Three days Later
Logan Myer's eyes fluttered open. His head throbbed, pounding like a war drum behind his temples. His vision swam, and all he could smell was metal — blood and rust.
As the blur faded, he realized his arms were bound tightly behind the back of a wooden chair. His ankles too. His mouth wasn’t gagged, but his voice was hoarse when he tried to scream.
The room was dark, lit only by the soft, unnatural flicker of six small candles placed in a perfect circle around him. The air was heavy — thick with smoke and something far older… ritualistic.
And in the corner of the room, standing silently, was a shadow in a hooded coat.
“W-What do you want?” Logan rasped. “Money? Revenge?”
The figure didn’t speak. Instead, it turned slowly and lit another candle — the seventh. It sat directly in front of him, like a final piece being placed on an altar.
Then, it finally stepped forward.
Logan could barely make out a face under the hood. Just the glint of eyes. Not madness — cold purpose.
“You killed my brother,” the voice said — low, altered, masked.
Logan froze.
“Benjamin Walker,” the killer said. “Ten years ago. You called it a dare. A game. But you knew what you were doing.”
“We were kids!!!” Logan shouted.
“We didn’t know it would work! We were high—drunk—it was Ethan who said the words!”
A sharp blade gleamed as the figure raised it slowly. But it didn’t cut. It pressed gently against Logan’s cheek.
“I’m not here for excuses,” the killer said. “I’m here for the truth.”
A tear slipped down Logan’s face.
“Then you need to hear it. All of it.”
The blade lifted.
“We didn’t lure Benjamin there. Madison did. She was the reason he came. He… he thought she loved him. She flirted with him for weeks. Smiled at him. Made him think she actually cared.”
Logan’s breath hitched.
“She told him to meet her in the old drama hall that night. Said it was a secret initiation. Some love ritual. She played her part perfectly. And he believed every word.”
He looked up, directly at the killer. “Ethan had the book. He was obsessed with it, sure, but Benjamin—he only came because of her.”
“She brought him,” the killer whispered.
Logan nodded, trembling. “We were all scared when it went wrong. He started bleeding… screaming. None of us moved. Not even Madison. Ethan just stared. And then we… we turned on him. Blamed him.”
His voice broke. “We buried the body. And buried the truth.”
The killer stood silent for a long moment.
Then, slowly, they walked to the wall behind Logan. With red ink — or blood — they scrawled something in large, shaking strokes:
> “She led him. Now they follow her.”
Logan sobbed. “Please. I told you the truth. I’m not lying.”
“I believe you,” the killer said softly. “And now… so will your blood.”
The knife slid across Logan’s throat with terrifying grace — no hesitation. He slumped forward, eyes still wide, the candlelight reflecting in the tears that hadn’t yet dried.
2:46 AM – Crime Scene
Detective Marcus Hale rubbed his tired eyes as he stepped into the apartment, lit only by evidence flash.
Another crime scene.
Another body.
Logan Myer sat lifeless in a chair — arms and legs bound, throat slit clean. A circle of seven candles flickered around him. And on the wall, the now-familiar style of writing:
> “She led him. Now they follow her.”
Forensics was already working the scene, but Hale’s eyes went the writing. He said inside.
' Who is she??'
Hale suddenly realized something. There was a girl involved in the crime they committed ten years ago, and now there's a chance that the girl could be the next target.
He immediately calls the station.
"Email me a list of everyone involved in the crime that took place at Kingstown College ten years ago."
In phone. "Ok, sir"
A little later, a mail comes up. They go to an address with the name Madison on it. But when they went to the house at that address, they found that no one was bothering them. They were left with nothing to do.
