chapter 5: the weapon / Grissom

Grissom woke up and couldn't see anything he was sitting up and there seemed to be a cloth bag over his head, suddenly the bag was pulled off, he seemed to be in some sort of military facility chained to a chair that was bolted to the cement ground. Grissom glanced to his right Aspen was tied to the chair instead of chained as Grissom wondered why this was he felt something cold press against the side of his head, he looked forward at the gun that was against his forehead held by some sort of seargent or general "wheres the weapon" the general asked "I don't know what your talking about" Grissom replied while studying the many guards behind the man "where is the weapon" the general asked again hitting Grissom with the gun Grissom didn't answer "fine" the general said "maybe your little girlfriend will be more cooperative" he pulled the cloth bag from over Aspens head, Grissom could feel his rage grow, the general pointed the gun at her and began to speak "where is th-" The general didn't have time to finish the second he pointed the gun at Aspen Grissom broke his chains and took the gun from the general shooting all the guards behind him and kicking him to the ground the general had succeeded in shooting Grissom in his left arm but he didn't feel it he left the general laying on the ground in pain as he untied Aspens ropes."are you ok" Grissom asked Aspen didn't say anything he grabbed her hand shot the general and put the gun in his belt he picked up a gas can pouring it throughout the facility as they left he shot the facility and returned the gun to his belt watching it go up in flames. Grissom brought Aspen to a hill with a single tree on top he asked again "are you ok" Aspen said nothing she just grabbed ahold of his cheeks and kissed him Grissom kissed back Aspen could taste blood on his lips, she loveed the taste of blood, they continued kissing under the tree as they slowly got closer to the ground, eventually Aspen was on top of Grissom who was laying on the ground they finally stopped Grissom hiding his bullet wound was the first to speak "was that a yes?" he asked Aspen smiled "no duh hoodie boy" she said "hoodie boy I like that Grissom replied "how about we try getting some sleep" Aspen had already fallen asleep on Grissoms chest he ran his fingers through her hair and fell asleep right there.

Grissom woke or he thought he had but he was floating in this purple space as he floted he heard a loud voice that was very familiar to him but he didn't know who it was "you are the weapon" it said "your father emplanted a device in your mind to give you emotional strength as an experiment to study how emotions effect the average person" the purple space faded and he saw a hologram, a street he saw 7 year old him and a car speed towards him a boy pushed him out of the way but got hit instead as Grissom realized what was happening he had tears running down his face "h-he wasn't real"
