Now that,that's out of the way...

“How was your night?”,said Alex as he sat down beside me. “Couldn't have been better”,I replied looking up from my book. “So what do you think? ”,he asked. “About? ”,I replied confused. “Your mother in law, you met her yesterday. Remember? ”, he said teasingly with a chuckle. I rolled my eyes. “Now,don't you roll your eyes at me. I told her about you and she likes you as well.”,he continued. “Has the teasing gotten to your head or something? You know the class was joking when they called us a couple right?”,I answered hurriedly. Alex looked somewhat angry as he stared at me with disbelief and fury in his eyes. “So,am I the only one having these feelings? ”,he said bitterly. “Ugh! Brother please,chill. You're just 9,what do you know about love? Watch less dramas and stop being so dramatic ”, I answered as our class teacher walked in.

I don't know if I had struck a nerve or something but Alex refused to talk to me for the rest of the day and when school closed,he just left without saying a word to me. Well,it was not like I cared at that time anyway. At that time,all I could see was an overdramatic cry baby who was being weird as hell. I paid no attention and just went home. I was happy since it was Friday,making the next day a weekend. Finally,I didn't have to see my weird over feeling sitting partner.

Well,the weekend run by fast and classes resumed again. Ugh! That tiring cycle I dreaded so much. Alex was still not talking to me and I was just about fed up with his silent treatment. “What's wrong with you ”,I questioned him since I couldn't take it anymore. He shrugged his shoulders then put his head on the table completely ignoring me.

I was outraged. “I mean who does he think he is to ignore me? This little self centered brat”,I thought to myself as I glared at him. “You want to play the silence game,huh. Then I'll accompany you in playing this game”,I said to him softly under my breathe so that the rest of the class couldn't catch our conversation.

I was angry and this time, I wanted him to break the ice first since I failed to do so. I was going to join in his sick and twisted silent treatment game as well. And this time,I wasn't going to let him off easily!

Well,the hours went by to become days then it was exactly a week since Alex and I spoke to each other. Now the next day was a weekend and I was basically used to the fact that Alex and I were back to being strangers now. Little did I know what he had been planning throughout the week of silent treatment.

“Hah! School is finally over. Cheers to the freaking weekend ”,I said to myself as I packed my things to leave. “And here I was thinking you were going to continue trying, such a coward”,Alex said as he stared at me with a smirk on his face as he stared at me. I looked behind me then around me thinking he was speaking to someone else. He reached out then grabbed my face with both hands and said,“Stop looking around, I was referring to you”. I was speechless and just stared back without uttering a word. “What was he thinking? After not talking to me for a whole week,he finally pulls this stunt? What did he want?”,I thought to myself while staring blankly back at him. “Don't worry I don't want anything. See you on Monday hun. Just don't be a stranger ”,he said as he let go of my face,grabbed his bag to leave and then turned around as he reached the gate just to wink at me before leaving. ”What?!”, I exclaimed as I finally came back to my senses after digesting everything that had just happened.
