Chapter 2ز

Peace be upon you, my darlings! 😍😘** This will be part of Chapter Two of my novel 🌹. I hope you love it with all your heart ❤️.

**Novel Title:** *Should I Fight My Husband or the Black Tumor?*

**Genre:** Romance\, Psychological\, Light Action

**Chapter Two – Part One:** *In the name of God\, let’s begin! ❤️😘*

Riman staggered out of the sewage drain, her body utterly exhausted. The air was thick with the stench of death, and the streets she had known all her life now felt foreign. Scattered around her were mutilated corpses—some still warm, as if their souls had only just departed.

*"I have to get home... I must..."*

*"I need to check on my family—what if something happened to them?"*

She ran with whatever strength she had left, her feet bleeding, her eyes burning with pain and fear. But what terrified her more than the corpses was the eerie silence. No more explosions, no screams of the dying. Just the sound of her own ragged breaths, as if the entire city had perished, leaving her as the sole survivor who hadn’t yet joined them.

*"No... not my family. Impossible."*

Finally, she reached their modest home. The door was slightly ajar, as if someone was still waiting for her.

**She entered.**

Inside, she found her mother sitting in a corner, knitting a pink dress for her little sister, Sara, who swayed joyfully, utterly oblivious—as if the world outside those walls hadn’t just died.

*"Will Sara like it\, my dear?"*

The protagonist was so overwhelmed with happiness that she began to cry.

**Riman** (voice trembling): *"M... Mom..."*

Her mother lifted her head coldly, looking at her as if she were a bothersome insect that had crawled into their home.

**Mother:** *"Finally! Did you bring your sister’s clothes?"*

**Riman** (gasping for breath): *"Something... something happened on the way. I couldn’t—"*

**Mother** (cutting her off indifferently): *"I don’t care! Just answer me simply: yes or no?"*

**Riman** (shrinking into herself): *"No... No\, Mom."*

**Mother** (sighing in disdain): *"Fine. Go take a shower. You stink."*

*"Seems I was wrong to trust you. You’ll always be a useless burden."*

The words stabbed through her heart like a knife. Her mother hadn’t even cared about what happened—only blamed her for failing. Defeated and broken, Riman replied:

*"Yes\, Mom."*

At that moment, Sara descended the stairs, her thick blonde hair swaying like a golden crown. She looked at Riman with clear disgust.

**Sara:** *"Mom\, why is this pig still here? She reeks!"*

**Mother** (carelessly): *"Let her go shower. The whole place stinks now that she’s here."*

Riman climbed the stairs, her knee aching from repeated falls. Midway, she bumped into her brother, Khaled, who was on his way out.

**Khaled** (stopping abruptly\, glaring at her with contempt): *"Watch where you’re going\, you nuisance!"*

He bit his lip and stormed off as if her mere presence tainted him.

She overheard him whispering to his friends on the phone:

*"Bring the best drugs you’ve got... I can’t stand living with this family!"*

*"Sure\, but do you have the money?"*

*"Of course! How could I not? I stole it from Dad days ago."*

Riman was stunned. She almost spoke up but pulled her hand back.

*"He’ll just think I’m crazy. My words mean nothing to him."*

He left in a rage, and as he reached the doorstep, he shattered the glass outside.

*"Why didn’t you talk to me? Or advise me? I thought you cared!"*

*"I just wanted you to hear it—to say even a single word to me!"*

Then she saw her father, cheerful, walking down the main street.

*"I’ll cross to the other side. I don’t want to see him."*

Riman closed the bathroom door behind her, her hands trembling as she filled the tub with cold water. Suddenly, she collapsed, her clothes soaking wet, but she didn’t care. She sat under the water, barely conscious, her mind shattered by her mother’s words.

*"I know you think I’m crazy... but this is too much."*

Her eyes were empty, lifeless—as if she no longer wanted to live.

*"I expected everyone to look at me with such disgust... but you\, Mom? I never thought you’d be one of them."*

Downstairs, Sara whined to her mother:

*"Are you making the dress I asked for? That pig ruined my chance!"*

**Mother** (with fake sweetness): *"Don’t worry\, my love. We’ll buy it tomorrow."*

**Sara** (angrily): *"But my party is tonight! I want to hit her right now!"*

**Mother** (laughing lightly): *"Do whatever you want."*

*"Just don’t kill her."*

**Sara** (laughing): *"Of course\, Mom. I’ll be obedient."*

Her mother kissed her forehead with a tenderness Riman had never known in her entire life.

Under the cold water, Riman choked on her tears.

**I hope you like it! 🇵🇸😘**
