The morning was beautiful. The sky was aglow, reflecting its light onto the dewy grass of the lawn.
Inside, a beautiful blond lay sleeping peacefully on his stomach, surrounded by a pile of cushions. His face was adorned with a pout.
“Mmm… please give me those strawberries, Ggukk,” he murmured in his sleep.
Taehyungie had this adorable habit of talking in his sleep.
“Argh, you bad bunny,” he said again, hugging his cushion tightly.
Author POV:
He has a date today, and he’s dreaming right now. Taehyungie, do you want me to go with Ggukk instead of you, huh? 😉😂
“Aniya, I’m up! You’re such a tease,” the blond said, pouting and glaring cutely.
Author Note:
Aww, I love you too, baby. Now get up—you have a date. 😉
Looking at the wall clock, Taehyung exclaimed, “I’m going to be late. Oh no!”
He stretched his body and got up from the bed, walking to the window to get some fresh air. Standing there, he basked in the sunlight, as if nature itself was saying, Good morning, Bear.
He smiled and turned his head toward the bed. The candles were still lit, as Taehyung didn’t like sleeping in the dark. Scented candles surrounded him, their soft glow reflecting off the purple dreamcatcher hanging above his bed, adorned with fairy lights and sprigs of lavender. Cushions and blankets were scattered everywhere.
Author Note:
Well, personally, purple is my favorite color, and this could totally be my future bedroom. 😍
Nevertheless, this room screams Taehyung—warm and cozy. 💓
Taehyung sighed, “I’m such a mess,” and began setting his bed. Once done, he headed to the bathroom.
The bathroom door opened thirty minutes later. Taehyung emerged in a sweatshirt and shorts, a towel draped around his neck. He walked to the closet, picked out fresh clothes, and started getting dressed. Standing in front of the mirror, he checked himself thoroughly.
“Hermosa,” he said, posing in front of the mirror.
Author Note:
It’s me, actually. Whenever I get ready, I praise myself. 😂
Satisfied, he headed downstairs to the kitchen. He spotted a woman with auburn hair cooking something. Tiptoeing toward her, he gave her a back hug.
“Good morning, Mrs. Kim. What are you making today?” Taehyung asked, resting his chin on her shoulder.
She turned off the stove, glanced at him, and said, “Yaah, Kim Taehyung, don’t you think you should call me Mom? Huh, what am I to you?”
“You are my besttttttttt friendddddddddddd,” the blond chimed, grinning.
Author Note:
So, everyone, meet Mrs. Kim—Kim Hye-Sun, Taehyung’s mother.
Seeing her son, she laughed loudly and hugged him. “My baby bear, good morning.” She pecked his cheek. “Did you sleep well?”
“Yes, Eomma, I did,” Taehyung replied with a smile.
“Great. Go to the dining room; I’ll bring breakfast,” she said.
Being the obedient child he was, Taehyung sat at the table.
“Where’s Appa?” he called out loudly.
“The old man is at the office. He had an important meeting today,” Hye-Sun replied as she set the table with food and sat beside Taehyung.
“Woahhh, Eomma, you’re the best,” Taehyung said, giving her a thumbs up before diving into his favorite japchae. “Mmm, Eomma, it’s delicious! I love you!” he exclaimed with a happy face.
“Huh, I was ‘Mrs. Kim’ a moment ago,” Hye-Sun teased, chuckling. “Slow down, baby; no one’s going to take it away. I made plenty.”
“Ani, I have a prior meeting in an hour,” Taehyung said, his mouth full of japchae.
“Oh? And what meeting is that? You don’t have any classes today, right?” Hye-Sun asked gently, handing him a glass of strawberry shake.
“Yup, no classes today. It’s just that Ggukk wants to take me out since, you know, I’m leaving soon,” Taehyung replied.
“Oh, that Jeon boy! I haven’t seen him in a week. Tell him if he doesn’t come to see me today, I’m not making him spicy chicken ever again,” Hye-Sun said, pretending to be angry.
Taehyung smiled. “Yes, I’ll tell him. Thank you for cherishing him so much, Mom.”
“He’s a sweetheart. Of course, I cherish him like my own child. I just wish I could make him my son-in-law,” Hye-Sun said, winking at Taehyung.
The blond blushed furiously at her comment.
Author Note:
Mannnn, main laddoo phutaa 🤣
“We—we’re best friends, Eomma. Nothing else,” Taehyung stammered, gulping down his shake.
“I’m your mother, Bear. I can see through you. Just letting you know, my blessings are always with you,” she said gently, holding his hand. “Not now, but he’ll be my son-in-law one day. Mark my words.”
Taehyung coughed violently, and Hye-Sun quickly rubbed his back. “Calm down, Bear.”
Looking for an excuse, Taehyung got up and said, “I’ll check on my plants,” before stumbling out of the dining room.
Blushing at the thought of Jeonggukk being part of the Kim family, Taehyung tried to shake off his feelings. He didn’t want to ruin their friendship and wasn’t sure how Jeonggukk would react. He headed to the gallery to tend to his flowers.
“How are you, beautiful?” he asked, watering the plants. “Drink up, baby. You need to stay healthy.”
Meanwhile, Hye-Sun sat in the living room with tea. Just as she was about to relax, the doorbell rang. Remembering Jeonggukk was coming, she went to answer it.
Jeonggukk POV:
I was nervous. It had been a week since I last visited Mrs. Kim, and I knew she’d be upset. So, I brought flowers to soften her mood.
When she opened the door, her expression was stern.
“Yes? How may I help you?” she asked, feigning seriousness.
“Ahh, m-m…” I stuttered nervously, then looked down at the flowers for courage.
“Beautiful flowers for a beautiful lady,” I finally managed with a sweet smile.
Author Note:
Haye, mein mar jawaa gurrr kha ke!
Her expression softened instantly. She accepted the flowers, hugged me, and pecked my head.
“Thank you, my handsome son. Welcome home. I was upset, but you’re forgiven because of these flowers. But don’t avoid me again, or no spicy chicken for you!”
I nodded quickly. “I won’t, Mrs Kim. I promise.”
“Come in, handsome; don’t just stand there,” she said warmly.
I stepped inside and sat on the sofa.
“I’ve made japchae. Would you like some before you go?” she asked lovingly.
“No, Mrs Kim, I had breakfast with Hyung an hour ago,” I replied.
“Tsk tsk. How many times do I have to tell you to call me Mom? Do I look like a stranger to you?” she teased, pretending to be disappointed.
“I’m sorry, M- Mom,” I said softly.
“Aww, that’s my baby! Always call me Mom, okay?” she said, hugging me warmly.
Just then, Taehyung came downstairs. “What’s going on?” he asked curiously.
Rushing over, he spotted the flowers. “Woah, these are beautiful,” he said, smiling.
“Ikr? They’re perfect for Mrs. K—” I stopped mid-sentence, catching Hye-Sun’s glare.
“I mean, Mom. Perfect for Mom,” I gulped.
“Hmph, that’s better,” she said smugly.
“Hahaha! Oh God, Eomma, you look scary,” Taehyung said, laughing.
I quickly changed the topic. “Bear, we’re getting late.”
“Oh yes, I totally forgot. Alright, Eomma, take care! I’ll be back in the evening. Love you!” Taehyung hugged her.
I did the same before we left. The bike was ready, and I started it as we headed toward our destination.
