CHAPTER ONE

Mr Bernard lived in a small village in the northern part of Ghana with his two wives.

He was a very humble and caring man. The way he met his first wife by name Yaa was a heart felling situation.

She was a kings daughter and was made to go into marriage with a man whom she had no feelings for hence, she refused.

One morning, as she was preparing to go and take her bath, a group of men walked in to her and carried her to the man's house.

She was totally not in agreement with her dad and requested for some clothes and then returned home.

She usually takes a walk around the village when ever she feels happy. One evening, as she was on a walk, she crossed path with Bernard, a young and handsome, hardworking man.

And also, he was the crush of many young women in the village.

He approached her and asked to know her more.

He then introduced her to his mom. Yaa was always shy upon seeing Bernard's mom.

She was a single mother who lost her husband and previous children. Only Bernard survive among all the kids she had.

She loved and took very good care of him.

Through his years of friendship with Yaa, he got to discover that she has never stepped feet to classroom before.

She Depended on her clothing talent for a leaving.

She could draw and sew dresses.

Bernard then decided to make her his wife.

He went ahead to see her parents as their religion demanded, and he also performed all the rite and made her his wife.

They had their first son and daughter after marriage.

Bernard was actually a farmer and a hunter as well.

One day, as he was in town, he met this young girl who was severely ill.

He was touched and decided to help cure her treatment. He did everything possible till she got well and better.

She soon got to recover from her illness.

Her parents knowing Bernard to be a good man then gave their daughter into marriage to him.

He explained things to his wife, and she agreed to her husband's decision.

He then brought his new bride home.

Her name was Afi, a very strong and young looking girl who suddenly became a wife.

She had her first child who was a boy but unfortunately, he was not able to survive.

so she lost him.

She month later, she had her second child, a very beautiful and cute baby girl by name Superi.

Bernard's first wife also had her third child, a bouncing baby girl.

During her month of pregnancy, there were this groups of students who lived in the house with them.

They were actually there for an educative purpose.

They saw her wrath and suffering. Especially that evening when she was trying to go and take her bath. By then she was in her ninth month of pregnancy.

She wasn't able to lift the bucket and her rival didn't bother to help her upon seeing it.

She felt so isolated and felt her husband no more loved her.
