Chapter 9/10: Come Hell or High Blood

The building was in lockdown.

Security everywhere. Executives screaming into phones. Legal teams scrambling to bury the live broadcast that already went viral.

Jinwoo?

Still sitting on the stage. Calm. Unbothered. Like a king after war.

They tried to drag him away—but he didn’t move.

“I’m not running anymore,” he said. “Let them come.”

And come they did.

---

20 minutes later

BOOM—main doors exploded open.

Men in suits went flying.

Smoke filled the hallway.

Then footsteps. Heavy. Measured.

Sasha.

All black. Blood on his knuckles. Gun in one hand, fire in his eyes. And behind him? His men. Russian, Korean, ruthless.

They weren’t here to talk.

They were here to take back what was his.

---

Jinwoo’s eyes widened as Sasha stepped through the smoke like a villain in a drama. A damn beautiful one.

“About time,” Jinwoo whispered.

Sasha’s eyes locked on him.

“Miss me, baby?” he said, gun still raised.

Jinwoo laughed. Actually laughed.

“You came alone?”

Sasha tilted his head. “You think I’d let anyone else steal my spotlight?”

Security rushed them. Bad move.

Sasha didn’t even blink—two shots, clean and precise. They dropped like flies. His men flanked the sides, clearing the path.

Jinwoo ran.

Straight into Sasha’s arms.

Their kiss hit like lightning—hot, messy, relieved. Jinwoo clung to his neck, Sasha’s hand fisting his hoodie like he was afraid to let go again.

“You’re insane,” Jinwoo whispered.

Sasha smirked. “You started it.”

---

Sirens howled in the distance.

Sasha pulled back, wiped blood from Jinwoo’s cheek with his thumb.

“You ready to disappear with me?”

Jinwoo didn’t hesitate. “I already have.”

Sasha pulled a small device from his pocket. Pressed a button.

Behind them—the servers of the agency began to burn.

Every secret. Every contract. Every chain that held Jinwoo down? Gone in smoke.

Hand in hand, they ran.

Out the back door.

Into a waiting black car.

And for the first time since Jinwoo stepped on stage…

He wasn’t an idol.

He was free.

The cabin was different this time.

No guns.

No blood.

No fear.

Just… them.

A fireplace flickering soft light across wooden walls. A kettle boiling. The sound of Sasha’s low hum as he stood in the tiny kitchen, sleeves rolled up, cooking like he’d done it a thousand times.

“You hum when you cook,” Jinwoo said from the couch.

Sasha turned slightly. “You talk too much for someone who can’t even scramble eggs.”

Jinwoo smirked. “I’m the pretty one. You’re the muscle.”

Sasha laughed under his breath—but his eyes, when they met Jinwoo’s, were soft.

Like he couldn’t believe Jinwoo was really here.

Safe. Alive. His.

---

Later that night, they sat on the floor in front of the fire. A bottle of soju between them. No makeup. No jewelry. Just skin and tired eyes.

“I thought I lost you,” Sasha said quietly.

Jinwoo looked at him.

“You almost did.”

Sasha reached out, brushing a scar under Jinwoo’s lip. “You don’t get it, do you?”

“Get what?”

Sasha leaned in closer, eyes glowing in the firelight. “I would’ve started a war for you. Burned Seoul. Crossed every line.”

Jinwoo’s heart pounded.

“You already did.”

---

The silence between them grew heavier. Warmer. Hungrier.

Sasha’s fingers trailed up Jinwoo’s jaw. “Say the word,” he whispered. “And I’ll make this whole world disappear.”

But Jinwoo didn’t want to disappear.

Not anymore.

He wanted to live.

With him.

> “Then stay,” Jinwoo whispered. “Here. With me.”

Sasha didn’t answer.

He just kissed him.

Slow. Deep. Like the first time again, but with no more fear. No cameras. No world to hide from. Just hands on skin, breath on lips, hearts beating in sync.

They didn’t sleep for a while.

And when they did?

They slept tangled in each other. No guns. No lies.

Just warmth.

And the terrifying, beautiful truth…

That they were finally free.
