The Man I Met In a Dream
The forest was impossibly quiet. Sunlight filtered softly through the trees, painting everything in a warm golden glow. In the middle of a small clearing stood a man—tall, dressed in a black blazer, white shirt, and black pants. His face was blurred, but I somehow knew he was handsome. Next to him stood a woman in a shimmering dress.
They were supposed to marry. But she didn’t love him—she loved what he had. Her eyes were sharp, cold. She was a gold digger, and she didn’t hide it.
He didn’t look at her.
He looked at me.
The moment our eyes met, something inside me shifted. He didn’t smile. He didn’t speak. But I felt… chosen. Known.
Later, I found myself in his home, hidden deep within the forest. It was grand but peaceful. There was a temple inside, small and sacred, where he brought roses every day. But when I went in, there were no flowers. Just quiet air and the lingering warmth of devotion.
Still, I kept coming. In the afternoons, I’d visit. Sometimes I stayed the night. We’d lie side by side on his bed—fully clothed, no words, no touch. Just presence. Just comfort. I don’t know if we were lovers. I only knew that I was safe.
One day, we were in his car, headed to someone’s house—Isaac, maybe. There was a feast, full of laughter, food, and people. But something in the air felt strange. I stepped outside.
That’s when I saw them.
Creatures—strange, silent, hiding in the water, the trees, the shadows. They watched. They didn’t attack, but they didn’t feel right. I turned to find him, but he was gone.
I found him far away, high up in a tree, like he was trying to fall. I panicked. Climbed something beside it and reached out. “Come down!” I screamed. “Please!”
But his name—I didn’t know it.
Still, I shouted, again and again. I begged him to come back. My chest ached. My throat burned. He didn’t move.
Then suddenly—
I woke up.
My mom’s voice brought me back to reality. But the dream didn’t fade. Not really. His presence lingered in the corners of my memory, like a song I once knew by heart.
I never saw his face. I never learned his name.
But I remember how I felt with him. Like peace. Like belonging.
So if you’re out there—if you ever see this someday, somehow—
I think we’ve already met.
Just not in this world yet.
