[Scene: Rupsa’s House – Night]

Rupsa sits quietly on the bed. Her mother, after taking her medicine, looks at her before falling asleep.

Mother (softly):

“Rupsa, you’ve seemed so worried lately… is there something you want to tell me?”

Rupsa gives a faint smile and sits beside her. There’s a hidden ache in her voice.

Rupsa (after a pause):

“Ma… I’ve made a decision. I’m going to get married.”

Mother (startled):

“Married?! All of a sudden? Who is the boy?”

Rupsa lowers her eyes. Her throat tightens, but she gathers herself and speaks firmly.

Rupsa:

“My boss… Hriday Roy. I love him, Ma.”

Her mother is stunned. She stays silent for a moment, then slowly smiles.

Mother (gently smiling):

“You love him? Then you have my blessing. I never stand in the way of love.”

Tears pool in Rupsa’s eyes. She rests her head on her mother’s shoulder.

Rupsa (whispering):

“If you’re okay, Ma… I can handle anything.”

Mother (stroking her hair):

“I have faith in you, my child… everything will be alright.”

Rupsa (thinking silently):

“Ma… you don’t know the truth. This love is a lie. But for your sake… this lie is now my truth.”

[Scene: Morning – Inside Rupsa’s Room]

Rupsa is making breakfast for her mother when her phone rings. On the screen, the name flashes — Shiv Sir.

Rupsa (startled):

“This early? Why is he calling now?”

She hesitates, then answers the call.

Rupsa:

“Hello?”

Shiv (in a brisk tone):

“Good morning, Rupsa. Boss wants you at the office early today. Come to the accounts section—by 9 AM. For signing the contract.”

Rupsa (serious):

“Today?”

Shiv (slightly annoyed):

“Yes, today. Hriday Sir’s time is expensive. And you did agree, didn’t you?”

Rupsa (calmly):

“Alright. I’ll be there.”

Shiv:

“And Rupsa… be prepared. This is no longer a joke.”

Rupsa:

“I know.”

[Scene: Morning – Rupsa’s Room]

Rupsa stands in front of the mirror. She’s wearing a soft pink saree, very minimal makeup. A touch of lip balm, a thin line of kajal.

Rupsa (thinking):

“Just one signature today… but that one signature will change my entire life.”

She picks up her old handbag from the wardrobe. Then quietly walks into her mother’s room and stares for a moment.

Rupsa (thinking):

“Ma, everything I’m doing… it’s for you. I just want you to be okay.”

She quietly leaves the room.

[Scene: Office Building – 8:55 AM]

Rupsa enters through the main door. Rina, sitting at reception, looks up, surprised.

Rina (smiling):

“Here so early? What’s the matter?”

Rupsa (smiling softly):

“Just an urgent meeting.”

Rupsa looks up and sees Shiv waiting near the elevator.

Shiv (in a serious tone):

“Come. Boss is waiting for you.”

Scene: Inside the Car – Rupsa & Ridhay

The car is quiet and comfortable, but the atmosphere is heavy. Rupsa is looking out the window. After a moment, she turns her head and softly asks:

Rupsa (softly):

"Where are we going?"

Ridhay (without looking at her, in a calm voice):

"To my family house."

Rupsa (frowning slightly):

"You mean your grandfather… does he live there?"

Ridhay (with a faint smile):

"No. Dadu stays in the village most of the time. This house is our city residence, not the permanent one."

Rupsa (a little relieved but curious):

"Then who’s there now?"

Ridhay:

"My elder uncle and his family live there. I visit occasionally… and today, I’m taking you there for the first time because… my family needs to know I’m married."

Rupsa (silent for a moment, then softly):

"Do they know this is just a contract?"

Ridhay (in a deep tone):

"They don’t need to know. As long as you’re here, you are my wife. How you act will determine the success of this deal."

Rupsa (biting her lip slightly):

"Alright. I’ll act. Just make sure my mother’s treatment continues."

Ridhay (looking at her briefly, then slowly):

"Her treatment has already begun. From now on, your only role is to be the ‘daughter-in-law’ of this family."

Scene: Outside the Family Mansion – Main Gate

The car stops at the gate. The security guard glances up and suddenly looks shocked.

Guard (eyes widening):

"That’s... Sir Ridhay’s car?! He hasn’t come here in ages…"

He quickly walks to open the gate. A servant inside hears the bell and rushes to the main door.

As the door opens, his jaw nearly drops.

Servant (in shock, voice trembling):

"Sir?! You… You got married?!"

Ridhay is standing at the door, beside him is a beautiful woman—dressed in a saree, with a veil over her head, a red bindi on her forehead… and vermilion in her hair parting.

Ridhay (in a calm, serious tone):

"Yes. This is Rupsa. My wife."

Servant (taking a step back, stunned):

"I… I can’t believe it, sir… I never imagined seeing you like this…"

Rupsa (bowing politely):

"Namaste."

Ridhay:

"Dadu isn’t here. We’ll go upstairs. No need to inform the others right now."

Servant (nodding quickly):

"Yes, sir! I’ll make the arrangements immediately."

Rupsa and Ridhay step inside together. The servant discreetly picks up his phone and begins whispering to someone.
