*Elias' POV*
Five minutes into traffic and Martin still wouldn't move the car, I had an urgent meeting and hated to be late, I shot Martin a glance through the review mirror as he stared back at me with awkwardness.
"Forgive me Sir but there seems to be heavy traffic ahead, there might be a problem up ahead"; he said nervously.
My phone vibrated in my pocket, and reaching for it, Melissa's name flashed on the screen. I hesitated for a while but later went forward to answer it, suddenly, a loud honk interrupted my call, as a car came crushing mine from behind jerking me slightly off my seat.
Luckily enough, I sustained no critical injuries, glaring furiously at Martin, he hurriedly got out of the car to check how much damaged was done. I honestly cared about no damage but having my schedule readjusted from time to time and running late for business meetings was the last of what I could tolerate, and a fool just had to ram his car into mine...then I'll have to teach him just how to value life.
He later returned and drove to a stop at the side walk when the lights finally turned green.
"Sir-
"How much damage was done?"; I went straight to the point, cutting the chitchat.
"The dent is really deep Sir"
"And?"; I said, trying to hold back my anger.
"I-I'm on it Sir"; he said nervously and got out of the car, moment later, my phone vibrated again, reaching out to grab it, I accidentally hanged up the call.
"Melissa"; I mouthed to myself, having a bright red hair like cherry with a beauty spot underneath her left eye, she's able to capture the attention of anyone she sets her eyes on...those eyes that danced underneath the sunset, reflecting the colour of gold at broad daylight. Every clothes she wore hugged her body tightly, making her curves visible at every angle but there was nothing about her that attracted me to her, I don't know if it's because of her sociable personality or the extreme obsession she has for me but deep down, I always felt that something was missing...or is it someone?
Dwelling on such thoughts sent a sharp pain, penetrating my skull, attacking every nerve within my body. My heart rate increasing, my chest tightening at every move, I was slowly losing my consciousness, losing grip on reality.
"It really wasn't my fault, please understand me"; these words echoed through my ears snapping me back to reality, that voice...was a voice I've heard before, drenched in sweat, I managed to pull myself together, relaxing against my seat when Martin came knocking on the window.
I wiped myself clean of sweat, rolling down the window as he filled me in on what transpired, my thought slowly drifted away from Martin wandering who it was who spoke out a moment ago, why did the voice sound familiar to me? How was it able to pull and bring me instant relieve from my episodes that I've suffered for years? Questions flooded my mind and I needed answers to them.
I stepped out of the car pausing for a moment before my steps, only to see HER standing right before me
"Wait, what? Elias?"
"Huh? Ava?"; of course it just had to be the gold digger, I began to question everything that was happening today. I frowned looking at how shocked she pretended to be.
Looking at her once again brought back memories, most of it being blurry but what I was certain off, was that, she's nothing but a money grabbing pretentious woman, who will do anything to chase after money and fame.
What's wrong with me? I shouldn't be thinking about this, about her, after she's now my past and Melissa my future. Melissa is the one I truly love and I won't just allow just anyone to get in-between us ever again.
"How are you going to deal with the damage done?"
"Can we... please talk about it?"
"There's nothing to talk about, either you pay me in cash right here and now or I take this to court and you know well what happens when a Brooke takes an issue to court"
