Chapter 5

The day ended with me just driving Stefano around. His meetings, lunch, dinners, to his house... meetings. God, this guy is so boring. What he always does is business. I'm always at the car waiting for him and sometimes I stroll around the city until I'm called. Carson keeps me up to date with his schedules so I'd know when I'm needed. Though the guy gets on my nerves, I appreciate what he does. I would have the time to do other things. I wouldn't just sit in the car all day like what happened the first day.

"Here." Carson tossed me some clothing and a box.

"What's this?" I asked while unfolding it.

"Your uniform. Wear it everyday. Go change. There's a bathroom straight after the living room. Just turn right." I followed what he said and changed. I looked at the mirror and surprised to see the uniform fits me quite perfectly. Well, some place is quite tight. I eyed my boobs. This is like a business suit just without a tie. I opened the box. Oh, heels. Surprise, suprise. Great, just great. I groaned. I haven't worn this since high school. I'm glad this is just 2 inches. I'm already used to combat boots. I don't know if I can handle really high heels.

I walked outside the mansion and saw the two waiting for me beside the car. Stefano was leaning on his car crossed arms while Carson was standing like a good little boy waiting for his parents to arrive. They looked up when they noticed me coming down the stairs. When I glanced the second time, they still kept looking at me. I frowned. Aren't they ashamed of staring at me like that? They're not even looking at my eyes. They're looking at my... I rolled my eyes as I reached down in front of them. Stefano finally looked into my eyes.

"Oh no. Please continue. It's not really obvious that you both are staring." I said sarcastically. I shifted my eyes to Carson. He looked away and coughed awkwardly. Oh, I know exactly where they kept staring. That's where the tightest spot is.

"You're slow." Stefano pulled away from the car.

"I was changing." I scoffed. He glared at me. "Let's go." He got in his car. I smiled at Carson.

"Enjoyed the show, babe?" I winked at him as I walked to the driver's seat. He rolled his eyes. I laughed.

"There's a party tonight at Sky Hotel. It's a charity event hold by the Hamiltons. You need to be there. You are one of the VIPs. " Carson reminded Stefano. He nodded.

When we reached the building, Carson gave me  Stefano's schedules today before leaving the car. Apparently, he has nothing planned out today except for the charity event. I parked the car and went to stroll somewhere in the city until it's time to pick him up again.

It's been over a week now. I got used to the city in no time. The fact that I've been scolded a lot by the two of them having no knowledge of directions to the places where we go and the constant strolling made me familiarise the city.

Carson seems to stop going to Nancy's apartment building. I haven't heard anything from them ever since I punched Stefano's useless bodyguard. I don't know. Probably because I was always with them. But if they try to do funny business again, I won't hesitate to break Carson's arm next time.

I stopped at a cafe where I used to hang out while waiting. I've been drinking coffee twice a day and I swear I almost tasted every damn coffee here.

"Here you go." Jenna, the waitress, placed a chocolate chip frappe on the table. She smiled at me.

I raised my eyebrow questioningly. "I didn't order this."

"It's on the house. You're here everyday and you seemed to be undecided on what to order again." She chuckled.

"Thanks..." I looked at the name tag at her chest. "... Jenna." She nodded. I offered my hand to her. "Avery. Avery White." She shook my hand.

"Nice to always meet you everyday." She chuckled. I laughed. "Yeah."

"Are you a businesswoman?" She asked.

"No. No. No." I shook my head a couple of times. "I'm actually just a driver." She frowned. "I never met a female a driver before."

"Now you do." She laughed. "Who do you drive for? I mean who's your boss?"

"Ranallo. Stefano Ranallo." Suddenly her eyes widened.

"No way... No effing way!" I frowned in confusion. "That guy is like the most powerful man in New York! Probably the whole world. He's so handsome, too! I can't believe you're working for him!" She exclaimed.

"Is that so?" I said calmly. No wonder he's full of arrogance. The guy's fucking famous.

"Why are you so calm like that? Are you not excited to work for him? Is he bad? You know you're so lucky to be able to work for him. Everyone wants to work for him. He brings good name you know. " She said in multiple emotions showing in her face.

"Well... he is..." He is the reason why my parents don't trust me now. Well, they never trusted me anyway. "He's-" I was cut off when Jenna was called by her workmate.

"I have to go. I'll see you again." She waved with a huge smile on her face and left.

"Lucky, huh?" I rested my chin on my palm as I looked at the people passing by outside.

I picked him up when it's time for him to leave. Carson took care of the rest of the things left at the office. I'm sure a man like Stefano who's rich and powerful doesn't easily trust anyone. But he trusts Carson so much. That I could see. The two are close but you have to be very observant to notice it. Well, I have all the time in the world to observe. Watching people all day has become one of my pastimes. It's a bit creepy. I know.  You get it when you're always alone.

"Where to? Your apartment? Your family's?" I asked. This guy has two homes. He usually goes home to his apartment.

"To my parent's." He answered.

"To the mansion it is."

As soon as we arrived, her mother greeted him with a huge smile plastered on her face. "Blake! I'm so happy you're here." I went out of the car to greet her.

"I just came here to get something but I'll leave as soon as I change. I need to go to a charity event." She pouted. "Not again."

"Don't worry. I'm going home here as soon as I'm done with the event." Her mom's face lights up. Stefano kisses her cheek and gets inside.

"Hello, Angela. It's nice to see you back from France." I greeted.

"Oh, my. Hello, Avery. I haven't seen your pretty face for a while. Come inside while Blake is getting ready." She beckoned sweetly. I followed her. "You must be hungry. I'll prepare something for you." She walked towards the kitchen.

"I'll go with you."

"Why do you call Stefano as Blake?" I asked while pouring orange juice in my glass.

"It's his second name. When Blake was just born, Marco and I argued what to name our baby. My husband insisted on the name  Stefano. He wanted his name to associated with his Italian blood. And I was insistent on naming him Blake. I have alqays loved the name since I was a teenager. So we settled on giving him two names. Honestly, I like Blake better but so as Marco thinking Stefano is better. " Angela rolled her eyes. I chuckled.

"So Stefano is half. That makes sense his name's half half." I joked while laughing. "But you're the only one who calls him Blake."

"I know. He's my big boy." Angela said proudly. I laughed.

"Mother, what are you telling that woman?" He glared at me.

"Hello there, big boy." I smirked teasingly.

"Didn't I tell you I don't tolerate-"

"Blake, please send my regards to the Hamiltons." Angela cut her off.

He nodded. "You're not going?"

"You know I don't like going to parties without your father."

"Of course." He kisses his mom's cheeks. "Let's go, White."

"Thank you for the food, Angela." I smiled.

"You're welcome, my pretty girl." She winks at me. I chuckled.
