Chapter 3 : Evidence is gone

"You remembered everything!???"

I saw him looking at me with glistening eyes , more like puppy eyes.

"Yes" I said.

"That's a very good news . Let's ummm let's celebrate it with some sweets ....."

He kept chanting from over excitement but I have to remind him that we have to go to detective.

"Zain".

"And also .... ,yea?"

"Let's go to the detective " I said with eyes full of emotions he couldn't comprehend I could see that because,whenever he doesn't understand anything he rises up his left eyebrow and keep his left hand on the back of his head later .

"o-oh yea,we have to go there right? Sorry I forgot".He said with a half curved smile. I felt sorry for breaking his excitement but I had to do it . And I could also say that he was feeling guilty for talking about celebrating when I had to go through this . Zain has always been like this whenever something good happened he used to get excited and when it came to me it'd come with an over before excitement.

And that's what I love the most about him

"It's okay . your these things keep me vivid after all".I said with soothening tone and rubbed a hand over his head ruffling his hairs,he's still my baby brother afterall so it hurts to see him so worked up over my messed up situation.

"ye-yea".

Zain's POV

"Ye-yea" I said with confusion not because I doubted inaya sisi but because of her behaviour. It changed all of a sudden. It's like as if she had become more sensible.

We reached at the detective's place .

"so you're telling me that you remembered everything, Mrs. Ayyubi. "?

"yes".

"in this short time of period "?

"As I said I had a huge mental shock which kept me from remembering things" she said boldly for some reason I really hated this personality of this detective.

"Fine,tell me what you remembered". He said after looking at inaya sisi for a while.

"As you know I and my best friend were going to the celebration of our graduation. On the way we got dragged into a dark alley and I couldn't see anything as when I was able to see things , my friend was ... " I swallowed a tear. And I frezeed cause I didn't know what to do "

"This much"?

"yes" Inaya said with hoarse voice

The detective turned to me.

I straightened my posture ,ready to take any strike he throws at us.

"What do you think of this Mr. Ayyubi"?He said with sharp voice and eyes.

"Think what?" I said almost desperately.

" Is this believable?" he said slowly circling his glass of scotch in the air

"what do you mean by that? That's what happened and you found those out everyone knows it so what's there to believe and not to believe?"I almost shouted on him.

I looked at Inaya.She looked calm like a clam sea.Eyes on the detective thinking something.but i couldn't tell nowadays what she has been running in her mind nowadays. These looks are new on her .

"Well, that's true I take that in my account. But there's something you should know".

"What"?

Inaya looked calmly but was there a look of worries in her eyes?

"The evidence is disappearing . Those we collected and those we didn't".
