Episode 5

Martin carried Esmeralda in his arms and took her to the living room. She continued to feign intense pain in her ankle.

"Don't worry, my love. I'll ease that pain soon." Martin caressed Esmeralda's cheek with so much love that it made me burn with jealousy.

I had to control my fury, otherwise, Martin would realize what's between Esmeralda and me.

"I need you to get some ice and something to take away the pain."

Esmeralda began to cry, perhaps because of the guilt she feels for having slept with me.

However, I don't regret having slept with her.

Just imagining her in another man's arms makes my blood boil. Like a poison that spreads throughout my body.

My hand is placed behind her neck and my lips brush against hers. Esmeralda responds to my kiss with the same desire.

"What will happen to her?" She asked me through tears.

"She'll find out sooner or later. I won't marry a woman I don't love."

"You'd really leave her for me?" Esmeralda lowered her gaze in shame.

"Yes, I love you too much."

"I love you more." Esmeralda murmured.

"Let's not let them separate us."

I kissed her lips again and although the kiss lasted very little it was incredible. Esmeralda gets up from the sofa, and says to me.

"I'll wait for you in your car. Finish with her once and for all."

She walked away from me and I handed her the car keys.

She hurried out of the Armendariz mansion. I looked up, it was Esmeralda or Lilit, and in my mind I had already chosen.

I sighed and went upstairs. Until I reached Lilit's room. I didn't even knock on the door, I just pushed it open and entered.

Entering and seeing her dressed as a bride, caused a hole in my chest. I felt a lump in my throat.

For a moment I wanted to stay silent, and not say anything to her. She looked beautiful, like a princess, I looked down, I clenched my fists.

"My love, get out of the room. You can't see the bride before arriving at the church. It's very bad luck." Lilit said.

Without saying anything, I walked to her. I scanned her body with my eyes and although I felt a lot of affection for her, I would prefer to end all this once and for all.

It was better to cut off this relationship once and for all.

"I'm sorry, Lilit. There will be no wedding."

"What?" Lilit thought she had misheard.

Her face changed, all smiles disappeared from her lips.

"There will be no wedding. No, I won't marry you."

"Is this a joke?" Lilit's eyes welled up with tears.

"Rogelio, this isn't the time for that." She tells me holding back the urge to cry.

She raises her hand and slaps me.

"I waited for this day with anticipation!"

"Why did you wait until today to tell me you don't love me?"

Another slap fell on my face. I know I deserve it for not having clarified my feelings before.

"I wasn't sure how I felt about you." Another slap falls on my face.

"You weren't sure?! What a load of crap!"

"I love another woman and for you I only feel affection. A different affection than what I feel for her."

Two more slaps fell on my cheeks.

"I hate you!"

"Get out of here!"

"I don't want to see you again ever!"

Lilit tearfully pointed to the door of her room. I turned around and left the room without looking back at her.

I went downstairs and out of the mansion, got into my car, where Esmeralda was already waiting for me.

Rogelio left the room, at that moment my world crumbled. I never imagined that the most important day of my life would end like this.

I fell to my knees, feeling a sharp pain in my chest. Still every word he said resonates in my mind.

"I don't love you... I love another woman. For you I only feel affection."

They were poisoned swords that pierced my chest without mercy. The wounds they caused me are mortal.

My tears fell uncontrollably from my eyes, the air escaped from my lungs. It was hard for me to breathe, it was a damn fortune.

"Why?!!!"

"Why?!"

I let out two loud screams from the depths of my soul. I cried so much that for a moment I thought I would lose my child.

Martin entered the room, approached me and hugged me. My arms are placed tightly on his body and my tears wet his chest.

Martin says nothing, it seems he knows what's happening to me. He kisses me on the hair and tries to get me to stand up.

"Lilit, come on, you need to be strong."

I shook my head, at that moment, I just wanted to die. The pain I felt was so great that I just wanted to close my eyes and never open them again.

"Why me?" He said he loved me with all his might.
