The dream began in silence.
Aria stood in a silver field, barefoot on grass that shimmered like starlight. The sky above was a swirling ocean of moons — not one, but three — each glowing with a different hue: ivory, violet, and pale gold.
A soft wind brushed her curls back, and she turned.
There, in the distance, a woman stood—tall, regal, cloaked in flowing moonlight. Her hair was woven from stardust, and her eyes held the entire cosmos.
“My daughter,” the woman spoke, her voice like music wrapped in thunder. “You’ve awakened.”
Aria fell to her knees. “Who are you?”
The woman stepped closer, her bare feet never touching the ground. “I am Selene. Creator of the wolves. Guardian of the celestial realm. And your mother.”
Aria’s breath caught. “This can’t be real…”
Selene knelt in front of her. “It is. And you must listen. You were hidden for a reason.”
Aria’s pulse raced. “Kael told me you left me with humans. Why?”
“Because the one who hunts you now is not of this world,” Selene said, her face darkening. “Auron seeks to corrupt the moon’s blood. Your blood.”
“Auron,” Aria whispered. “Kael’s brother?”
Selene nodded. “He was once one of my chosen. A wolf born of fire and fury. But he rebelled, twisted by his thirst for power. He seeks to take you and use your womb to create a new bloodline — not of wolves, but of monsters.”
Aria shuddered.
Selene placed her hand over Aria’s chest.
A glowing sigil appeared over her heart — a swirling moon spiral wrapped in runes that pulsed with divine light.
“This is the Mark of the Goddess. It will protect you — but only if you accept who you are.”
Aria’s lips trembled. “I don’t know how to be a goddess…”
“You don’t need to be one yet,” Selene said. “You need to survive. And Kael — he is the only one who can protect you while you rise.”
The dream began to fade, her mother’s voice becoming an echo.
“You are the beginning and the end, Aria. The birth of peace or the destruction of all wolves. Choose wisely.”
Aria woke with a gasp.
Kael was immediately at her side, shirtless and growling low, eyes flickering gold. “What happened? You cried out.”
“I… I saw her,” Aria whispered. “Selene. She came to me in a dream.”
Kael’s face shifted. “She marked you?”
Aria nodded, pulling down the blanket. The sigil was there — glowing softly against her chest.
Kael touched it, reverently. “You carry the Moon’s power now. The prophecy is beginning.”
She looked up at him, heart pounding. “She said Auron is coming. That he wants me… for my blood.”
Kael’s voice dropped to a snarl. “He’ll have to go through me first.”
Elsewhere… in the Shadowlands
Auron stood before a circle of broken stone wolves, his silver armor drenched in black ichor. Around him, the shadows whispered.
“She has awakened,” hissed a cloaked figure beside him.
Auron’s grin was sharp. “So the goddess has finally unsealed her daughter.”
He turned, crimson eyes glowing. “And she’s mating with my brother…”
The shadows stirred. “Shall we strike now?”
“No,” Auron said coldly. “Let her bond. Let her believe she’s safe. And when her belly is full with Kael’s heir…”
He smiled.
“Then I will tear the child from her womb and remake the world in my image.”
