Sienna cursed under her breath. Despite her warnings, Adrian had walked straight into the lion’s den. She grabbed her coat and keys, signaling Eve to follow. “We’re going to the casino,” she said.

Adrian, now seated across from Marcus, kept his composure despite the mounting tension. Marcus leaned back in his chair, studying him like a puzzle. “You’re not here for the games,” Marcus said, his voice low and menacing. “So why are you here?”

“I’m just curious about the man everyone seems to be talking about,” Adrian replied evenly.

Marcus chuckled darkly. “Flattery won’t save you, boy. Curiosity can be dangerous, especially when it leads to my doorstep.”

Before Marcus could press further, the commotion near the entrance caught everyone’s attention. Sienna walked in, her presence electrifying the room. All eyes turned to her as she approached Marcus’s table.

“Let him go,” Sienna demanded, her voice cutting through the tension.

Marcus smirked. “Ah, the queen herself. And here I thought you didn’t care for strays.”

Sienna’s eyes blazed with anger. “You know the rules, Marcus. He’s off-limits.”

“Rules?” Marcus sneered. “You mean the ones you keep bending for your own convenience?”

The room grew silent as the two leaders stared each other down. Finally, Marcus signaled his men to release Adrian. “Take your stray and go, Sienna. But remember, next time, I won’t be so forgiving.”

As Sienna and Adrian left the casino, the tension between them was palpable. In the car, Adrian broke the silence. “I had it under control,” he said.

“You had nothing under control,” Sienna snapped. “Do you have any idea what you just risked?”

“I was trying to help,” Adrian replied, his tone firm. “I wanted to understand what you’re up against.”

Sienna sighed, her anger giving way to exhaustion. “You don’t belong in this world, Adrian. And if you keep pushing, it will destroy you.”

Adrian met her gaze, his determination unwavering. “Maybe I don’t belong, but I’m not walking away. Not from you.”

Sienna looked away, her heart conflicted. She knew she couldn’t afford to let him stay, but a part of her didn’t want him to leave.
