a worthy opponent," Lucifer said finally. "I will spare your life... for now."

Ariel's eyes widened in surprise, but he said nothing. Lucifer lowered his sword and stepped back, allowing Ariel to rise to his feet.

"Do not think that this is the end," Lucifer said. "This is only the beginning. You will come at me again, and next time, I will not be so merciful."

Ariel's eyes flashed with anger, but he said nothing. He turned and walked away, leaving Lucifer to wonder what he would do next.

Ariel stormed out of the throne room, his anger and frustration boiling over. He had never been defeated so soundly before, and he couldn't believe that Lucifer had spared his life.

As he walked, Ariel's mind was racing with thoughts of revenge. He would not rest until he had defeated Lucifer and taken Audrey for himself.

Ariel arrived at his chambers, a grand suite of rooms deep within the heavenly realm. He slammed the door shut behind him and began to pace back and forth, his anger and frustration building with every step.

Just as Ariel was about to explode with rage, there was a knock at the door. He spun around, his eyes blazing with anger.

"Enter," he growled.

The door opened, and a tall, imposing figure stepped inside. It was Raphael, another of the archangels.

"Ariel, I see you're back," Raphael said, his voice calm and measured. "I take it your meeting with Lucifer did not go well."

Ariel's eyes flashed with anger. "You have no idea," he spat. "Lucifer is more powerful than I ever could have imagined."

Raphael's expression was thoughtful. "Yes, Lucifer is a formidable foe," he said. "But we cannot give up. We must find a way to defeat him and take Audrey for ourselves."

Ariel's eyes narrowed. "I have a plan," he said, a sly smile spreading across his face.

Raphael's eyes lit up with interest. "Tell me," he said.

Ariel's smile grew wider. "We will use Audrey against Lucifer," he said. "We will manipulate her, use her to get to Lucifer's heart."

Raphael's eyes widened in surprise. "That's genius," he said. "But are you sure it will work?"

Ariel's smile grew even wider. "I'm positive," he said. "Lucifer's weakness is his love for Audrey. We will use that against him, and we will win."

Lucifer couldn't shake off the feeling of unease after his fight with Ariel. He had never felt so vulnerable before, and it made him question his own abilities.

As he walked back to his throne room, he couldn't help but think about Audrey. He knew that Ariel would stop at nothing to take her from him, and it filled him with a sense of insecurity.

He needed to make sure that Audrey was safe, but he also knew that he couldn't be with her all the time. He needed to find a way to keep an eye on her without her knowing.

As he sat on his throne, he called out to one of his most trusted demons, a demon named Azazel.

Azazel appeared before him, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy.

"My lord?" Azazel asked.

"I need you to do something for me," Lucifer said. "I need you to place some spirits in Audrey's house. I want them to keep an eye on her and report back to me."

Azazel nodded. "As you wish, my lord."

Lucifer nodded. "And make sure that Audrey doesn't find out. I don't want her to feel like she's being watched."

Azazel smiled. "Don't worry, my lord. The spirits will be invisible to her."

Lucifer nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He knew that with Azazel and the spirits watching over Audrey, she would be safe.

And he would be able to keep an eye on her, without her knowing.

Azazel nodded and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Lucifer to his thoughts. Lucifer sat on his throne, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that Ariel would not give up easily, and he needed to be prepared for anything.

Meanwhile, Azazel appeared in Audrey's house, his eyes scanning the room for any signs of life. He spotted Audrey sitting on the couch, watching TV, and he nodded to himself.

Azazel raised his hand, and a group of spirits appeared before him. They were small, mischievous creatures, with eyes that glowed like embers.

"Watch over her," Azazel said, his voice low and commanding. "Report back to me if you see anything suspicious."

The spirits nodded and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Azazel to watch over Audrey from afar.

As the night wore on, Lucifer sat on his throne, his mind racing with thoughts of Audrey and Ariel. He knew that he had to be careful, that he had to protect Audrey at all costs.

And then, just as he was starting to relax, he heard a faint whispering in his ear. It was one of the spirits, reporting back to him.

"My lord," the spirit said, its voice barely audible. "Ariel has been seen lurking around Audrey's house. He's trying to get to her, my lord."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with anger. He knew that he had to act fast, to protect Audrey from Ariel's clutches.

"I'll take care of it," Lucifer said, his voice cold and menacing.

The spirit nodded and disappeared, leaving Lucifer to his thoughts. He knew that he had to be careful, that he had to protect Audrey at all costs.

And he was willing to do whatever it took to keep her safe.

Lucifer's eyes flashed with anger as he thought about Ariel's attempt to get to Audrey. He knew that he had to act fast, to protect Audrey from Ariel's clutches.

He raised his hand, and a dark portal opened up before him. He stepped through the portal, and found himself standing outside Audrey's house.

He looked around, his eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of Ariel. And then, he saw him - Ariel was hiding behind a tree, his eyes fixed on Audrey's house.

Lucifer's eyes narrowed, and he took a step forward. Ariel looked up, and their eyes met.

"You're not welcome here," Lucifer said, his voice cold and menacing.

Ariel sneered. "I'm not afraid of you," he said. "I'll do whatever it takes to protect Audrey from your evil clutches."

Lucifer's eyes flashed with anger. "You'll never take her from me," he said. "She's mine, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe."

Ariel's eyes narrowed, and he took a step forward. Lucifer could see the anger burning in his eyes, and he knew that Ariel was not going to back down.

But Lucifer was not afraid. He knew that he was the more powerful of the two, and he was confident that he could defeat Ariel in a fight.

The two of them stood there, their eyes locked in a fierce stare. The air was electric with tension, and Lucifer could feel the power building up inside him.

And then, just as it seemed like the fight was about to begin, Lucifer felt a presence behind him. He turned to see Audrey standing there, a look of concern on her face.

"Lucifer, what's going on?" she asked.

Lucifer's eyes narrowed, and he turned back to Ariel. "This doesn't concern you," he said. "Go back inside, Audrey."

But Audrey didn't move. She stood there, her eyes fixed on Ariel. And Lucifer could see the fear burning in her eyes.

"Who are you, what are you doing here?" she asked.

Ariel's eyes locked onto Audrey's, and Lucifer could see the desire burning in his eyes. "I've come for you, Audrey," he said. "I've come to take you away from this monster."

Audrey's eyes widened in fear, and Lucifer could feel his anger building up inside him. He knew that he had to protect Audrey, no matter what it took.

And so, he took a step forward, his eyes locked onto Ariel's. "You'll never take her away from me, she's mine and I'll do whatever it is to protect her
