chap 1 Fire

August 10, 5.am

I just awoke from my alarm. It's the first day of school and I don't want to get up. I had a big yawn before relocating to get out of bed. I began my morning routine of taking a shower brushing my teeth and getting ready. After my shower and my sleepiness wore off I was excited and nervous about to day. it's official my first day as a highschooler. Those thought where soon interrupted when I got a notification. It was Ash. My best friend is from down the street. We been good friends since he moved down to this small town in the 2nd grade.

Ash: Hey are you up yet

                                      Me: yeah I don't see why we have to wake up this early in the morning 🥱

Ash: yeah me either but whatever are you almost ready we have to meet the girls soon. I don't feel like hearing them complain about us being late.

                                  Me: yeah I'm almost done I be there in 10 min

With that I put my phone in my pocket grab bag and went down the stairs. I just grob something quick I could eat on the busy before heading to our spot. It takes a good minute to get form my house the the bus stop Me, Ash,Yamya and Asisha share. I don't see why we can't have a bus stop closer to where me and Ash live but it's probably because of how small are town is. Honestly I was excited to see everyone at our spot nun of us really hangout over the summer we were all busy with our own things. After a couple of more minutes walking I fanily made it to our spot everyone else was there already. And I was in for a shock my buddy my best friend Ash got rip over the summer and grow quaint a bit I hardly recaniz him when I first walk up. Before this he looked more like me I guess a nerd. not caring what he wore as long as he was comfy. Now he looks like a jock and gained some fashion sense. I must've had a look if shock on my face because Ash.

- Ash: hey man it's been a minute I know I look like a complete difference person since we last hangout

         - Luke: you can say that again, but you look great man

-Ash: thank you too

I gave him a funny look because we both know my outfit was alright at best but whatever. As for the towing Yamya and Asisha they look the same with there curly hair fashion and jewelry. There what you call you typical pretty girls other than them being really smart it's sometimes hard to tell them apart, but thankfully I know them long enough I can. Honestly if we didn't become friends when we were younger I don't think any of us will still be friends regardless of that we all had some small talk about summer and how we feel about high school. We kept talking until the bus came. When I got on the bus my nerves were there see unfamiliar ish on the bus. It wasn't that bad when I remembered I'm just siting with Ash like we have since weweree kids. Since I was in front of him I just pick a seat near or close to the girls like normal. Then began are long 30 minutes ride to the school. I look out in the window time to time, but I eventually put my headphones on and took a light nap. I woke up when the bus was pulling up to the school. Great timing on my part. I start getting ready to get up the seat was a little more tight than it normally was because of Ash new physique. Soon we all left the bus like mice or rats. As I was out the bus we stay off to side the bus until all of us were off. Then we just find somewhere empty I guess to talk a little before school begins. The conversation was light and fun before we took separate ways to our homerooms. I wasn't hungry, so I start looking around for my homeroom I kinda vaguely remember where it was at orientation. But I was still lost but eventually found my way. I walk in I was the second person in there I took a seat kinda towards the form because I have bad vision and I simply don't want to be in the back. I seat down and began texting the group chat to see where everyone else was. As I was wanting for them to text back I put my headphones on and put my head on my desk. I was listening to my favorite song when I hear a song.

                 -Me: where is everyone one at 🤔

-Ash: Me and Yamya are at the cafeteria get breakfast.

-Asisha: hangout with my girls😜

-Yamya: without me 😮😢

- Asisha: we are in the lobby waiting for you for the group photo to hurry up.

-Yamya: alright 👌

                        -Me: I'm in my home room and no one here🫠

With that I close the group chat and lay. My head down because today is going to be a boring day of safety and protocols. Sometimes I don't really know I just know it was some taping my desk. I reluctantly got up to see my new homeroom teacher um uum, um drawing a blanket.

-Mrs James: hey class is going to begin I am about to begin to call so wake up

She says as she walks back to her desk I'm still half sleep but woke full after morning announcement begging. it's a old School,, soso the Loud speaker had the ringing sound for a minute before it worked. Like that the boring day begin of roll call safety drills band maybe icebreakers. And just Like that that's how the other class went with my see Ash Yamya or Asisha in one of my classes. finally lunch unfortunately I didn't have the in class but we all had lunch together it was just about to be lunchtim, and I was hungry. Just like that the bell rang and I got up and began walking to the cafeteria hoping to see one of them one the way but I didn't so I got in one I forgot to pack a lunch today. Lucky as I'm waiting in line for food I see Ash and soon the twins walk into the line the anxiety I feel slightly if I had to wait for them after I got my food slowly drift away. I just got the pepperoni pizza and a fruit I didn't really care. Soon after one by one we all got our food and head to the courtyard since it was so nice outside. We pick one of the three last available tables and all sat down. each of us across form each other Ash was directly opposite and the twins in my left and right.

-Yamya : How is it going for every so far

With that question only we all begin have are group and min conversation. It was fun and a relief to be all together it been a while since we had time for all of us. Lunch was peaceful with jokes and laughter. Soon the bell goes off and we all go out separate ways to our class. Soon I reach my class I just sat down listening to the same boring thing just slightly different because of place and class when the fire alarm goes off. I don't know how to describe it the class went quite non of us believing what we heard. it's the first day anit know way it's really it's probably a malfunction that's what I thought band what most people thought I think. Untill we here people running and that's when everyone knew it wasn't a joke I grab my bag and begin running to the nearest exit basic following where everyone else was running. the smoke started coming down are hall mean the fire was somewhere near. that's when people begin to real panic and the exit had a lot of people trying to get out with no uses. that's when the shoving and pushing began so much so I fall hard on the ground it's hard for me to get up with the smoke and the people running towards me. Luckily they ran around my body. I couldn't get up with the confusion and the smoke, but before I black out I see some blot form where the fire came from that's the last thing I remember. Before waking up outside I was a light haze at first, but I was fine after a minute. Luckily I'm ok nothing hurts, and I still have all my belongings. I look for my class before look for my friend all together in a group

- Ash: what took you so long we were all getting worried

- Me: sorry it's a little bit of a story, but I'm good

-Ash and twins: that's good

Then we all begin talking about were we where and how we felt. We all took turn until it was mine

-Me: So I was in the science hall when it rings. It wasn't serious to us until people began running, and then we all begin running. People began to push and and I fell hard on the ground and became disorientated and couldn't get up as the smoke grow closer before I pass out I … I stop for a couple of seconds because I saw from the corner of my eye some saying shush by putting a finger on there mouth. That almost made me stop telling my sto, butut I thought I was simply imagining it because of the smoke I was supposed to. And before I pass out I saw someone sprint from where the fire was.

-Twins and Ash that's crazy we're glad your safe

when began just hangout ask police and fire men came to stop the fire and make sure everyone is accounted for. We just still on the ground talk laughing as the adult figure out what to do. Soon then later the bus where called, and we were all dismissed early. The bus ride was quite they way back. I think mostly because of the shock of the situation to that happen. Soon it was our stop, and we all wait to get off before say goodbye and walking home. The twins one way and us the other. I couldn't get the shush out of my head for some reason. I don't of it wans a illusion or real that's what I think as I walk in to my house. There was a bit left on the fridge

Mom and dad we have business dinner tonight we won't be back until late here some money buy some takeout for dinner. Love mom and dad

I look at the note and brush it off they left my $25 so I ordered a medium pizza with wings and wait until it arrived. Then I went to my room and laid on my bed and I still couldn't get out my head so I went on my computer look at freak accident involving the school. there's a rumor with in are small town that a secret society that controls everything . As I began my search I get many articles I never hear about ranging from a death fires unexplained things that I'm shocked I never hear of. As I'm doing this I get this case that happen around the time in 2009 of a fire in the science hall and I'm t sounds like the accident that happened but then all of a sudden the power goes out. It doesn't bother me much because power goes out all the time I look outside and only our house look to not have power. Maybe we didn't pay the power bill this month. Then I hear a nick on the door I walk down the stairs and open the door except my food. To my shock it was a note .

I know what you did you should off kept your mouth shut. This is your one and only nice warm if you can't keep your mouth shut you pay the prices.

My heart stunk into my chest I then call Ash

-Ash: what's up

- me: go outside really quick did you get a note

-Ash: ok but why

- me: I don't have time to explain did you have one

-Ash: yeah

-me: Shit

my heart drop at that moment and soon Yamya and Asishia got the note
